PLEASE NOTE!!!  THE VIN# FOR THIS CAR IS SAJJNACC8CC127577.  THE LISTING WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE THE VIN# SO I HAD TO USE THE VIN# FOR MY 2004 TO PROCEED WITH THE POSTING.

UP FOR AUCTION IS MY PERSONAL 1982 JAGUAR XJ-SC CABRIOLET.  THIS CAR IS FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION.  I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2009 WITH 52066 ORIGINAL MILES.  THIS WAS A ONE OWNER CAR ORIGINALLY  OWNED BY A DEFUNCT EXOTIC CAR DEALERSHIP LOCATED IN HOUSTON, TEXAS.  I PURCHASED THE CAR AT AN AUCTION AND HAVE OWNED AND GARAGED IT SINCE THEN.  I NOW HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE A LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO PROJECT AT A PRICE I SIMPLY CANNOT REFUSE.  SO I'M SELLING THE JAG.

THE WEIRD FACT ABOUT THIS CAR IS THAT THE STATE OF TEXAS REGISTERS THIS CAR AS A 1982, CONFUSED THE HECK OUT OF ME WHEN I RAN A CARFAX AND IT INDICATED THE CAR DIDN'T ARRIVE IN THE US TILL 1986.   I FURTHER RESEARCHED THE CAR AND HAD IT CONFIRMED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CABRIOLET REGISTER.  MY CAR WAS FEATURED ON THE WEBSITE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS THEREAFTER.  THESE ARE RARE CARS ONLY BUILT FROM JUNE 1982 - APRIL 1988.  THERE WERE ONLY 5013 OF THESE CARS BUILT.

ANYWAY, ABOUT THE CAR, IT IS REGISTERED IN TEXAS AS A 1982, IT IS A CABRIOLET OR "CABBY" VERSION.  THE REAR OF THE TOP FOLDS DOWN AS A CONVERTIBLE WOULD WITH THE TWO REMOVABLE TARGA TOP PANELS EXPOSING THE ENTIRE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.  ORIGINAL AM/FM CASSETTE, AC, PS, PB, PW, ALL LEATHER INTERIOR, DRIVER SEAT NEWLY REUPHOLSTERED, 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION, "BIG SIX" SIX CYLINDER ENGINE, MICHELIN TIRES, 2ND SET OF WHEELS WILL GO WITH THE SALE, TWO ADDITIONAL SETS OF ORIGINAL JAG FLOOR MATS AND BOOT COVER.

IT'S A GREAT CAR FOR SOMEONE TO FINISH OFF AND MAKE THEIR OWN.  IT IS SOLID AND DRIVES VERY SMOOTH.  LOTTA PUNCH AND HUGS THE ROAD.

Jaguar is ready for the future, and its cars look the part thanks to Ian Callum

Tue, Jun 4 2019

There are few living legends in the car business. Jaguar design director Ian Callum is one of them. The longtime stylist announced Tuesday he's stepping down after a decorated career that's seen the resurgence of Jaguar and its again superlative design. Callum, who turns 65 in July, has overseen Jaguar design for 20 years and shepherded it from an era of mediocrity and uncertainty to success with its current lineup of eye-catching products. The brand's 1990s and 2000s cars, led by the haggard X-Type, were too-often forgettable. But in the last decade, Callum has completely flipped the script, returning Jaguar to its sports-car roots with the F-Type while embracing the new period of electric vehicles and crossovers. "Yesterday I told my team I was leaving as Design Director for Jaguar after 20 years. I've done what I set out to do. Time for a new adventure. I pass the baton onto my good friend and great designer Julian Thomson...." Callum tweeted Tuesday. Thompson, a 19-year veteran of Jaguar takes the reins from Callum, who is staying on as a consultant. The move takes effect July 1. As Callum notes, it's not a retirement, though he didn't elaborate. "Given the strength of both our products and the design team I feel that now is the right time to move on, both personally and professionally, and explore other design projects," he said in a statement. The Scottish-born designer studied at the Royal College of Art and was steeped in the tradition of Jaguar and British cars. He had every reason to resist change. He didn't, instead evolving his dream job into an instrument of evolution, and today Jaguar has the most well-rounded portfolio in its history. With EVs like the I-Pace the brand has an elegant and efficient car capable of taking down Tesla, while the F-Pace and E-Pace crossovers are bringing Jaguar to a new kind of customer. "In my view, the World Car Design of the Year winning F-Type, F-Pace and I-Pace – true game changers – are perhaps his greatest achievements. I believe they will be future icons," Jaguar Land Rover chief executive Ralf Speth said in a statement. Through it all, Callum never lost focus on Jaguar's sense of purpose. Along with Aston Martin, McLaren and Rolls-Royce, Jaguar holds a place in Britain's car culture and broader identity. He recognized when Jaguar rolled out a sports car openly tapped as the successor to the E-type – and then called it the F-Type – it carried the weight of history on its aluminum chassis.

