Offered is a rare find.  A Jaguar two door coupe.  This car has been sitting for 25 years.  The previous owner dented the front left fender and so had the fender replaced with a Jaguar OEM panel.  The right rear quarter has a small repair as well.   At that point he decided to repaint the whole car.  To start the process he took apart the car completely.  It is sitting on its suspension and it rolls and steers, but thats about all that is still on the car.  And, thats where it was left.  It was never painted and never progressed beyond that.  The silver paint you see is the factory original.  There is no visible rust on the car.  The rockers are great, the floors excellent, the C pillar, the roof, nothing nowhere.  If you ever wanted to build a Coupe, this would be the tub and project to start with.  NO RUST.  Want to bury some money in a project, start with a rusty one.

It seems relatively complete.  I did not take inventory and there appear to be multiples of some items.  All the coupe specific stuff appears to be there. The Motor was running when it was taken out, many years ago, but I can see a soft plug has failed on one side of it, so it will probably need to be redone.  Not sure.  Not sure about the transmission as well, other than it was a working driving car when taken apart.

I have a clean Oregon title and I can get all the parts into the car so it can be transported.  I will mount the engine to the trans and mount them in the car.   I can then put all the rest of the stuff in the car so it can be transported.   I will do this for an additional $100.  If you want to pick it up the way it is then thats fine as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.  I am on the West Coast USA, so Pacific Standard Time.

Jaguar Project 7 Concept

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The Jaguar Project 7 Concept debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed just last month. But unlike most concepts, which serve only to collect fingerprints on a stage, the track-ready one-seater spent its days barreling past the hillclimb crowds with Mike Cross, chief engineer of vehicle integrity at Jaguar, beaming behind its right-hand-drive steering wheel. What's more, the powers that be at Jaguar even let yours truly drive the Project 7 during the Concurs d'Elegance festivities at Pebble Beach last week.
Built on an all-aluminum V8 F-Type chassis with modified suspension, the Project 7 (a name acknowledging Jaguar's seven Le Mans wins between 1951-1990) is best thought of as an F-Type masquerading as a D-Type. The two-door is fitted with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 good for 550 horsepower (no pictures as Jaguar wouldn't allow us to open the hood). An eight-speed automatic, with a torque converter, sends the power the rear wheels, allowing the single-seat roadster to crack the 60-mph benchmark in just over four seconds.
Modifications to the bodywork include a new lowered windshield, carbon-fiber aerodynamics and a rear fairing with integrated rollover hoop. The driving position has also been lowered by more than an inch, allowing the sole occupant to not only escape the airflow, but take advantage of a lower center of gravity.

Jaguar has something special planned for Goodwood

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

It's been barely a week since JLR announced its new Special Operations division, dedicated to creating limited-run halo cars and custom creations for both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. Now the British automaker has confirmed the debut of the division's first project.
We don't know what it is, exactly, that Jaguar will be bringing to the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week, but we bet it'll be exciting. If we were the betting kind, we'd put our money on some kind of hot-rod F-Type, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Alongside whatever JLR Special Operations has got cooking, Coventry will also be bringing the new F-Type R Coupe and XFR-S Sportbrake to run up the hill alongside a whole slew of classic and racing Jaguars, including a pair of D-Types, a Group 44 E-Type, a Group A XJS and the reunion of XJR-9 and Andy Wallace that last saw each other on the top step of the podium at Le Mans in 1988.

Jay Leno's Garage drives Steve McQueen's 1956 Jaguar XKSS

Tue, 27 May 2014

Steve McQueen might be the coolest American male of the 20th century. With movies like Bullitt and Le Mans, McQueen established himself as the king of cool of his era, and on the list of actors you would pick for a fantasy racing team - he or Paul Newman are the natural first choices. The latest Jay Leno's Garage video highlights one of McQueen's most special cars - a 1956 Jaguar XKSS.
Just 16 XKSS models were made because a fire at the Jaguar factory halted production. It was meant to be a street version of the company's very successful D-Type racer, with a modified version of its 3.4-liter straight-six-engine and a four-speed manual gearbox. McQueen clearly had an eye for great vehicles. He drove his Jag around Los Angeles years after it was a cutting-edge piece of technology. Since then, it became part of the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA. Autoblog's The List even took a ride in it when the show visited the museum.
The XKSS is one of the pinnacles of automotive design of the '50s, and its association with McQueen makes this example even more extraordinary. Leno is in love with the car from the moment he sees it, and it's hard to argue with him. Between its emphasized curves and raspy exhaust, this is one sexy Jag. Scroll down to get an eyeful and earful from one of McQueen's favorite cars.
