24 years documentation since new. All original.  Excellent Condition. Rare color combo. Everything works!  Last production year of the Series III. Only Jaguar model designed by Pinninfarina. For more detail, read the detailed history report that follows this short summary:

1987 is the last production year for the XJ6 Series III. The Series III is the only Jaguar model ever to be designed by Pininfarina of Italy. As a Vanden Plas, it is even rarer. And this XJ6's superb condition is testimony to the care provided by the original San Francisco socialite who got the car as a gift from her husband (along with a mink coat in junk)! The paint and body condition is near perfect. The Satin Beige metallic color and Doeskin Connelly leather interior are both rare and highly desirable. Its leather and wood interior finishes are also in excellent condition; no rips, cracks, punctures, or tears (save a quarter-size scrape on the far left corner of the back bench seat which is a minor repair through an upholstery shop). The wood has been well maintained with its original deep African walnut luster; no warping, cracking or breaks in the clear coat.

The car has zero rust and no mechanical or electronic issues.  EVERYTHING WORKS! The service records for the vehicle are VERY complete with receipts and service detail for virtually every interval or repair since it was originally sold.  Since my ownership in the last year, it has received extensive maintenance to include transmission servicing and new rear end including Jaguar-brand springs, adjustable gas shocks, ceramic brake pads, Bremo rotors, Girling caliper kits, radius arm bushings, cage mounts, differential seal and output bearing, crush sleeve, grade 8 bolts & Ny-locks, exhaust sealing rings and more.

Other service performed and documented in the last 2,000 miles includes front end work such as: front brake rotors, front brake pads, front sub-frame mounts, lower ball joint, steering rack mounts, master brake cylinder, cam follower kit, alternator, alternator belt, four front upper shock bushings, two fuel solenoids, trip computer, re-veneered center console, AC expansion-valve, headlight  relay, window lockout switch, right-front door lock actuator, two speedometer transducers, four drive belts, air pump hose, rebuilt AC compressor, two wiper blades, oil cap, oil filter, air filter and oil and lube service.

The original dealer sticker is included in the vehicle's extensive documentation (new car dealer invoice--$45,668 out-the-door with Dayton Chrome Wire Wheels) with all of the original Jaguar owner's manuals, booklets and service logs (with dealer's stamps). Even the original Jaguar audio introductory cassette and cassette cleaning kit are included along with the original three sets of keys on leather Jaguar-issue key rings.

All in all, it adds up to a driving experience that is likely better than the day it was manufactured. In short, it would be hard to find a more original XJ6 Series 3 Jaguar or one that has been so well cared for and serviced. The local Central Arizona Jaguar Club "chief of concours judging" states that it's one of the best he's reviewed. He further states that it is sure to be a top concours competitor should one desire to enter it into competition. And while most XJ6 Jaguars have a sagging backend, this vehicle sits at the height specified by the factory.  This XJ6 shifts smoothly, accelerates steadily to deliver an opulent ride and quiet ride like no other. And wherever it stops, a crowd gathers.

The bottom line; this auction winner will receive real value. In 2012, Bonham auction in Scottsdale sold an XJ6 S-3 for $27,500! In short, this is the right time to buy a collector-quality XJ6 Series III. But finding one with this much documented history (buyer receives a three-ring binder full of receipts and historical repair documentation), recent extensive maintenance and life-long care is extraordinarily rare indeed!

Jaguar F-Type 'Design Study' headed to Goodwood

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

With the Goodwood Festival of Speed taking place this weekend, Jaguar has announced it will be there with its new trio of R models as well as a design study version of the hot new F-Type sports car. While we've already seen the XFR-S last year at the LA Auto Show and the XJR and XKR-S GT at the New York Auto Show, the F-Type design study has our attention.
Based on our recent sighting of a fixed-roof F-Type being tested in full camouflage, this could mean that we'll finally get to see a sexy F-Type Coupe in near-production form. Of course, with all of the other R branded models on display, Jaguar could also unveil a sporty new R - or maybe even an RS - F-Type roadster. Whatever is planned, it will not be a static display - Jaguar says the design study car will be in action, making the fabled run up Goodwood Hill with chief engineer Mike Cross at the wheel. Scroll down for more information about what Jaguar has planned for Goodwood.

Jaguar turns down offers to join V8 Supercars, questions AMG, Volvo participation

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Jaguar may be the next manufacturer to join the V8 Supercars racing series, made popular in Australia but now well-known in other parts of the world as well. Sadly, Jag's participation is not to be. In fact, it would be "insane," according to Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific Managing Director David Blackhall, for it to accept either of the two offers it has received to bring Jaguar into V8 Supercars.
Not only is Jaguar not interested in entering V8 Supercars, says Blackhall, it also fails to understand the recent entries from AMG and Volvo. "I don't know what it does for AMG to get flogged by a V8 Commodore week after week, but it's their brand, their issue. And the same thing will happen to Volvo to be honest."
Judging by Blackhall's statements to motoring.com.au, after not-so-serious consideration, the automaker decided the monetary commitment it would take to compete for wins would be more than any potential exposure would be worth, despite the fact that Jaguar has a 5.0-liter V8 to go along with what would seem to be a tailor-made rear-wheel-drive chassis. For what it's worth, one offer would have had Jaguar putting its name across an engine made by someone else, an option that was flatly turned down.

Jaguar hints at what might become of XK after F-Type's arrival

Wed, 02 Jan 2013

Jaguar may move the company's XK further upmarket following the introduction of its forthcoming F-Type. The newcomer to the range easily shoulders the burden of carrying the Jaguar sportscar mantle, freeing up the XK to evolve in another direction. While speaking with Autocar, Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum said there's an opportunity to grow the grand tourer both in size and luxury.
Whether that means the vehicle will retain its two-plus-two seating configuration or swell to offer buyers even more space remains to be seen. Either way, the future will likely see the XK soften its claws moving forward. And that's no bad thing. Jaguar has a long history of building luxurious grand tourers more content to soak up miles of highway than bounce from apex to apex.
What else is in store for the brand? Callum seems to have kept his cards close to his chest, refusing to acknowledge ongoing rumors of a Jaguar crossover beyond saying the brand "had to take notice" of the popularity of the luxury SUV market.
