This is a truly rare eye turner that gets about 4 blown away comments a day here in Maine. It is my daily driver and super reliable. It is inspected in Maine until September and will take another no problem. None and imean none of the old Jaguar fuel line, engine, and electrical problems!!! parts are so cheap now, and i just did the most difficult maintenance on the car by putting all new inbound brakes on rear of the car!  This car has a GM TBI fuel injected 350 in it with custom brackets and has vortec headers.the engine was rebuilt 50,000 miles ago and has a fresh oil change. The 400 gm transmission which is standard in these jags was rebuilt 8,000 miles ago. This car is super smooth and solid. The v8 is so much lighter then the v12 that the front end raised 2 inches so custom brackets where put in the rear to raise it two inches. car is super tight, and handles better then the other jags on the road!

There is virtually no rust on this car it has always been garaged and the car has always had an underlining on it. it is finally stating to peal off so you can see the original red paint under the car!! no rust on an 86 jag!  you can see in the pics the car is straight, no dents or issues, id give the exterior a 8.5 and the interior an 8. The car also has a new pioneer deck, with 4 dual 3way speakers. 51/4 front and 6x9 rear!

car is pickup only, although id might deliver for a good price which would include gas.. obviously.

all electronics are working in the car,and the car also has a very rare Aston Martin sunroof that does not even slightly leak.

No leaks, tight steering and suspension. A true luxury car. I have never seen something so pretty sound so mad at the world.

Thank you for looking and feel free to ask questions, i don't need a car for a while, i work in the building i live in.

The story behind Bridgestone's new tires for the rare and beautiful Jaguar XJ220

Wed, Jun 7 2017

The Jaguar XJ220 is a beautiful, fast, and arguably under appreciated supercar from the early 1990s. While contemporaries like the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 garner more than $1 million at auctions, the XJ220 might pull in half that. Maintaining an older car requires work, a task made more difficult when parts aren't available. Last year, Bridgestone announced it was producing new tires specifically for XJ220s. The Japanese tire supplier has released a 42-minute video documenting the process. There were only 275 XJ220s ever built, fewer than both the F40 and 959. Until recently, no supplier made four same-spec tires that would fit the XJ220. Early Dodge Viper owners suffer from the same problem. Thanks to both Bridgestone and Pirelli, owners now have two options to choose from. Bridgestone worked with Don Law Racing, the go-to shop for all things XJ220, when developing the right tire for the car. It isn't simply a reproduction of an older-spec tire. Bridgestone tested a number of new compounds. With so few cars available, from the beginning this was going to be a money-losing prospect for the tire maker. Enthusiasts within the organization fought hard to get everything approved. Watch the full video to hear how much time and effort went into the project. Jaguar's Callum refutes two XJ bodystyle rumor

Wed, 01 May 2013

Not long ago, we relayed word from Edmunds that Jaguar was planning to split its next-generation XJ sedan into two bodystyles - one model that continued the ambitious design approach fostered with the current X351-based model, and another, more upright model to better appeal to China's conservative design sensibilities.
We expressed some cynicism in the idea, noting that such a strategy "might catch more profits for the marque, but it might also represent a setback to design head Ian Callum's vision for a thoroughly modern Jaguar portfolio." Callum has been quite insistent in his belief that Jag needs to be a forward-thinking brand in terms of design, and the two-model strategy seemed to conflict with that idea. We tried to get some comment from Callum at that time, but were unable to reach him.
As it turns out, our cynicism was well-placed. Autocar says that while the next XJ will continue to have two wheelbases, Callum has denied the two-model talk, saying flatly: "I can't see us doing two bodystyles. The cost would be enormous and the message inconsistent. You have to believe in what you produce and to do two bodystyles would undermine that."

Here's what a front-row seat looked like in 2014 Mille Miglia

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

From 1927 to 1957, the Mille Miglia was one of the great, romantic European road races of the golden era of motorsports. The cars were fast, beautiful and loud but also extremely dangerous and regularly claimed drivers' lives. After two fatal accidents in '57, the event finally had to reform and came back in 1977 as a historic rally held over the course of several days. That didn't make things boring, though, and Xcar found that out firsthand with a front-row seat to this year's race in a 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe.
Xcar was actually following the Jaguar team this year that included Ian Callum and Jay Leno in an XK120, which we previously got a glimpse of when it was covered on Jay Leno's Garage. Where Leno focuses on a more personal story of competing, this one takes a more macro view. You really get an idea of how crazy the Mille Miglia still is, and while the F-Type is way too new to actually compete in the rally, it can still wear an event sticker and drive with the vintage racers.
One amazing fact about today's Mille Miglia is that if you're competing in the event, there are basically no rules. The roads are technically still open to traffic, but the police shut down intersections and provide a rolling roadblock. Xcar's F-Type alternated between following on the course with the classics and snipping off chunks of the route to watch the participants arrive at each stop. Check out the video to experience fantastic historic rally.
