Up for sale is a super clean. Very well maintained 2000 Jaguar XJ8L with a very low 66,000 miles. Not many 13 year old Jaguars can boast of this. I changed the oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic oils every 3000 miles since I purchased it in 2005 from Mastro Subaru in Tampa. When I purchased it I was the 2nd owner and the car had 44,000 miles on it. I barely used it because my job had me working 8 am to sometimes well after midnight. My work installing carpet and flooring in peoples houses finally herniated 3 discs in my lumbar spine and I can barely leave my house let alone drive a car now. I love the car but it is of no use if I don't drive it. The engine purrs like a kitten and the air is Ice cold. It has heated seats, not that we need them in Florida. I also have the original stock 16 inch aluminum rims that look brand new with 4 brand new Michelin tires on them which also come with the car. The cars paint is in pristine condition and those who ask what year it is are usually dumbfounded. I am asking $5800 for the fact of its super low miles clean interior, paint.and the work done to her (NEW AC COMPRESSOR, ALTERNATOR. THERMOSTAT, WATER PUMP, SERPENTINE BELT, UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS,UPPER SHOCK TOWER BUSHINGS, AND BATTERY IS 2 MONTHS OLD) All work was done professionally by either Mastro Subaru where I originally purchased the vehicle. or Crown Jaguar in St.Petersberg or Aston Martin/ Jaguar of Tampa..Thank you for looking. Please contact me at (813)-814-0783 if interested. Thank you, John The original receipts are so faded because of the extreme heat the interior of Florida cars reach but I am sure I can have the Jaguar dealerships where the thousands of dollars of work were done. Fax me the original receipts. Thanks again for looking, PS Almost forgot to mention the Traction Control, Automatic Windshield Wiper,Auto Headlamps,Auto Seats W/3 Memory Positions and 6 way power adjustable seats. Both driver and passenger seats have these functions. 6 Disc Alpine Stereo System with Steering Wheel Controls and Alpine Speakers throughout, Moon Roof ,New 20Inch tires all around and 6 Disc Alpine Stereo System with 6 speakers and 1 8 inch Sony X-Plod Sub Woofer. Also has Automatic Rear View Mirror. Example: If someone rides your butt with their bright lights on. The mirror will automatically move on its own so you will not be blinded. The Auto wipers slow in a light drizzle and go very fast during heavy down pours. The auto headlights turn on automatically at dusk and turn themselves off in daylight conditions. Even the side view mirrors have 3 memory positions. 100% Theft Proof Alarm System. Glass Protection, Tow Protection. There are just so many specialty features this $60,000.00 car had in 2000. I guess that is why it was so expensive. I know Jaguars have always had a bad reputation, but once Bosch and the Germans took over the electronics in 96 and gave Lucas the boot. It lost its nickname (Jagwire) Everything I just mentioned works 100%. Please come test drive this 300 horsepower Luxury Sports Sedan. You will not be disappointed. The Kelly Blue Book value on this car is between $7,000 and $12,000 My asking price is very low and also very firm. The title is a clean Florida Title with no liens. Car has been paid for in full since 2009. The odometer on the car is just about to reach 67,000 miles. I have the 4 Stock 16 Inch Aluminum Alloy Rims with 4 Brand New Michelin Tires mounted and balanced. If the 20 inch rims I have on now turn you off. Please let me know and I will gladly change them. Buying the car without the 20's does not lower the price at all. The $5800 asking price is $1200 less than the $7000 I was originally asking for it. Hard times call for drastic price reductions. This is one of them. Thanks again for looking, John (813)-814-0783 or Cell (913)-760-8559

2018 Jaguar F-Type 2.0T First Drive Review | Less soulful, still sexy
Tue, Jun 19 2018Jaguar is eager to promote its Ingenium turbocharged inline-four as a legitimate object of performance desire, and what better way to do so than drop it into its most desirous car? The 2018 Jaguar F-Type Coupe to this point has featured six- and eight-cylinder engines, all supercharged, but this is the first time that the other type of forced induction has made its way under the F-Type's long, sculpted hood. The new pairing looks pretty good on paper. The 2.0-liter engine's 295 pound-feet of torque is available from 1,500 to 4,500 RPM. It makes 296 horsepower at 5,500 RPM, 44 horsepower shy of the blown V6 model, but weighs 117 pounds less. That's enough to motivate the 3,360-pound F-Type to 60 mph in the mid-5-second range, only 0.3 seconds behind said V6. The 2.0-liter is also a lot cheaper – $8,100 less than a bare-bones V6. That'll probably make the decision for a lot of folks, dropping the base F-Type into a whole 'nother class of sporty two-seaters. I'll posit, however, that the F-Type isn't a raw numbers car. It's a passionate thing that appeals to an emotional part of our brain. Just look at it! The coupe we tested, in Fuji White, was fresh as a mountain stream despite the platform's age. The sheetmetal is, quite simply, most of the appeal. Even the base wheels, 18-inch, 10-spoke alloys, look phenomenal. And since the F-Type 2.0 is sexy, undeniably quick enough to back up its sporting looks, and a significant price savings over a V6, it's almost a killer app. If only the little Ingenium turbo-four was as passionate as the F-Type itself. It's a workaday unit, coarse and gruff. After all, it sees duty in just about everything else Jaguar-Land Rover makes, from the lowly Discovery Sport to the big XJ. Its clattery four-cylinder noises and thrashiness don't jibe with the premium sports-touring vibe the rest of the car exudes. We've gotten used to, if not come to universally love, four-cylinder pony cars like the Mustang and Camaro, but the divergence in character between car and powerplant here is vast. It does the job, sure, but you enjoy the F-Type in spite of its engine, rather than because of it. Low-speed tractability issues don't help things any, whether the engine's charms are important to you or not. An odd combination of boost, driveline shunt, or transmission confusion make low-speed maneuvering jerky, regardless of drive mode. Putz around a mall parking lot or sit in traffic for a few minutes, and it'll be clear what I'm on about.
