Jaguar Vanden Plas 1995 Totally original & excellent condition with low miles! This is a beautiful condition first of the model run Jaguar Vanden Plas finished in classic British Racing Green over biscuit tan Connolly hide leather with off-white seat piping. The waistrail is finished with a hand-painted fine-line in Sherwood green. The colour combination is quintessentially Jaguar and looks stunning. This Vanden Plas is a 2 owner from new and now showing some
93,000* odd miles. It ranks "off the chart" on Autocheck at 64 on a scale of 36-62 (see full report in pix below). The Vanden Plas is the ultimate of the XJ series (X-300) and represents the top of the line in luxury for Jaguar in its year. It is indeed a very well looked after example that is totally original in presentation. It scores very The Vanden Plas was distinguished from its siblings by the individual styled seats, full leather interior (including door arm-rests, map-pockets console, etc), unique burl-walnut wood and teak fine lines on the dash and door cappings. It has rear seat picnic tables (also with teak in-lays), full length console to the rear, additional chrome, additional courtesy lights, all of which are unique fitments to the Vanden Plas series. The interior of this example is in excellent condition with the burl walnut looking beautiful without any fading or damage. The clear lacquer finish on the wood has only a few hairline marks on the front passenger door and some hardly noticeable on the console (see pictures) but is otherwise excellent. The Connolly hide leather seats are factory condition soft and supple with no stains, wear marks or tears. The headlining drooped at the rear window but has been reaffixed and there are no cracks in the dash or rear parcel shelf. The steering wheel is perfect with no wear. The interior truly is stunning and is very clean and true throughout. The paint is in very nice with only minor imperfections and small marks. The most noticeable are closely photographed and in the picture link. It is very shiny and consistent and presents perfectly for driver use. For driver purposes, on a scale out of 10, I would rate the paint as an easy 8-9. Mechanically the car is very sound with brand new thin whitewall and correct size 225/60/16 tyres mounted on later model Vanden Plas V12 wheels. The car drives smooth, strong and quietly. Recent maintenance included front bushings, brakes and general service. There are no warning lights on the dash and all is good to go. The A/C blows cold and heater nice and toasty. Every single instrument, feature and function are in working condition. This is an immaculate Jaguar Vanden Plas with good miles and makes for an excellent everyday or weekend driver. It far exceeds average condition examples and comfortably rates as a virtual 10 out of 10 driver condition which earns it regular compliments. Please note, this is my regular daily driver so miles will vary at time of delivery. ~~ This Vanden Plas Jaguar
is in stunning original condition and makes for a wonderful everyday driver at
a relatively affordable price. ~~ Please see additional photos at the link below. Click HERE to see additional photos! ~~oo00oo~~ **PLEASE
read auction terms and conditions below BEFORE bidding.** ~~oo00oo~~ This Jaguar is part of a private collection. Although licensed and
bonded, I am not a main-stream retail car dealer or broker; I am a professional
car collector of some 30 years with considerable experience and knowledge of British
cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the Rolls-Royce marque
which I take seriously. I take pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and
restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or
offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a
binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the
terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me
to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection
contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid or make an offer and I openly
welcome any potential buyer to come and personally inspect the car. Once you
bid or make an offer, you are doing so to buy WITHOUT conditions. Your bid can
not be subject to anything. A $2000.00 deposit (non-refundable) is required
within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance
of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be
provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the
balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment
must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is
released. All payments are non-refundable. Payments as described above form an
important part of this purchase contract and so, if all the funds are not
received as outlined above, I reserve the right to terminate the transaction
without notice. If there has been any deposit or other part payments received
and I elect to terminate the contract, I reserve the right to keep any such
deposits or payments and resell the vehicle to another bidder or interested
party or re-list the vehicle at any time. To be clear, if you change your mind
for ANY reason and do not complete the transaction in the time-frame required,
you will forfeit your deposit. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements
on a national and worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full
responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. The
vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed,
written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with
reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and
accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are
not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be
responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects
herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. If any aspect of the
description contradicts what can be seen in the photos, then the photos shall
prevail as the reference point. No allowance or set aside will be made on
account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is
the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition
and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will
make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s
request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for
any repairs regardless of any written or oral statements about the vehicle.
Being a classic car in excess of 10 years of age, in most PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, CONTACT ME
BEFORE YOU CONTEMPLATE DOING SO AS, RESPECTFULLY, THERE CAN BE NO EXCEPTIONS. I
am sorry if these terms seem harsh but there seem to be some very unrealistic
buyers out there - fortunately, only few of these people exist but those that
do can make life difficult, so it appears EVERYTHING needs to spelled out. Very
simply put, this is an old car being offered for sale. It is not new and is
subject to the perils of age. Further, Jaguars are not without nuances,
idiosyncrasies and they are renown for a host of design issues which can make
them not inexpensive to maintain. So, please respect the terms and conditions
when you bid. ~~oo00oo~~ |

Jaguar unveils a Touring version of the XE SV Project 8 super sedan
Wed, Jun 5 2019Jaguar produced just 300 examples of the bonkers XE SV Project 8 super sedan. Now, it's going to build 15 more, but in a new street-spec Touring form. It's essentially the same as the track-spec version, but you lose the extreme aero elements. If you remember the Project 8 from a couple years ago, you know it has an adjustable carbon fiber wing sitting atop the decklid. This one just has a small lip spoiler, giving it a more discreet look. Additionally, the adjustable front splitter is swapped for a smaller fixed one that is less likely to scrape on everything you encounter on the road. Finally, Jaguar removed the aggressive decals, but you're allowed to put those back on optionally if you so choose. The Touring retains the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 making 592 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. That's good for a 0-60 mph run in just 3.3 seconds. There is some bad news for those angling for the highest top speed, though. Jaguar limits the wingless Touring to just 186 mph, whereas the more stable, regular SV Project 8 is allowed to hit 200 mph. Another bit exclusive to the Touring is the required four-seat configuration. You were able to option the standard car with a half roll cage in place of the rear seats. But hey, don't you want to drive your friends around in your stupid-fast Jaguar? Weirdly enough, the Touring is actually a hair more expensive than the standard car. You'll be looking at a standard price of just over $190,000 to the regular car's $187,500 starting price. The difference is negligible at that point, and the Touring will actually be far more exclusive than the already limited standard Project 8. We certainly like the looks of the Touring version — it reminds us of the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring in nature and purpose, and there's a whole lot to love about that car. Jaguar says that even though it's only making 15 of them, some slots are still open for ordering. If the most powerful Jag without a wing strikes your fancy, we'd recommend getting in touch with Jaguar sooner rather than later.
