Up for auction is a 1983 jaguar XJS HE V12 in great shape for its age.The jaguar has exactly 85914 miles on it. The car I will tell you everything I know about the car. I purchased car from an estate as the car was not running due to the owner not using the car for years. The car had no battery so we went and bought a battery and checked fluids after that the car started right up and ran perfectly so we drove it home. The car shifted perfect and ran perfect. There was a little clunk from the front passenger side like a strut or sway bar not exactly sure, and the brakes were a little soft. For some reason when I went to start and drive it the other day it did not want to shift out of park, so I did some research on that issue and decided to unhook battery for 2 minutes and then it shifted out of park and I could drive it and it worked perfect so Im not sure the issue with that either.
Overall the body is in good to great condition with minor surface rust but not bad, no body damage. The radio works after changing the fuse and the drivers side power window and wipers do not work maybe just some more fuses but not sure. Guages all work and tires are good but do have some cracking or weathering due to age. The V12 motor is clean and runs great. This car is perfect for the true jaguar fan and with very little work will be out on the road. I have a clean title in hand as well. The car is located about 20 mile northwest of Madison Wi and that is where it will need to be picked up. After auction is over I will need a 500.00 of the purchase price to be paid within 24hours via paypal. If I think of anything else to add I will post it, any questions feel free to message me or call Bryan 608 370 2418. Thanks for looking and good luck take advantage of this no reserve auction. |

Ian Callum says Jaguar could do new wagon after all
Wed, Apr 27 2016Just the other day we brought you a report from Automotive News Europe that indicated that Jaguar was getting out of the wagon market. Now it turns out that may not actually be the case. Following the ANE report, Jaguar design boss Ian Callum tweeted out that he had been misquoted. "I said there would be no XE Sportbrake," wrote Callum. "Nothing more!" While stopping short of spelling out what the British automaker has in the pipeline, Callum's implication (by process of elimination of other Jaguar models) is that the new XF could still breed a wagon version. The previous XF Sportbrake, which also came in XFR-S performance spec, was only the second wagon Jaguar had ever made. The first was based on the X-Type that preceded the new XE; offering a long-roof version of that new sports sedan is apparently off the table, but even with the new F-Pace crossover ostensibly filling the role, a new XF Sportbrake could yet become a reality. Of course none of that means that such a wagon would make its way to North America. But we take a great deal of stock in what Callum has to say on the subject, seeing as how he designed every one of the models in question. The X-Type Sportwagon was offered Stateside, however the XF Sportbrake never was, and in addition the F-Pace promises to be a big player for the automaker on this side of the Atlantic. Do you think Jaguar should make a wagon out of the new XF, and bring that wagon to these United States? This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Jaguar Land Rover to badge vehicles based on horsepower
Wed, Sep 27 2017Add Jaguar and Land Rover to the list of automakers changing their nomenclature due to the realities of engine downsizing. Spy photos of an unreleased Jaguar F-Type model show a badge reading P380 AWD. The letter P evidently refers to Petrol (British for gasoline), and 380 is the engine's horsepower. According to Auto Express, the entry-level F-Type will be badged P300, indicating the power output of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Land Rover is expected to follow suit with the new badging nomenclature. Diesel models will get a D instead of a P, while electric and hybrid models will get an E badge, along with a number corresponding to total system power. So, expect the I-Pace to sport an E400 badge on its hind end. One question we have, though, is how the disparity between mechanical, metric and imperial horsepower will be dealt with. While such power-specific badges are arguably unnecessary, we expect the trend to proliferate as engines continue to get smaller but turbocharging and electrification keep horsepower climbing. At least JLR's badges are easier to understand than the messy way Audi plans to rename its models or the way BMW completely dismisses actual engine size in its naming convention. Watch a Jaguar tow a man on skis to 117 mph
Tue, Oct 3 2017Jaguar wagons are fun. Skiing is fun. Combine the two, and you get the above, which looks extra fun. Apparently there is a Guinness world record for top speed skiing while being towed by a vehicle. According to the video, that record was just under 70 mph. While we're not experts on high-speed skiing, that actually seems a little low, and so did Jaguar and Olympic skier Graham Bell. So Jaguar and Bell went to an undisclosed location in the Arctic Circle to break the record. Jaguar brought along an XF S Sportbrake, a 380-horsepower wagon that is now available in America (yay!). They hooked up a line to the back, Bell suited up, held on, and rode along to a final speed of about 117 mph, a full 47 mph faster than the last record. Frankly, we found this to be a pretty cool activity (no pun intended). We think maybe it should be considered for a new Olympic sport. Sure would be better than ice dancing. It could look something like the Bonneville Speed Week, with a big multi-mile stretch of snow to be towed along. Think about it, International Olympic Committee, you still have time before the 2018 Winter Olympics.
