2002 ISUZU Rodeo Sport 4WD "NO RESERVE" "NO RESERVE"
Today we have for sale a really cool little four wheel drive mini suv sorta-kinda jeep like vehicle. This car has some of all different types of vehicles. It is, first of all, a serious 4wd. It has a sun roof. It also is a convertible. It is a bit luxury and a bit rugged at the same time. Loaded with equipment including automatic transmission, 4wd, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, tilt wheel and am/fm cd radio. This little go anywhere cruiser has it all and it all works! With really low miles for it's year it is no surprise that driving this car is like driving a new vehicle. We have put more than a thousand miles on it in the last two weeks and enjoyed every mile behind the wheel. The tires are about 50% with a brand new spare on the back so when you need new ones you only need to buy three. The only thing that needs attention is the plastic convertible rear window. Easy replacement and not expensive. The interior is very clean and I deliberately did not detail the car. What you see is the way we got it with the exception of a simple wash. Look under the hood and you see it is all original, untouched with the exception of the brand new battery I just installed. Bid with confidence on this car and drive it home. I know the buyer will be happy with this one. Check our feedback and see that we have a 100% positive rating. We are a "Mom and Pop" dealer and must collect sales tax where applicable. But there aren't any added "Dealer fees" or "Documentation fees." In other words "No BS Fees Here!" Remember, this is a "NO RESERVE" auction. The last bidder will be the next owner! Junkyard Gem: 1992 Geo Storm
Mon, May 15 2017GM's Geo brand existed from the 1989 through 1997 model years. While mostly remembered today for the Suzuki Cultus-based Metro (which continued to be sold with Chevrolet badging until 2001), there were also Geo Prizms (California-built Toyota Corollas), Geo Spectrums (Isuzu I-Mark), Geo Trackers (Suzuki Sidekick), and Geo Storms (Isuzu Impulse). Storms are very rare now, but I found this one in Colorado last week. The idea of the Geo brand was that it would lure young car buyers in a way that wouldn't be possible with stodgy brands such as Oldsmobile or Buick. While GM never sold as many Geos as hoped, enough hit American roads that they were pretty numerous for a while. 1980s-style pink-and-blue graphics remained relevant into the early 1990s. I'm not sure if these pink decal stripes were done at the factory, at a dealership, or later on in someone's back yard. The Storm GSi was the factory-hot-rod version, but this is an ordinary Storm with the 95-horsepower, 12-valve engine. Automatic transmission, of course. It never made it to 100,000 miles. The car seems to be in good shape, so perhaps something broke at about age 10 and it sat in a garage for the next 15 years. This content is hosted by a third party. Come see all the cool cars in Geneva that we don't get in America
Mon, Mar 12 2018The Geneva Motor Show is usually the highlight of auto show season. There are always a ton of interesting debuts. This year alone, we saw new models from McLaren, Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG and more. That doesn't count the ridiculous and tasteless stuff that comes out of Brabus or Mansory. Personally, one of the biggest reasons I enjoy going is to see all the cool stuff that we won't get in America. Watch the video for a brief walkaround of the show floor. Even the city streets offer unusual sights for Americans. Geneva is so close to France that there are Citroens, Peugeots and Renaults everywhere. Then there are cars like the Volkswagen Polo and Up! or a multitude of wagon variants of cars like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4 and A6. Even the exotics come out in droves. There was a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer parked along a side street. There were two Lamborghini Aventadors parked outside our hotel. Just Geneva things. Junkyard Gem: 1986 Isuzu I-Mark Hatchback
Wed, Mar 13 2019Thanks to the long global reach of The General's tentacles, Americans looking for economy cars at GM dealerships during the middle 1980s could buy Suzukis (the Chevrolet Sprint), Opels (the Chevrolet Chevette), Daewoos (the Pontiac LeMans), and Isuzus (the Chevrolet Spectrum). Just as Mitsubishi sold Mirages in the United States while Chrysler continued to sell the Mirage's Colt sibling, Isuzu moved in with the new front-wheel-drive I-Mark to compete with its Spectrum twin. These cars weren't big sellers and they didn't last very long on the road, but I managed to find this '86 in a Denver, Colorado, self-service wrecking yard. The I-Mark was known as the Gemini in its Japanese homeland and in Europe; the front-wheel-drive second-generation Gemini debuted in 1985. This one didn't make it to 150,000 miles, unlike most of its Honda, Toyota, and Nissan competitors, but it was pretty cheap when new. The hatchback listed at $7,149 in 1986, dismayingly more than the stripped-down '86 Civic 1.3 hatchback ($5,479) but closer to the similarly equipped Civic DX hatchback ($6,699). If you were really brave that year, you could have purchased a new Hyundai Excel for a mere $4,995. This is the base engine, a 1.5-liter four rated at 70 horsepower. Believe it or not, an I-Mark Turbo was available a year later, and it boasted 110 horses. My favorite thing about 1980s Isuzus is the way the HVAC controls are labeled. You can choose between "wind in your long, feathered hair" and "wind on your high-heeled disco boots" settings here. This car is in very nice shape for a dated econo-commuter from a long-departed brand, considering that it survived for a good 20 years while being worth approximately scrap value. For the very strong owners of decade-old Chevy Vegas, the Isuzu I-Mark seemed like a wise choice. Some of the first appearances of the soon-to-be-legendary Joe Isuzu were in I-Mark ads. Priced at only $9!