V12-powered Jaguar E-Type Series 3 the restomod treatment from UK firm
Thu, Jul 1 2021As Jaguar tries to figure out its future, a growing number of aftermarket companies are reinventing its past. British restoration shop E-Type UK is the latest company to announce a restomod program for the popular sports car released in 1961. It's working with later Series 3 models, which is a little unusual, and it leaves no part untouched. E-Type UK starts every Unleashed project with a donor car; it doesn't build an E-Type from scratch. After strengthening the basic platform, it bores out the V12's cylinders to increase its displacement to 6.1 liters, 800 cubic centimeters more than stock. Additional modifications, like an electronic fuel-injection system and a free-flowing exhaust system, boost the engine's output to 400 horsepower, and a five-speed manual transmission sends the cavalry to the rear wheels. Four-piston front brake calipers ensure the Unleashed stops as well as it goes. With the engine finished and tuned, E-Type UK turns its attention to the chassis. It fits the E-Type with technology the original model could only dream of, like fully adjustable shock absorbers. Wire wheels are standard equipment, they fit the car's sleek profile well, but their diameter increases slightly to 16 inches to clear the bigger brakes. Designers restyled the bumpers, the grille, and the exterior emblems, though the changes are relatively subtle, and they added LED headlights to give the E-Type the visibility of a modern car. Inside, the only limit is the thickness of the buyer's wallet. Anything is possible; the options include different types of leather upholstery and various trim options. Heated seats, LED lighting, a push-button ignition, Bluetooth connectivity, and a surround-sound system are among the equipment added by E-Type UK to encourage future owners to drive their Unleashed often. All told, each build requires at least 4,000 hours of labor, which partially explains why pricing starts at GBP325,000 (around $447,600 at the current conversion rate) before the cost of a donor car enters the equation. For context, that money could buy you two examples of the Lamborghini Huracan Evo and a garage to keep them in, a small plane, or 447 examples of your favorite $1,000 econobox. And yet, we doubt E-Type UK will have a difficult time finding clients. Restomods are a big trend in the industry, some are even Volvo-based, and they're never cheap. Jaguar is ready for the future, and its cars look the part thanks to Ian Callum
Tue, Jun 4 2019There are few living legends in the car business. Jaguar design director Ian Callum is one of them. The longtime stylist announced Tuesday he's stepping down after a decorated career that's seen the resurgence of Jaguar and its again superlative design. Callum, who turns 65 in July, has overseen Jaguar design for 20 years and shepherded it from an era of mediocrity and uncertainty to success with its current lineup of eye-catching products. The brand's 1990s and 2000s cars, led by the haggard X-Type, were too-often forgettable. But in the last decade, Callum has completely flipped the script, returning Jaguar to its sports-car roots with the F-Type while embracing the new period of electric vehicles and crossovers. "Yesterday I told my team I was leaving as Design Director for Jaguar after 20 years. I've done what I set out to do. Time for a new adventure. I pass the baton onto my good friend and great designer Julian Thomson...." Callum tweeted Tuesday. Thompson, a 19-year veteran of Jaguar takes the reins from Callum, who is staying on as a consultant. The move takes effect July 1. As Callum notes, it's not a retirement, though he didn't elaborate. "Given the strength of both our products and the design team I feel that now is the right time to move on, both personally and professionally, and explore other design projects," he said in a statement. The Scottish-born designer studied at the Royal College of Art and was steeped in the tradition of Jaguar and British cars. He had every reason to resist change. He didn't, instead evolving his dream job into an instrument of evolution, and today Jaguar has the most well-rounded portfolio in its history. With EVs like the I-Pace the brand has an elegant and efficient car capable of taking down Tesla, while the F-Pace and E-Pace crossovers are bringing Jaguar to a new kind of customer. "In my view, the World Car Design of the Year winning F-Type, F-Pace and I-Pace – true game changers – are perhaps his greatest achievements. I believe they will be future icons," Jaguar Land Rover chief executive Ralf Speth said in a statement. Through it all, Callum never lost focus on Jaguar's sense of purpose. Along with Aston Martin, McLaren and Rolls-Royce, Jaguar holds a place in Britain's car culture and broader identity. He recognized when Jaguar rolled out a sports car openly tapped as the successor to the E-type – and then called it the F-Type – it carried the weight of history on its aluminum chassis.
