Up for auction is my 2001 Jaguar S-Type 4.0 V8 Sedan, RWD.  NO RESERVE!!

Let me first apologize for the lack of photos, and the quality.  I work during daylight hours, and night time is pretty much my only chance at a day shot.  However, send me a message with your cell phone, and I can text you pix that you would like to see. The exterior is either Metallic Black, or Black Onyx...
I'm selling this car because I have replaced it with another vehicle better suited for my long trips to and from work.  So, I don't need this Jaguar anymore, since I only bought it for its awesomeness and better MPG (25-27hwy) than my truck.  I would like to rid myself of the car note I got into with high interest.  It really is awesome, makes me smile to drive it, and see others watch me drive it, but I don't need it, and I've been going on a need to have basis here lately.

This is a rare find!  Excellent condition, inside and out.  Paint has no chips that I've found, and the leather interior is in excellent shape, especially for the age.  Very very, small scratch in the bottom rear of driver seat. The headliner is starting to release from the ceiling, perhaps from high summer heat.  However, you will be impressed when you look inside. There are just a little over 74,000 miles on this Jag, and the price is a steal! 17 inch Chrome 10 star factory wheels.  Spare in trunk, along with a whole bunch of room, and back-up gas door release.  New tires on the rear, and the front 2 aren't far from new either. The front end has also been aligned just 5000 miles ago.  I have found 2 small dings in the passenger rear door, but you only notice them at an angled view while trying to spot them.  All the electronics work, all switches, lights.  Engine runs powerful and strong.  Variable Valve Timing on the engine, strong and smooth transmission, no slips, has sport mode, traction control on/off, heated windshield wipers, fog lights and rear fog tail lights.  Driver front fog light protective lens is broke, but the projector and light works.  I didn't even notice it until I washed it the other day.  Headlights are HID, and the bright lights are Sylvania SilverStar Ultras.  You'll notice everything going on in front of you at night time. The defroster vent cover also has a crack right at the middle, didn't notice it either until I armor-all'd it, I hear they're cheap, and also a snap-on piece.  Fresh oil and filter change just 5000 miles ago, Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic 5-30w.  All spark plugs replaced with Bosch Platinum 4's.  All front end ball joints have been replaced on both driver and passenger sides, including upper control arm and ball joint, steering knuckle and lower ball joint, hub/wheel bearing, outer tie rod ends, sway-bar links.  Never was this car in an accident that I know of, and the only reason I replaced the joints was because I had the money, time, and the rubber containing the grease had worn away. If you know this car, its particular origin, then you know you are getting an awesome deal!  Easy to work on, should you need to, fun fun fun to drive, and it turns heads everywhere you go.  There are 2 keys that come with the car.  The title is at my bank, and upon completion of the sale, I will send the title and transfer paperwork, all signed, to you the next business day after payment.

I'm sure there is something I'm leaving out that you want to or need to know.  So, please ask me anything.  I know a pretty good bit about this car, so I should be able to answer anything and everything you need to know.  There are no recalls on this Jaguar.  Selling as is, where is, but will meet you if need be.   NO RESERVE!!  If only 1 bid at $6000, SOLD.

New info, my wife drove the car the other day and told me that it was harder to start, and that the passenger side heat is blowing out cold.  I've looked up possible causes, and it seems like an easy fix. I drove the Jag recently, and believe the heat is working properly.  Cold battery.... fuse...  I'm unable to diagnose the starting problem, and definitely without the time to fix it. It does start, and will everytime.   Hopefully its a DIY deal that you yourself can handle.  It's been colder here than recently, and maybe the cold air being sucked into the intake from outside is making the noticeable difference on delayed starting of the car.  Not sure.  I'm slowly looking over things at night to make sure I'm not leaving anything out.  More than welcome to call and schedule a look at the car if it'll help you decide.  Wish I had better pix.
Also, to help prevent any false hopes, new members need to contact me before bidding, and bidders with negative feedback need not bid.  I have trouble in the past with fakers, and people upset that they didn't win at "their" price, and kept jacking up the bid to outbid others and then not pay.  Using an account just for that purpose with no intentions of buying.
My name is Brent, 936-201-1803  lv a msg if no answer, because I'm probably busy, but I WILL get back to you...
Thanks, good luck!

