I purchased this car last year to use as a daily driver (pd $4200 & invested in new: Good Year tires, headliner, starter and more. Car ran great including one big interstate trip (3 hrs), then one day coming home the head gasket blew. I had heard this was a common outcome as the car approached 100K miles. I have decided not to keep the car as I don't have time to put into it. (The head gasket has not been repaired). It has been starting up with no issue. Car is sold as is…. The car has aprox. 100k miles & has been starting up fine despite the bad gasket, the car is complete with the exception that someone stole the rear trunk emblems (jaguar & xj6) off which were held on with an adhesive to the car. The A/C & Heat were working when I was driving it, the car is stock, (Air pump, emissions etc in place). It was passing Wi inspection up to 2 yrs ago. I bought it via a dealer (took it on a trade from what appears to be the original owner), who also had it serviced by the dealer. Title (my name), excellent tan interior & dash, straight body, decent paint BUT some rust where pans meet trans tunnel & where they meet the jack point, pans appear otherwise solid it’s just the welds that have decayed. This car could make someone a great V8 conversion or simply repair the headgasket and keep it stock. If I was going to swap to a Chevy 350 I would repair the floor pan welds while the engine and trans were out. Otherwise the floor carpet could be removed and the pans tacked back to the tunnel and jack points. Paint is in fair condition, but some general tidying can keep the car looking fine as is. The interior and dash will impress anyone as they are in great shape. (Tan leather being quite desirable). If someone wants a the car for a V8 conversion I may be willing to pull the motor and trans keep them for a modest reduction in price. Car is priced very low for quick sale, payment is due at end of auction, please don’t bid if you are not sure you want the car & feel free to ask me questions. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer, but I am happy to work with your shipper to get it loaded or deliver it within an hour of southwest michigan. VIN: SAJAV1345HC465363 |

Evo pits Jaguar XKR-S vs. Mercedes SL63 AMG in heavyweight droptop fight
Wed, 12 Mar 2014We recently received the sad news that the Jaguar XK is ceasing production by the end of the year, but what better way to bid it farewell than with some big, smoky powerslides? The retirement of the sporty GT isn't actually the topic of the latest video from Evo - it's on hand to compete against the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG to see which is faster around a track. Still, we can think of it as a wonderful sendoff for the Jag.
Both convertible grand tourers get their laps around the course, and they couldn't be more different. Driver Jethro Bovingdon gets some grins out of them both, but absolutely giggles while behind the wheel of the XKR-S convertible. The SL63 AMG is the more powerful of the two, but as we know, that doesn't always matter at a racetrack. You'll just have to scroll down and watch the video to see which of them is actually the winner.
Jaguar's electric XJ sedan spied playing (again) in the snow
Thu, Mar 5 2020UPDATE: A much better set of spy shots hit our inboxes this morning, so we've updated this story with the new photos. As you can see, we have a pretty complete set of photographs showing the new all-electric Jaguar XJ from pretty much every angle. The first set of spy photos can be seen further down below The original story continues: The image gallery above represents our best look yet of the soon-to-be-reborn Jaguar XJ. Unlike the sedan's first 50 or so years, this one is electric, which makes sense considering the original mission statement for Jag's flagship people hauler was to be an "eXperimental Jaguar." The automaker has already told us that the electrified XJ will ride atop the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) platform as "the world's first, full-electric luxury sports saloon," as they've apparently forgotten that Tesla and the Porsche Taycan already exist. Unfortunately, the shots we have to share with you today aren't great — the photographer suggests the driver of the big cat was quite adept at eluding his lens — but unlike the last time it's at least moving (quickly) under its own power and we can definitely make out a very slinky four-door shape. This is going to be a very large car, which makes sense considering it'll share its MLA guts with upcoming SUVs from corporate cousin Land Rover. Judging by the cutlines in the camouflage at the rear, it appears to be a five-door hatchback shell, a form it will share with the Tesla Model S. That same camo covers most of the lighting elements, so we're not sure how close they conform to the teaser you can see here. Jaguar has said that vehicles based on the MLA platform will get 90.2-kWh battery packs capable of up to 292 miles of range, though those estimates would be lower on U.S. testing cycles. The chassis has been built to accept internal combustion engines and hybrids, too, a necessary compromise if the next XJ is going to fully compete with Jaguar's German rivals. We can't say if this particular prototype is all electric or if there's an engine resting underhood, but the big covered grille opening suggests cooling won't be an issue either way. Related Video:
Latest Jaguar XJ snaps show old versus new
Wed, 19 Mar 2014It is a rare day when automakers line up their current models and test cars right next to each other and allow us to compare them directly. However, Jaguar ending up doing just that during cold weather testing of the face lifted XJ, providing the perfect chance to see just what the company is changing.
We spotted the refreshed XJ testing last year, and it hasn't evolved much since then. The updated model sports clear turn signals and a slightly revised front air dam. The modifications are similarly minor at the rear. The bumper appears to dip down slightly further on the new sedan. Thankfully, those gorgeous taillights are still draped over the back of the car. The exhaust outlets have switched to oval shapes rather than the current parallelograms. This alteration could just be chalked up to it being a test car, but the previous tester we saw had a similar design. It's possible that the camouflage could be hiding other revisions, but don't expect anything radical from the facelift.
Our previous report indicated that Jaguar is also planning some interior upgrades with new infotainment and ambient lighting. The company seems to feel that there isn't a point in messing with the XJ's design just yet, since all of the changes we see here are very subtle. No problems, here - to our eyes, the big Jag is still one of the prettier sedans on the road today.
