1964 Jaguar XKE  2-owner vehicle purchased in 1965.

British Racing Green

Car No.  889978

Body No.  V7478

Engine No.  RA5338-9

Gear Box No.  EB13494JS

22,251 miles on odometer, not sure if accurate.  Might be closer to 70,000.

Garaged its entire life.

Has not been started in the last 18 years.  But pistons turn over freely when cranked by hand.  Marvel Mystery Oil has been poured into the cylinders a few times over the years.  The brakes are free, the car rolls easily on its wheels.

Bored out to increase hp from 265 to 285.  Otherwise it is all stock, and matching numbers.  No accidents, minor dings only.

Some restoration work performed in 1993, including rust repair welding of rocker panels.

Repaint over original British Racing Green color.

It is missing a steel, throttle control linkage rod.

Some original paperwork included.

Title missing.

Can a Jaguar XKR-S be drifted while blindfolded?

Thu, 27 Dec 2012

Bring together a 550-horsepower Jaguar XKR-S and a rain-soaked skidpad, and it's almost impossible to not end up in a sideways drift... accidental or on purpose. With that in mind, the gang over at Autocar got a hold of the monstrous XKR-S for the latest installment of "Will it Drift?," only they raised the stakes a little by attempting the feat with a blindfolded driver
We've driven the XKR-S a number of times here at Autoblog (including a First Drive, Review and Quick Spin), so we weren't at all surprised to learn that blind drifting in the car is possible. But what is remarkable is the ease at which it happened. This, of course, can be credited as much to the car as to the driver, Steve Sutcliffe. Check out the impressive video for yourself, which is posted after the jump.

Jaguar F-Type US order guide loose online

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

An alleged US order guide for the 2014 Jaguar F-Type has made its way online courtesy of the good people at F-TypeClub.com, documenting everything from wheel color options to special equipment packages. From the looks of things, buyers will be able to choose from a total of eight wheel designs in sizes ranging from 18 inches on the base model all the way up to 20 inches. While most of those rollers are available in either silver or black finishes, the 20-inch blade-style wheels are not only forged, but come with carbon-fiber trim. Fancy.
Depending on trim, F-Type buyers will get to choose between two types of seat, including a set of performance-style 14-way power adjustable thrones, complete with seat belts in black, red or tan. Other fun tricks include available power folding side view mirrors and a 770-watt, 14-speaker Meridian sound system.

Weekly Recap: The divergent paths of Tesla and Fisker

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

There's no doubt that Tesla is downshifting while Fisker has been grinding its gears. But it wasn't always that way.
In the wake of Tesla's recent success, it's easy to forget that there were once two California electric carmakers with bright futures.
