If you are looking for a nice sporty well maintained garage kept, and low mileage Jaguar....please consider this classy looking and well running Jaguar.

The condition is not perfect - but overall very good, inside and out.  Engine runs smoothly and quietly, shifts like new...This 2.5 V-6 has great power but also amazing MPH  - 19 city and 26-28 highway.  This model is AWD and has great traction in any weather The color combination for this car is classic  - British Racing Green with a light beige interior leather...Climate control works perfectly.....Tires are all VG with 2 being nearly new.  Car is all original, paint is still shiny and original with some light scratches but amazing condition for its age. Alloy wheels are excellent.   I have maintained this car well and have always used full synthetic oil.  Car handles like a cross between a sports car and luxury sedan.  I am selling because I just retired from the U.S. Army and have 2 cars and a truck!  This car is a pleasure to drive ....and still turns heads, and many complements!

NOTES:

1. There was a rear wear spot on the drivers seat back from entry/exit.  I tried to repair it with a leather repair kit myself....It is not a great color match and as I tried to blend it in, andd made the 'wear spot' look larger than actual size...see picture....I did not get a professional repair estimate for this, as it's appearance did not bother me).

2.  The ABS light occasionally comes on.    When I have turned the car off the ABS light has gone back off!
My mechanic checked this and there were no ABS error codes.  I did not pursue this issue further.

3.  Recently the engine light came on.  My mechanic checked it and it is an oxygen sensor for the exhaust.  The engine light is off now but I have the part ordered.  I should have it installed before sale ....or I will deduct 100.00 from sale price.

4.
I have been a long time and honest ebayer and expect to deal with honest, serious folks.  I have described this vehicle as best I could.  It is basically very sound and worth more than I am asking.....(original MSRP was over 29K) I am not a dealer trying to make $$ and so I am offering this car at a very low price ....with no reserve.  Therefore please do not bid unless you are serious, as this car will be sold to the highest bidder.  Please contact me if you have less than 5 feedbacks or a very poor feedback score, or your bid will be cancelled.  Please feel free to ask any questions!  Good luck,  IG

Jaguar launches new classic racing series

Fri, 14 Nov 2014

One-make racing series have become all the rage for customers who want to actually race their exotic sports cars (or competition-spec versions of them, anyway). Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin all offer such programs, and Porsche supports several. Now Jaguar is getting in on the action as well, but instead of turning one of its production models - we're looking at you, F-Type - into a spec racer, it's launching an historic racing series instead.
The 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge will be open to cars made by the Leaping Cat marque before 1966, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type and Mk I and MkII sedans. The series, which builds on the success of the previous Jaguar E-Type Challenge, will be administered by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) based at Silverstone and will include four races in the UK and one in Europe, with the exact schedule still to be determined.
The program was announced at the launch of the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, where Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations director John Edwards was also named chairman of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, replacing former Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll who chaired the organization for the past five years.

Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.

1964 Jaguar XKE slinks into Jay Leno's Garage

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

The idea of altering a classic Jaguar E-Type might seem preposterous to some, but Jasen Len of XKs Unlimited managed to create a modified 1964 E-Type that stays true to the Jag's timeless design. Just a few months after Jay Leno featured his own original E-Type on Jay Leno's Garage, Len stopped by to show off his custom Jaguar creation.
Starting out with a rust-ravaged body, Len made the car just the way he wanted it to be. He started off with some minor changes to the car's exterior like the Le Mans-inspired racing lights and handmade front bumpers, handmade sills with integrated exhaust and flared rear fenders. Inside, he dropped the floor to make more interior space and reworked the E-Type's styling for more of a modern look. We have to say, if you're going to mess with a Series 1 E-Type, this is the way to do it.
Sadly, even though Len and Leno spend plenty of time talking about the car's 300-horsepower 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder, we never get to hear the car fire up. Check out the JLG video, which is posted below, and as a bonus, enjoy the gallery from Jaguar showing a 1961 E-Type.
