VERY PRETTY CAR!
I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A DEALER WHO HAD PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM THE LAST OWNER THAT HAD IT SINCE 1998. HE KEPT THIS CAR GARAGED AND METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED. WHEN IT ARRIVED, I DROVE IT TO THE LOCAL JAGUAR DEALER AND ASK THEM TO GO OVER IT COMPLETELY. THEY DID AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG, SO I ASKED THEM TO CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS AND PLUGS, GIVING IT A MAJOR TUNE-UP AS I WANTED TO DRIVE IT DAILY. THE DEALER/SERVICE DEPT CONTINUED TO TELL ME THAT THEY WERE AMAZED AT HOW CLEAN THE CAR WAS IN AND OUT AND THAT THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD NEVER BEEN OUT DURING ANYTHING OTHER THAN A CLEAR, SUNNY DAY. AND YOU WILL AGREE, IT IS THAT CLEAN! THE WOOD IN THIS CAR IS PERFECT WITH NO CRACKS, NO CHIPPING AND NO SIGNS OF DE-LAMINATION. VERY CLEAN. THE HEADLINER LOOKS LIKE IT MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED, AS IT SHOWS LIKE NEW. THE FACTORY COFFEE COLORED LEATHER SEATS FRONT AND BACK ARE IN VERY NICE CONDITION SHOWING ONLY MINOR WEAR. ALL THE GAUGES AND, SWITCHES AND ELECTRONICS WORK AS NEW, EVEN THE POWER ANTENNA WORKS AS IT SHOULD. THE CAR IS ALSO EQUIPPED WITH A 6 CD CHANGER IN THE TRUNK THAT WORKS PERFECTLY. THE ONLY THING I HAVE FOUND THAT DOESN'T WORK CONSISTENTLY IS THE CLOCK. IT SEEMS TO WORK WHEN IT WANTS TO... MECHANICALLY THIS BURGANDY BEAUTY RUNS OUT LIKE A CHAMP. THE INLINE 6 CYL HAS PLENTY OF PEP AND GREAT ON GAS. I DRIVE MAINLY IN SPORT MODE, WHICH SEEMS TO REALLY GIVE IT ZIP. THESE ENGINE WERE KNOWN TO BE WORK HORSES AND TO DO WELL OVER 200K MILES WITH EASE, SO WITH JUST 73K VERY CLEAN MILES YOU WOULD HAVE A LOT OF TROUBLE FREE MILE AHEAD OF YOU IN THIS BEAUTIFUL RIDE... TIRES HAVE MORE THAN 90% TREAD AND FEEL VERY SMOOTH AT ALL SPEEDS, LOCALLY AND ON THE HWY. OVERALL CONDITION OF EXTERIOR IS EXCELLENT WITH ONLY A FEW MINOR CHIPS AND DINGS AS WOULD BE EXPECTED FOR ITS AGE. THE MOST COMMON THING I HEAR WHEN I AM OUT IN THE HONEY OF A RIDE IS "MAN, NICE JAG" THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS-IS WHERE-IS WITH NO WARRANTY EITHER IMPLIED OR EXPRESSED, I AM HOPING ONE OF MY OTHERS WILL SELL SO THAT I CAN KEEP THIS ONE AS MY DAILY DRIVER(IF TRUTH BE KNOWN) BUT I WILL SELL IT FOR WHAT I HAVE IN IT WHICH IS THE BUY IT NOW PRICE, I WILL POSSIBLY ACCEPT BEST OFFER IS CLOSE TO ASKING... I AM SELLING WHICHEVER I CAN 1ST AS I AM LOSING MY STORAGE. TRANSPORT IS RESPONSIBILITY OF BUYER. THANKS FOR LOOKING! |

2014 Jaguar F-Type
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Stepping Into The Lion's Den With A Big-Hearted Cat
If you're like me - and our demographics suggests you are - you've probably never seen a new Jaguar sportscar at your local showroom. I'm 36, and it hasn't happened in my lifetime... and not by a little bit. Oh, there have been a string of XK coupes and convertibles, and as of late, there have even been some genuine high-performance specials - namely the R, R-S and R-S GT models - but their basis has always been the 2+2 grand tourer shell, not a lighter and smaller footprint with more intrinsic sporting intent. The truth is that it's been a half-century since Jaguar introduced a proper new sportscar. Today, most people know the brand strictly as a purveyor of wood- and hide-lined luxury sedans.
In fact, if you're not an enthusiast with some appreciation for the marque's history, it's a bit odd to hear Jaguar executives proclaim that they are a sportscar company and always have been. By their reckoning, the 2014 F-Type seen here is in fact a return to form, a Rip Van Winkled brand pillar reanimated and reimagined to take center stage. It's a sentiment that must be particularly odd for car shoppers in developing markets like China, where Jaguar hasn't even been selling cars for very long. Yet because the original 1961 E-Type is perhaps the most gorgeous car ever to lay ply on the world's roads, we're prepared to cut them some slack.
