Up for sale is a super clean. Very well maintained 2000 Jaguar XJ8L with a very low 66,000 miles. Not many 13 year old Jaguars can boast of this. I changed the oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic oils every 3000 miles since I purchased it in 2005 from Mastro Subaru in Tampa. When I purchased it I was the 2nd owner and the car had 44,000 miles on it. I barely used it because my job had me working 8 am to sometimes well after midnight. My work installing carpet and flooring in peoples houses finally herniated 3 discs in my lumbar spine and I can barely leave my house let alone drive a car now. I love the car but it is of no use if I don't drive it. The engine purrs like a kitten and the air is Ice cold. It has heated seats, not that we need them in Florida. I also have the original stock 16 inch aluminum rims that look brand new with 4 brand new Michelin tires on them which also come with the car. The cars paint is in pristine condition and those who ask what year it is are usually dumbfounded. I am asking $5800 for the fact of its super low miles clean interior, paint.and the work done to her (NEW AC COMPRESSOR, ALTERNATOR. THERMOSTAT, WATER PUMP, SERPENTINE BELT, UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS,UPPER SHOCK TOWER BUSHINGS, AND BATTERY IS 2 MONTHS OLD) All work was done professionally by either Mastro Subaru where I originally purchased the vehicle. or Crown Jaguar in St.Petersberg or Aston Martin/ Jaguar of Tampa..Thank you for looking. Please contact me at (813)-814-0783 if interested. Thank you, John The original receipts are so faded because of the extreme heat the interior of Florida cars reach but I am sure I can have the Jaguar dealerships where the thousands of dollars of work were done. Fax me the original receipts. Thanks again for looking, PS Almost forgot to mention the Traction Control, Automatic Windshield Wiper,Auto Headlamps,Auto Seats W/3 Memory Positions and 6 way power adjustable seats. Both driver and passenger seats have these functions. 6 Disc Alpine Stereo System with Steering Wheel Controls and Alpine Speakers throughout, Moon Roof ,New 20Inch tires all around and 6 Disc Alpine Stereo System with 6 speakers and 1 8 inch Sony X-Plod Sub Woofer. Also has Automatic Rear View Mirror. Example: If someone rides your butt with their bright lights on. The mirror will automatically move on its own so you will not be blinded. The Auto wipers slow in a light drizzle and go very fast during heavy down pours. The auto headlights turn on automatically at dusk and turn themselves off in daylight conditions. Even the side view mirrors have 3 memory positions. 100% Theft Proof Alarm System. Glass Protection, Tow Protection. There are just so many specialty features this $60,000.00 car had in 2000. I guess that is why it was so expensive. I know Jaguars have always had a bad reputation, but once Bosch and the Germans took over the electronics in 96 and gave Lucas the boot. It lost its nickname (Jagwire) Everything I just mentioned works 100%. Please come test drive this 300 horsepower Luxury Sports Sedan. You will not be disappointed. The Kelly Blue Book value on this car is between $7,000 and $12,000 My asking price is very low and also very firm. The title is a clean Florida Title with no liens. Car has been paid for in full since 2009. The odometer on the car is just about to reach 67,000 miles. I have the 4 Stock 16 Inch Aluminum Alloy Rims with 4 Brand New Michelin Tires mounted and balanced. If the 20 inch rims I have on now turn you off. Please let me know and I will gladly change them. Buying the car without the 20's does not lower the price at all. The $5800 asking price is $1200 less than the $7000 I was originally asking for it. Hard times call for drastic price reductions. This is one of them. Thanks again for looking, John (813)-814-0783 or Cell (913)-760-8559

2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake Quick Spin Review | Special XF no more
Mon, Jun 4 2018The 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake is a wagon, and as such, one must praise its existence. We need more of them. It looks sensational in all its long-roofed glory, especially in Firenze Red and the gloss black exterior trim package — yowza. Plus, its cargo area is deep, wide and generally voluminous. It would be nice if Jaguar included a roll-up net partition for dogs or to prevent high-mounted cargo from flying forward (as Audi does in the Allroad), but nevertheless, the XF Sportbrake should be more functional than many crossover SUVs. It should certainly be more enjoyable to drive, as the XF delivers with Jag's usual steering excellence and body control. While other midsize luxury sedans have drifted away from the sporting realm (cough, BMW 5 Series), the XF maintains its engagement with the driver. As we discovered when driven back-to-back with the Volvo V90, it's one of the sportiest of sport wagons. It's definitely the sportiest of Sportbrakes. However, it's the "XF" bit that disappoints. The original XF was really something when it debuted, featuring seductively sleek styling in a segment of serious German sedans. The distinctive cabin put on a show with rotating air vents and a rotary shifter that rose into your hand upon pressing the start button. The fact that the XF was different inside and outside from its fellow Jaguars also differed from the Russian nesting doll design approach of its competitors. The original wasn't without flaws, but it was special. This 2018 XF just isn't. The cabin is the biggest problem, as it looks identical to those of the cheaper XE and F-Pace SUV, and is pretty unremarkable and, well, dull to behold. Even the "show" elements that have survived seem vestigial now, as only the outer air vents rotate and the shifter no longer rises into your hand since the starter has migrated elsewhere. More concerning, though, is that the materials are just not up to the segment standards, and certainly not in keeping with a test car that has a sticker of $84,815. For instance, the old XF could be fitted with soft leather covering the doors and the broad, downward sloping dash. The new one has coarsely grained pleather. Then there's the matter of functionality. The rotary shifter in the original XF was certainly part of the "show" but it also freed up significant space on the center console for three cupholders/bins. The new one resides in an expanse of wood trim the size of a shift boot, leaving no room for that third cupholder/bin.