ECD Auto Design Jaguar E-Type Electric First Drive: EV restomods have a bright future

Fri, Dec 15 2023

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — If youÂ’ve ever dipped a toe into the restomod world before, thereÂ’s a good chance youÂ’ve heard of the Florida-based company ECD. Originally known as East Coast Defender for the companyÂ’s earliest efforts restomodding Land Rover Defenders, itÂ’s now just “ECD Auto Design.” ThatÂ’s because thereÂ’s a whole lot more than just Defenders being cranked out of the workshop these days. And while weÂ’ve already driven its Land Rover offerings in the Defender and Range Rover Classic, today itÂ’s time to take the companyÂ’s latest creation for a spin: the ECD Jaguar E-Type. ECD announced its foray into the E-Type world about a year and a half ago, and by the time we showed up, itÂ’d already produced seven restored and/or heavily modified E-Types. Before we get too far into first impressions, though, some history. The E-Type, formally known as the XK-E here in the states, was produced between 1961 and 1974. It was a bombshell of a sports car when new, touting impressive performance for a solid price from both its inline-six and V12 engines. Jaguar went through three main iterations of the XK-E before wrapping up sales here: Series I, Series II and Series III. And while ECD has restored a Series I, itÂ’s focusing on the more widely available (and more affordable) Series II cars for this project. The E-Type was available as a coupe or convertible, and while ECD is allowing you to stick with either of the original powertrains for restoration builds, itÂ’s also offering some rather tempting swaps. If thereÂ’s something you should know about ECD, itÂ’s that this company loves a good American V8. YouÂ’ll find an LS- or LT-based General Motors V8 in most of its Defender builds, and thatÂ’s exactly what ECD is offering in the E-Type, too. GMÂ’s 450-horsepower LT1 can be plopped under the long hood of the E-Type should you want to turn it into a tire-destroying muscle machine. On the other end of the spectrum is an electric conversion option, which is the E-Type variant we got to drive. Before you scream “sacrilege!” we wonÂ’t bury the lede on this one: An all-electric E-Type is actually a hoot to drive. Admittedly, what makes it fun to drive is also what makes other modern-day sports cars fun to drive. ItÂ’s lightweight at just 2,940 pounds (thatÂ’s 60 pounds less than the V8-powered version), features a 51/49 weight balance, has a 305-horsepower motor doling out power solely to the rear wheels Â… and you can take the roof off!

Jaguar's F-Sleigh replaces reindeer with jet power

Fri, Dec 18 2015

'Tis the season for automakers to demonstrate how they would design Santa's famous (if fictitious) sleigh. The F-Sleigh concept is based on the F-Type convertible, but this one has skids instead of wheels, a pair of jet engines in place of the supercharged V8, the requisite red nose (embossed with the Growler emblem), and of course plenty of room for gifts. This is the second time we've seen a modern Jaguar design incorporating small turbines, and takes the idea of a 550-horse open sleigh to new heights. Jaguar rendered the design in an ice sculpture and is displaying it this holiday season at the London Edition hotel in the British capital. Joining the F-Sleigh on display are some of the more tempting items from the latest Jaguar and Land Rover merchandise collections, including a 1:8 scale model of a 1957 XKSS and a Defender pedal car. But it's the centerpiece that caught our attention, looking at least as cool as some of the designs we've seen from the likes of Ford, Honda, Lexus, Bentley, or even Jaguar Land Rover's previous concepts. Now if you'll excuse us, we have to rush down to the fireplace to replace the milk and cookies with a tanker full of jet fuel. A special ice-sculpture of a Christmas-inspired Jaguar design was exclusively revealed at the London Edition hotel to celebrate the merchandise and luxury goods launch. Codenamed 'F-SLEIGH', the Jaguar Christmas sleigh takes inspiration from the Jaguar F-TYPE convertible, but with skates in place of wheels, a generous open luggage compartment for gifts and jet power to generate Jaguar's renowned supercharged performance through the night sky. A Growler-embossed red nose completes the F-SLEIGH's Christmas theme.

Jaguar buys world's largest collection of British cars

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Whether you're looking at Bertone going bankrupt or Spyker facing (and subsequently resolving) a large tax bill, it's saddening to see an automaker having to sell off its factory collection. That's why we're glad to report that there are still some acquiring historic vehicles from their pasts. Like Jaguar, which has just bought the largest private collection of classic British cars in the world.
The collection of 543 cars was painstakingly assembled by one James Hull, a British dentist with some 50 dental clinics to his name across the UK and who was keen to find the right buyer to take possession of his life's work and preserve it for years to come.
Of those 543 cars, the majority are of British origin, including over 130 Jaguars. The collection includes seven XK120s, several C- and D-Types, a rare XKSS, eight E-Types, thirty Mark-series Jaguar sedans, nineteen XJS coupes and convertibles, some twenty XJ sedans as well as some pre-war SS models and Swallow sidecars and coachbuilt specials from the company's early days. Among the many noteworthy examples are a rare SS100, an alloy-bodied XK120 and an MK X owned by company founder Sir William Lyons himself, as well as Winston Churchill's Austin, Elton John's Bentley, and racing driver and motorcycle rider Mike Hailwood's E-Type.
