Up for auction is a beautiful Red 1985 Jaguar XJS Coupe. It was one of my grandfather's daily drivers for years. It is in excellent working order with about 112000 GENTLE miles. It has the usual minor issues associated with a Jaguar of this age. There are a few cracks on the wood dash. The leather is not cracked and in good shape. It also has the usual minor chips and dings. When my grandfather passed away in 2010, it was parked. Although I've been maintaining it by occasionally starting it and driving it, the AC has lost it's charge. The driver's window switch also needs cleaning (as all 80's jags do). That's all the bad. The car runs, shifts, drives like a new car. She has a brand new battery and the Yokohama tires have a lot of tread on them. Oh, I've also installed a cd changer in the glove box that looks and works nicely. It also has upgraded speakers. It has no issues passing smog. The car is currently non-opped so registration fees wouldn't pile up. The title is --clear--.
Please have a look at the photos as I've tried to be as open and honest as possible. Again, this was one of my grandfather's most loved cars and it needs to go to a good home as it will make an excellent daily driver.
Oh, one more thing, I can help arrange for shipping if needed -to the person who wins the auction- I won't, however, be answering questions like, "how much for shipping to...?" There are several internet-based auto transport companies who can provide a fast and competitive quote. Some advertise on hemmings and some advertise here on ebay. I'm willing to be flexible for loading times. The pickup location is 95023. I hope that's clear enough:)
Happy Bidding!!

Jaguar's V8-powered XE looks to take aim at the BMW M3
Tue, May 23 2017It seems that Jaguar's littlest sedan is about to get one of the company's biggest engines. One of our spy photographers caught the company testing a disguised XE. While most people's first instincts would be to dissect the car, our photographer paid some extra attention to the number plate, and looked up the car's registration. He says the registration reveals that this little car is packing a 5.0-liter V8. The only sort of 5.0-liter V8 Jaguar makes is supercharged and makes 550 horsepower or more. So what we're probably looking at is a future 550-horsepower XE R. On the car itself, there appear to be larger intake vents on each side of the front bumper, likely for cooling off a much bigger, hotter engine. And of course a more aggressive appearance. The V8 theory is further backed up by the quad-tip exhaust that clearly needs more development. Aside from these changes, this XE looks pretty similar to the sportier models in the current range. It has the same side skirts as the XE R-Sport and XE S. It also uses the same wheels as the XE S. We can safely say that at least the wheels will be different when the V8 model reaches production. As for when that will be, we'd say don't expect to see a revealed production model for at least a year, and possibly more, since there appears to be a decent amount of development left to do. This Jaguar D-Type is what you should spend your multimillion-dollar holiday bonus on
Tue, Dec 5 2017The end of the year is fast approaching, your holiday shopping is done, and the mutual fund you help manage is paying out some serious bonuses. What do you do with all that sweet cash? Well, if it's over seven figures, we suggest hanging on to it until January when it could help you buy this amazing 1954 Jaguar D-Type race car. The D-Type, for those of you unfamiliar, is Jaguar's famous race car that gave birth to the road-going XKSS, one of which was owned by Steve McQueen. The D-Type was known for its successes on the track, and frequent appearances at Le Mans, with a victory at the endurance race in 1956. This particular car also raced there in 1954 with the Jaguar factory team, and behind the wheel was Sir Stirling Moss. According to RM Sotheby's, it led the race for a major chunk, but eventually retired due to brake issues. The car was campaigned at other events through the year, and it also saw time at the hands of a privateer team that bought the car in 1955. Many decades later, the car is being offered for public sale for the first time in its life at the RM Sotheby's auction in Arizona, Jan. 18-19. According to the auction company, the car features the original body, chassis, drivetrain and suspension. Between the history and the originality, the company is expecting the car to bring between $12 million and $15 million, hence the reason this is probably just for those with seriously massive holiday bonuses. But if you have the means, you could do way worse than spending it on this Jaguar. Is Jaguar's 3 Series-fighter the brand's last chance?
Wed, 16 Oct 2013The upcoming line of compact 3 Series-fighters from Jaguar, often referred to as the Jaguar XS, could consist of a sedan, wagon and possibly a coupe and GT model (think BMW 5 Series GT). The car's all-aluminum architecture also will provide the basis for two new sports utility vehicles. Just how important is the much-touted "baby Jag" project to parent company Jaguar Land Rover? A JLR executive reportedly says the brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS, codenamed X760, Autocar reports.
The brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS.
"If the X760 fails, it will probably be the end for the [Jaguar] brand," the executive says. But Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar's global brand director, claims Jaguar will "build the most advanced, most efficient, most refined car in that [compact luxury sedan] segment. Not almost as good as, but better than the best in the world."