Jaguar Land Rover looks to hire hundreds of laid-off tech workers

Sun, Nov 20 2022

LONDON — Laid off tech industry workers in Britain could find a new home at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), as the 100-year-old luxury carmaker looks to hire hundreds of engineers to help develop electric car technology. The carmaker, which wants to become an "electric-first" business from 2025, on Friday announced a jobs portal for displaced tech workers to fill 800 roles spanning self-driving, electrification, machine learning and data science. The company said it believed workers leaving big tech groups like Amazon were most likely to have the required skills to fill new roles in Britain, Ireland, the United States, India, China and Hungary. The majority of the jobs will be in Britain. The hiring drive comes after thousands of layoffs in recent weeks at U.S. tech firms including Twitter, Meta and Amazon, some of which have offices in London and Dublin, Ireland. "Our digital transformation journey is well underway but being able to recruit highly skilled digital workers is an important next step," Chief Information Officer Anthony Battle said in a statement. JLR last year announced an electrification strategy under which all Jaguar cars would be fully electric by 2024 and an electric option would be offered across its entire portfolio including Land Rover. The company is owned by India's Tata Motors. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Jaguar XF Sportbrake is the cure for the common F-Pace

Tue, Oct 25 2016

Before Jaguar introduced the F-Pace crossover, the only way an American could get their hands on a long-roof leaper was to either move to Europe and buy an XF Sportbrake or pick up the rare X-Type Sportwagon on the used market. But now that the F-Pace is on sale, there's no need for a Jag wagon (henceforth known as the Jagon), right? Wrong. Spotted lapping the Nurburgring, the second-generation XF sedan transitions to wagon duty as naturally as the first-gen car did, promising a boost in cargo capacity without sacrificing the good looks of Jaguar's middle child. But the sloping roofline won't do the XF's versatility too many favors – as our spies rightly state, it looks like Jag's designers are favoring style over outright cargo space. Beyond the roofline, expect the new Sportbrake to follow its predecessor's example and adhere very closely to the XF sedan. Don't expect any changes from the firewall forward, with most of the changes above the beltline and at the tail, where Jag's designers obviously need to rethink the look to accommodate the rear hatch. The overall taillight shape should stay the same, while the lower bumper will carry over with only modest adjustments. Under hood, our spies report the car shown here is Jaguar's potent S trim, with a 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6. While it's a safe bet that Jaguar will sell the Sportbrake in Europe with all the lesser XF engines – not to mention R and RS variants – it's unlikely all three mainstream engines will arrive in the US. Oh yeah, our spies claim there's a chance the long-roof XF will hit the US market. We're calling it a very slim chance, though. Audi and BMW deported their A6/5 Series wagons years ago, leaving the segment to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The Volvo V90 will add some Swedish flair to the segment, but the bottom line is that importing and federalizing a new model to compete in a segment responsible for just 20,000 units per year isn't good business. Here's hoping Jaguar makes a bad business decision.
