Family Owned Last 46 Years 1963 Xke Roadster on 2040-cars

Year:1963 Mileage:87400
Location:

Edmond, Oklahoma, United States

Edmond, Oklahoma, United States

Here is the story on this car.

Dad bought in 1968 and we have had it ever since.

The car was originally a coupe but we wanted a roadster.

In 2000 I bought a S1 roadster body from Classic Jaguar in Austin and converted the car.

I had the floors and rockers replaced just because I wanted to undercoat in the rockers, jags are notorious for rust. (Martin Robey panels from (Terry's Jaguar)

The color is Phoenix red.

This has the Gold Head 3.8 engine and Moss 4-Speed

A few of the things I had done during the rebuild.

Willwood brakes

Switch from Positive to Negative ground. Delco alternator

Pertronix ignition

Aluminum racing radiator (Classic Jaguar)

Spin on oil filter

Dayton Stainless 6" wheels

New exhaust system (Terry's Jaguar)

New taillamps (British Auto)

New shocks

New Top

New bushings in steering column

I have pictures and receipts of the rebuild.

In 2008, I had Sports and classic restoration in Norman Oklahoma do a top end rebuild of the engine due to a leak in the water jacket.

We replaced with a correct series 1 head. Installed hardened valves. I have the original head

Basically I got rid of a lot of  things that are not good in a series 1 E-Type.

Since rebuild the car has gone about 1.000 miles. I kept the odometer mileage from the original car and it sits it 87,400

Look at the pictures, no car is perfect, but if you are looking for a driver that causes people to stop and stare and you don't want to spend north of $100K this could be the car for you.

Engine # R9553-9

Car #887964

So why I am selling an apprieciating asset, I don't drive it is the biggest reason, kids are in every sport known and I don't have the time.

IF YOU ARE SERIOUS about the car, send me an e-mail through ebay with your name and number and I will call you back.

Thanks for Looking. Take Care

Jaguar XE promises to net 'over 75 mpg,' just not for us [w/video]

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

With around a month away from its world debut on September 8, Jaguar continues to issue a constant drip of updates about its upcoming XE compact luxury sedan that's aiming to take on the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. Where the company's last bit of info focused on the car's suspension setup, this time Jag's putting the spotlight on the new model's modular platform and making some big promises about it, too. How big? Try over 75 miles per gallon big.
That's the headline figure that Jaguar is claiming for its new sedan, but it's keeping mum on just what powertrain will realize that figure. Furthermore, that result is on the European test cycle, which is more lenient than America's EPA testing regime. In any case, when the XE hits the road, Jag says it will be the most efficient vehicle from the company, ever.
That's thanks in no small part to the aluminum-intensive monocoque chassis underpinning the sedan. It's constructed from a new grade of the lightweight metal called RC 5754 that uses a high portion of recycled material. "The Jaguar XE body uses over 75-percent aluminum content, which far exceeds any other car in its class. This gives us a body structure with unrivaled low weight: it's light but also immensely strong with extremely high levels of torsional stiffness," said Dr. Mark White, Jaguar Chief Technical Specialist; Body Complete.

Watch this Jaguar XJ220 perform a fiery burnout

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

We like to think that at least some supercar owners drive their exotic machinery the way they're meant to be driven. The reality is more likely that most pamper them in climate-controlled environments and rarely actually drive them. But Tax The Rich seems dedicated to balancing them all out by hooning the heck out of some of the most expensive and desirable supercars the world has ever seen - whether it's a Ferrari Enzo rallying along dirt roads or a pair of F50s playing tug of war.
The YouTube channel has even played around with a Jaguar XJ220 before, but not quite like this. In its latest clip, Tax The Rich goes a step or two beyond the usual smokey burnout, lighting up the rear wheels of a super-rare Jag, all for our viewing pleasure. And take pleasure we do in the video below, even as part of us cringes at the thought of potentially reducing one of the fastest Jaguars in history to a smoldering hulk.

Jaguar XF gets performance-look R-Sport trim

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

If you're looking for all the style of a sports sedan but without the added expense of springing for a full-on performance model (and keeping it fed with fuel and fresh tires), most European automakers will gladly hook you up with an all-show, no-go package. BMW has its M-Sport aero kits, Audi its S-Line, and Mercedes its AMG Sport packs. And now Jaguar is getting in on the action with the launch of the new R-Sport line.
Set to be introduced on the XF at the Geneva Motor Show, the R-Sport trim at least some of the flash of the XFR or XFR-S but with a more economical engine and a relatively accessible price of entry. (This is, after all, still a Jag.) The XF R-Sport is distinguished by a sportier front bumper, side sills, rear spoiler, 17-inch wheels and unique badging to set it apart from any "ordinary" Jaguar XF. The interior is upgraded as well, and there's an optional black styling pack to take things even further.
Jaguar is offering the XF R-Sport in either sedan or wagon form with the 2.2-liter turbodiesel producing 161 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, fitted with a spot-start system to make it a far more frugal option than the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 in the real deal. Although this version won't be coming to US as you see it here, Jaguar tells Autoblog it's always possible it'll produce a similar aesthetic treatment for the North American market - just don't count on such models arriving under diesel motivation. We'll take a closer look at them in Geneva next week, but for now, you can check out the gallery and press release below for an idea of what to expect.
