1990 Jaguar Xjs Base Convertible 2-door 5.3l on 2040-cars
Rockville, Maryland, United States
|
This original 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 is a two-owner one family
classic grand touring convertible (current owner inherited the car from father
in law). The car spent the majority of
its life in Louisville Kentucky until coming to Maryland at around 60,000
miles. Mechanically the car is sound and runs well. The only problem is the car does not get driven enough. The V12 Jags are beautiful but they like to be driven. After having the car in the family for the last 24 years it is time to give it a new home. These cars can be corky so I would ask that you email with specific mechanical questions. That said, this car starts right away and is very solid on the highway. All maintenance that has been required over the years has been done immediately. Ascetically, this car is very good. Everything on this car is original including the paint, but has always been very well cared for. Typical wear and tear expected over the last 25 years, so the car is not show – but visually, it is very striking. The wheels are in fantastic shape and the tires are in almost new condition. Top is excellent with the exception of the head liner, and the fit is great. Please email for additional photos. |

Jaguar names its 3 Series-fighter XE, packs it with Ingenium engines
Tue, 04 Mar 2014Jaguar is committed to emerging from the fringes of the luxury car market and into the mainstream. Just take a look at where it was a couple of decades ago and where it is now: In the 1980s, it had essentially two product lines, the XJ sedan and XJ-S coupe/convertible), and now it's got the XK coupe and convertible, the XJ sedan, the XF sedan and wagon and the F-Type coupe and roadster. But it's not about to stop there.
Coventry knows that if it's going to take on the German and Japanese heavyweights, it's going to need a compact sports sedan, and it's not about to repeat the mistake that was the X-Type. To that end, it's long been rumored to be developing a rival to the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class - it just hasn't given us much to go on. But that changes right here and now.
At the Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar has confirmed the imminent arrival of its new sports sedan, and along with the teaser image above, has given us some juicy details. For one, it'll be called the XE - fitting nicely alongside its big brothers the XF and XJ in Jaguar's growing sedan lineup. For another, it'll hit markets overseas in 2015 and arrive here in the United States in 2016.

Jaguar F-Type 'Design Study' headed to Goodwood
Mon, 08 Jul 2013With the Goodwood Festival of Speed taking place this weekend, Jaguar has announced it will be there with its new trio of R models as well as a design study version of the hot new F-Type sports car. While we've already seen the XFR-S last year at the LA Auto Show and the XJR and XKR-S GT at the New York Auto Show, the F-Type design study has our attention.
Based on our recent sighting of a fixed-roof F-Type being tested in full camouflage, this could mean that we'll finally get to see a sexy F-Type Coupe in near-production form. Of course, with all of the other R branded models on display, Jaguar could also unveil a sporty new R - or maybe even an RS - F-Type roadster. Whatever is planned, it will not be a static display - Jaguar says the design study car will be in action, making the fabled run up Goodwood Hill with chief engineer Mike Cross at the wheel. Scroll down for more information about what Jaguar has planned for Goodwood.