Jaguar will build 9 XKSS continuation cars at $1.4m each
Wed, Mar 23 2016The Jaguar D-Type was, for its time, a cutting-edge race car. It was also a car that could, theoretically, drive from Jaguar's Browns Lane factory to the race in France and back. This was an era in which top-tier race cars weren't all that different from their road-going counterparts. You couldn't really do the same in an Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro, now could you? The XKSS was a D-Type with the barest nod to road-going conveniences, like proper wind protection. With some unsold D-Type racers cluttering up the shop after three successive Le Mans wins, Jaguar converted 16 into XKSS spec, and had more in the works. It wasn't a comprehensive transformation, really. A windshield and a passenger door were added; a cabin partition and the striking fin behind the driver were removed. Otherwise, it wasn't much different than the all-conquering Le Mans-winners. And then tragedy struck. A fire destroyed nine of the cars, and the company never picked up where it left off after the mess was cleaned up. Hence Jaguar aficionados, and the company itself, keenly felt the absence of the "lost" cars. After the success of the continuation E-Type lightweights built by the Jaguar Classic division of Special Operations, the company will finish the run. Nine cars will be hand-crafted for a select group of customers and collectors, much as the company did for the lightweights. Jaguar expects the cars to fetch more than $1.5 million each. Considering the mystique of these "lost" cars, and the fact that Steve McQueen is heavily associated with the XKSS, they may trade hands for considerably more after the initial owners part with them. Jaguar expects to start delivering the continuation XKSS cars early next year. Related Video: New York Auto Show Jaguar Convertible Performance Classics jaguar special operations jaguar xkss
More than 30 vintage Jaguars found, forgotten for decades in a greenhouse
Thu, Dec 5 2019A long, long time ago, some unnamed person realized that storing motorized precious metals in a barn would eventually be passe. This visionary hoarder decided, instead, to collect an assemblage of more than 30 vintage Jaguars in a greenhouse in Beaulieu, England. To passers-by, it would look like someone was tending a crop of blue tarps. To us, thanks to Beaulieu Garage, it looks not like a barn find but rather the first "greenhouse find." The classic car restoration shop wrote in a Facebook post, "we were asked to help clear a private collection of cars," and when Beaulieu Garage saw the array, "An offer was made," and now it has a whole lot of rusted metal looking for good homes. It took a week to get everything out, and the shop said the "parts alone have taken up 12 storage racks, with engines and gearboxes included." While a barn isn't the best place to park a car for decades, a greenhouse is arguably worse. The glass house is a combination of maximum UV levels and rain forest humidity, the ambient moisture free to rust and rot everything the sun can't kill. And early Jaguars aren't known for robust defenses against the elements. Most of the cars are E-Types, many of those the early and more elegant 1960s models. Among the trove are some cars that "you could probably get running in a couple of days," but the photos show there are plenty of long-term projects that rate effort comparable to The Pacific Campaign. Incredibly, Beaulieu Garage is confident that "All will see the road again," assuming the worst problem children can find empathetic buyers. The first salable car has been listed, a left-hand drive, 1960 XK150 3.8-Liter Drophead Coupe with matching numbers that was originally sent to New York. This is said to be the last XK150 the factory painted a cream color, and the fourth-last XK150 ever built. Scraps of the red leather interior remain, the sand colored top looks to be in the same condition. After eight years in the greenhouse, Beaulieu Garage charmingly describes the XK's previous digs as "Dry Stored in the UK." The convertible comes with a heritage certificate, and will cost GBP40,000 ($52,654 U.S.) to trailer home. A Facebook post from today says the shop will get parts lists and pricing up shortly, so stay tuned if you have a lot of time and money you need to find occupations for.