Jaguar refreshes the 2018 F-Type lineup and adds a high-performance V6 model
Thu, Jan 12 2017Jaguar is giving the F-Type line a refresh for 2018 and adding two new variants. All new F-Types feature LED headlights and slightly darker taillights. Every model except the SVR also gets updated front bumpers. The most noticeable change is the side vents, which morph from the double slots to single openings in most cases. The F-Type R's large side vents are bisected horizontally. The two new F-Type models are the R Dynamic and the limited edition 400 Sport. The R Dynamic isn't particularly exciting, since it's pretty much just a dress-up package for the entry level 340- and 380-horsepower F-Types. All the model adds are 19- and 20-inch wheel options, as well gloss black-painted hood vents, splitter, side sills, and rear diffuser. The 400 Sport, on the other hand, comes with much more. It's only available for one year, and comes with a modified supercharged V6 producing 400 horsepower. The 400 Sport can be ordered with either rear- or all-wheel-drive, but the 8-speed automatic is the only available transmission. The car also benefits from larger 15-inch brakes at each corner. Owners of the 400 Sport can personalize their driving settings as well, thanks to the car's Configurable Dynamics system. Inside and out, the 400 Sport gets some visual upgrades, too. It includes the Sport Design Pack, which adds a deeper front spoiler, larger side sills, and a rear diffuser. A flat-bottom steering wheel, yellow contrast stitching, and black brushed aluminum accents finish off the interior. There are also plenty of 400 Sport badges on the car. View 12 Photos The two other major changes for the F-Type line involve infotainment. One of which is that every model now comes standard with Jaguar's Touch Pro infotainment system and its 8-inch touchscreen with which the driver can interact. The other is a cool new app the company developed with GoPro. It's called ReRun, and it allows the driver to connect a GoPro camera to the car, and download footage to the phone. The reason for connecting the camera to the car, is so that it can add telemetry data including speed, gear, g force, and steering and brake inputs to the video footage. After a spirited drive in the country or on a racetrack, the footage can be downloaded to the phone to be reviewed and shared. The app even generates "highlights" automatically. The new F-Type range will go on sale in the first quarter of 2017.
Geely poaches Jaguar designer Wayne Burgess
Tue, Feb 5 2019The fact is simple: Chinese automaker Geely just poached designer Wayne Burgess from Jaguar. Burgess will oversee a team of 100 designers and staff, in charge of projects encompassing all of Geely's brands, and report to Peter Horbury, Geely's EVP of design. Burgess, who started at Jaguar in 1997, was lately the production studio director for Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations, and the head of Jaguar's production cars. His credits include the F-Type, F-Pace, I-Pace, and current XJ, as well as being an Ian Callum stand-in at events. The implications of this personnel move carry the easy-to-ignore weight of another domino falling in what could be a monumental Chinese long game. Geely owns an eponymous car brand in China, as well the Chinese-Swedish Lynk & Co, Sweden's Volvo, England's Lotus and London Electric Vehicle Company (makers of electric black cabs), Malaysia's Proton, and U.S. flying car startup Terrafugia. Burgess won't need to leave home, because Geely's opening a design center in Coventry, England, to go along with its other centers in Barcelona, Gothenburg, Los Angeles and Shanghai. If you're keeping track, Burgess' flight maintains the quickening pace of talent headed to Chinese automakers that we give scant attention. After Geely bought Volvo in 2010, it moved longtime Volvo designer Peter Horbury, now Burgess' boss, to Shanghai. At the time, the news evoked a chortle. Compare that to last week, when GAC Motor designer David Hilton said, "There are now more auto designers in Shanghai than in any other city in the world, including Detroit and L.A." Hilton, by the way, was Bentley's head of exterior design until September last year. The same month, ex-Rolls Royce pen Giles Taylor, who brought us the Cullinan, jetted to Munich to lead FAW's Hongqi luxury brand. One month before that, ex- Land Rover designer Phil Simmons had taken over at Great Wall brand Haval. One month after that, ex- Mazda and BMW designer Kevin Rice became VP of design at Chery. Ex- Audi man Wolfgang Egger took over at BYD in 2017. Oh yeah, Hilton's comments came in a Wall Street Journal article about this very migration. Mass distribution is nearing the developed world in the Northern Hemisphere, too. Lynk & Co wants to get its papers for Europe this year. Zotye just named its first batch of U.S. dealers in advance of a planned launch here in 2020. Guangzhou Auto was at the same U.S. dealer meetings at Zotye, aiming for a U.S. rollout in early 2020.
