You're reading this because you appreciate high-powered quality and beauty.

This is possibly the best all-around car ever made (IMHO)!  A smooth, sophisticated Executive Sedan when needed, and a roaring, stealth Supercar when it's time for faster fun!  I've had a LOT of cars of all types; and this one is my favorite.  It's so good, in fact I have two, and that's why I'm selling one (I need room for other toys & projects).

This  roomy, silent-cruising, all-aluminum rocket (0-60 in 5 sec from near 400 supercharged horsepower) is all butter-soft ivory leather inside, wrapped outside in sparkling Jaguar Racing Green - a special color unique to this model and year.

This is a car that always impresses at your business meeting, social events, and at the track (yes, I have run time trials in it, at Monticello Motor Club, a 4-mile private road course near NYC).

Always factory maintained, with service records back to 2005; this is a well-tended and reliable ride in need of an appreciative new driver.  There is not a single door-ding in the body (though there is one tiny stone chip in the hood), as it's always been country-kept.  Tires are High-performance, all-season with good tread.  No cuts or tears in leather or any interior surfaces.  Everything works.  All clean (OK, the engine bay is dusty from resting through this past winter).  Check the pictures and ask if you need more evidence.

The list of equipment is a mile long, all original except for upgraded brake rotors and pads.    If you appreciate the Grace, Pace, and Space of a classic Jaguar sedan - and the incredible performance of these special supercharged R-type variants, you cannot go wrong acquiring this car before someone else gets it!

Cash or other verified payment will make it yours.  Fly in and drive it home.  I'll pick you up at the airport (ALB).

This classic Jaguar XJ has a 720-hp ungentlemanly secret

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Forget Tawny Kitaen. If you want to make a Jaguar XJ rock, just do what this guy did: stuff a heavily modified and turbocharged General Motors V8 under the hood, and take it to the track.
The video calls this Series 1 XJ a sleeper, but with its open exhaust and obvious turbo whistle, the once-gentlemanly sedan is anything but. The owner says that the engine is GM LQ9 V8 that has been stroked to 402 cubic inches putting out around 720 horsepower with 12 pounds of boost (in standard form, this 6.0-liter V8 was used in the second-gen Cadillac Escalade). Check out the video below to see what that kind of power does for this classic Jaguar in the eighth-mile.

Jaguar C-X75 production run canceled

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

"We feel we could make the car work, but looking at the global austerity measures in place now, it seems the wrong time to launch an 800,000-pound to 1 million-pound supercar."
Those words are from Jaguar Global Brand Director Adrian Hallmark, and as true as they may be, it still stings a little bit. After all, we've been looking forward to the Jaguar C-X75 ever since word came from Jolly Olde that it was green-lit for a short production run.
Some of the cool bits and pieces the world will now be without: a powerful but relatively miserly 1.6-liter turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine, two electric motors driving all four wheels and a carbon fiber chassis developed by Williams F1. Sigh.

Jaguar hints at what might become of XK after F-Type's arrival

Wed, 02 Jan 2013

Jaguar may move the company's XK further upmarket following the introduction of its forthcoming F-Type. The newcomer to the range easily shoulders the burden of carrying the Jaguar sportscar mantle, freeing up the XK to evolve in another direction. While speaking with Autocar, Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum said there's an opportunity to grow the grand tourer both in size and luxury.
Whether that means the vehicle will retain its two-plus-two seating configuration or swell to offer buyers even more space remains to be seen. Either way, the future will likely see the XK soften its claws moving forward. And that's no bad thing. Jaguar has a long history of building luxurious grand tourers more content to soak up miles of highway than bounce from apex to apex.
What else is in store for the brand? Callum seems to have kept his cards close to his chest, refusing to acknowledge ongoing rumors of a Jaguar crossover beyond saying the brand "had to take notice" of the popularity of the luxury SUV market.