New Jaguar F-Type to launch — maybe literally — with Hot Wheels' help
Tue, Nov 26 2019An updated and redesigned Jaguar F-Type is going to be revealed Dec. 2, which is less than a week away at this point. The info comes to us via a tweet from Jaguar, teasing out the reveal with a video. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Update: For a split second, the new F-Type appears to be flashed up onto the screen. We screenshot the video and pasted the photo down below. The side profile is similar to the previous F-Type, which comes as no surprise to us after seeing the spy shots. We can see the red LED taillight and a hint of the headlight design from the photo, too. The most intriguing part of this tweet is at the end, where Jaguar says it’s going to reveal the F-Type in partnership with Hot Wheels. Jaguar and Hot Wheels are not the most obvious of pairings at first, but both have a penchant for theatrics and stunts. Jaguar launched the tiny E-Pace with a barrel roll, completing a 270-degree corkscrew jump and launching it through 50 feet of open air. Nobody was expecting that. WeÂ’re not sure what to expect from the F-Type launch event, but the teaser video shows a Hot Wheels track with a loop. Will Jaguar try and top themselves? WeÂ’re not sure, but itÂ’s worth a watch on Dec. 2 to find out. As for what the actual car will be like, weÂ’ve seen several sets of spy shots (above). The most recent set places the Jaguar on the Nurburgring for track testing. Jaguar hasnÂ’t messed with the F-TypeÂ’s design much since it launched earlier this decade, but thatÂ’s no complaint. Even today, the F-Type is one of the best looking sports cars on sale. And even though Ian Callum isnÂ’t around anymore, weÂ’re sure he had a hand in this redesign. Expect a new interior, updated powertrains and more performance from the F-Type in its updated form next week.Â
RM Sotheby's 2015 Monterey auction sets records
Sun, Aug 16 2015RM Sotheby's wrapped up three days of beautiful cars crossing the block during Monterey Car Week with a company record of $172.7 million in vehicles sold. The first day's Pinnacle Portfolio collection alone brought in $75.4 million, a new high for a one-day, single-vendor auction. While nothing ever topped the $17.6 million 1964 Ferrari 250 LM, the hammer continued to fall on some very expensive vehicles each day. Expected to clear over $11 million, the sale of a 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione 'Tour de France' easily managed that with a final price of $13.2 million. Multiple bidders on the phone and in the room desperately wanted this famous racer, and it drove the price up. To make this thoroughbred worth the lavish amount, the coupe won the 1956 Tour de France series of events and was among seven with this body by Scaglietti. Many of the top sellers came from the first night's Pinnacle Portfolio, but records continued to be broken over the weekend. Notably, a 1953 Jaguar C-Type Works Lightweight brought $13.2 million to make it the most expensive Jag ever at auction. Also among RM Sotheby's top sellers were a 1950 Ferrari 275S/340 America Barchetta at $7.975 million and a 1952 Jaguar XK120 Supersonic for $2,062,500. Take a look at a few of these special vehicles in the gallery above. HISTORIC FERRARI 250 GT 'TOUR DE FRANCE' LEADS THIRD NIGHT OF RECORD SALES AT RM SOTHEBY'S MONTEREY World's largest collector car auction house concludes three day event with more than $172.7 million in auction and post-auction sales MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA (August 15, 2015) - A historic 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione 'Tour de France' set a new auction record for the model tonight, selling for an outstanding $13.2 million before another packed house at RM Sotheby's Monterey event. Spurring a lively bidding contest between multiple collectors in the room and on the telephones, the influential Ferrari is the actual car that instituted the 'Tour de France' nomenclature following its overall victory at that legendary race in 1956. The fifth of only seven Scaglietti-bodied first-series competition berlinettas, it was sold new to the Marquis Alfonso de Portago, the flamboyant and daring Spanish driver, who, joined by his close friend Ed Nelson, piloted to car to first place overall at the 1956 Tour de France Auto.
