I am selling my 2004 Jaguar X-Type Sedan. I bought this car used and was planning to customize it but ran out of funds. Since I've owned it, I've kept in in a garage.  The clutch and flywheel were replaced  at 67000 miles and the car has been lowered (H&R SPORT Lowering Springs). I do not have the original jaguar springs.

I installed 18 inch Zenetti Deuce Wheels  and new w/ZEIK 22540R18 tires at 76,000 miles from Goodyear Tire Center. The wheel wells are not rolled so the tires will rub on hard bumps and have worn on the outer edges but the tires still have a lot of tread. l have the original Jaguar Wheels which are included in this auction.

The brakes are still good and I have a set of  Centric Posi-Quite Low Dust Ceramic  Front and Rear Brake Pads, brand new in the box, free to the winner.  Oil changes have been done regularly and I have records for the work I've done.

The paint is in good condition with some scratches on the front and rear bumpers. The rear seat has an inch cut/slice that probably can easily be repaired. It does not show at first glance, you actually have to press down firmly to see it. This car has a comfortable highway ride, attractive styling with all-wheel drive and a very large trunk. All-wheel drive is great for traction in wet or snowy conditions. It seats five passengers  but to be comfortable its really four passengers unless the fifth is a small child.

Repairs are needed. This car is in running condition. Starts right up without a problem and the A/C and heating work. I took it to a mechanic and was told the water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced and the oil pan is leaking (new gasket) the cost was estimated at $1800.00. If you are a mechanic then this is not a concern. I have two transponder keys but no valet key.

This car is sold as is.

Jaguar to finish building six remaining Lightweight E-Types

Thu, 15 May 2014

Back in February of 1963, Jaguar set about making a small run of lightweight E-Types. It recrafted the bodywork out of aluminum, shoehorned in a 3.8-liter straight-six with an aluminum block, stripped out the interior, removed the chrome trim and fitted lighter-weight side windows. The result was a 250-pound reduction in curb weight and a commensurate increase in performance, especially evident on the race track. The company originally set about building 18 examples, but only managed 12. The remaining six were allocated chassis numbers, but were never built. That is, until now.
Fifty years since the last of the original 12 lightweight E-Types were completed, Jaguar has announced that it is preparing to resume production and complete the final six examples. The company has assigned its top craftsmen to the job, who will build the half-dozen continuation Lightweights to the same exact specifications as the original dozen. Former sister-company and perennial arch-rival Aston Martin undertook a similar task (or at least authorized Zagato to do so) when it sanctioned four continuation examples of the original DB4 GT Zagato based on original chassis numbers in 1988, and another two based on original body shells and stock DB4 chassis in 1992.
Jaguar has not yet announced pricing and availability for the continuation Lightweights, but the first old-is-new example is set to debut this summer, whereupon Coventry will release further details. You can bet, though, that each one will be snapped up rather quick at just about any price the British automaker cares to put on them.

Watch this bad parker get what's coming to him

Fri, 02 Aug 2013

If you're lucky enough to have a nice vehicle, do your fellow gearheads a favor and don't park like a clown. Seriously. Not only will you anger everyone who is trying to find a place to park, but your nice car is a billboard reinforcing the stereotype that car people are self-important and inconsiderate.
Take this gentleman for example. He has a Jaguar XK, and understandably wants to take care of it. Rather than parking it far, far away from any other cars and getting a bit of exercise by walking to his building, he takes up two spots (albeit barely) close to the structure. From the cameraman's narration, we can tell his coworkers are less than thrilled about his inability to stay between the lines.
Naturally, they wanted to teach him a lesson, so they parked a bigger vehicle as close to his driver's door as possible. Mr. XK's attempts to enter his vehicle are rather amusing, culminating in his climbing through the passenger side and scooching over to the driver's seat. While we can debate this sort of treatment all day long, it was effective. The video includes a follow up at the end showing where the XK driver parked the next day, and as you might guess, it wasn't in the same spot.

Weekly Recap: The divergent paths of Tesla and Fisker

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

There's no doubt that Tesla is downshifting while Fisker has been grinding its gears. But it wasn't always that way.
In the wake of Tesla's recent success, it's easy to forget that there were once two California electric carmakers with bright futures.
