1998 Infiniti Qx4 Base Sport Utility 4-door 3.3l on 2040-cars
Car is in good running and driving condition; can drive anywhere. I still use it every day so mileage might be a little different upon sale of vehicle. Has new parts including brand new alternator, spark plugs, wires, new distributor and new fuel filter. Battery is still good no problems. All lights are functional and in good working order including fog lights. Timing belt/water pump done about 30000 miles ago. Car is so quiet when it is running; there is no exhaust problems. Brakes are good for another 15000 miles. No cracks in the dash and the undercarriage is clean. Sunroof works good all power and also equipped with a luggage rack. The radio sounds great; has Bose system all speakers work good. The 4x4 works great even has locking differential. The transmission shifts as it should and leather seats have minimal wear. I just recently changed the oil and no leaks whatsoever from any of the fluids.
The temperature gauge just started not to work. It fluctuates a bit and does not work properly but car does not overheat at all. It is just problem with the gauge. Car squeaks a little when you first start it so it could use some new belts. The tires in the front are okay but the ones in the rear need replacing; also missing 2 center caps. The chrome on the wheels could use some restoration but there are no bends or cracks on the wheels themselves. Needs shocks all around Definately as the car shakes a little at highway speeds. The check engine light is on. I am not sure what it is. It is coming up as a P0300 which means random misfire. I have done everything to try to fx it but I give up. The car stumbles a little when cold. A/C does not work at all. I have pulled the belt off the compressor pulley because it kept getting off track. The compressor is no good. The body has various scratches and dents and the door lower trim pieces have been removed as they rusted out. There is a nickel sized dent on passenger door and damaged paint on rear right side of bumper . The front bumper is damaged so that needs work too. Upper part of windsheild drivers side has a crack in it but it does not seem to be spreading.
Car comes complete with owners manual and service manual on a cd if you want to work on it yourself. If buy it now price is met, vehicle can be shipped free of charge to anywhere within 100 miles of location(Stamford CT). |

A look inside Infiniti's variable-compression engine
Thu, Sep 29 2016We're sympathetic to anyone who had trouble understanding what's going on with Infiniti's new variable-compression engine. While we got a full tech briefing on the novel VC-Turbo back in August, the visual aids were lacking. The cutaway engine Infiniti brought to the Paris show fixes all of that. You can thank the little green and pink lines on the cutaway for making the whole idea a little more clear. Click through the gallery to see two lines – one green and one pink – that represent the different strokes allowing for different compression ratios. Remember, the compression ratio is the amount of volume in the cylinder on intake compared to the amount at the end of the compression stroke. Leave more room at the end and you lower that ratio. The length of the stroke doesn't change with this system, but where it sits along the cylinder does. Hence those two lines. The variable compression ratio allows this new turbocharged engine to maximize fuel economy when the turbo isn't needed by raising the compression ratio. It will see its first use in the next Infiniti QX50 crossover, previewed by the QX Sport Inspiration concept that's also on display in Paris, and has performance targets of 268 horsepower and 288 pound-feet of torque. After, it will migrate to other Infiniti and Nissan vehicles, with transverse front-drive-based applications first in line. Eventually, it's likely to completely replace Nissan's corporate 3.5-liter V6. We'll be poking around the engine a little more in Paris today to try and get some more info. For now, enjoy those cutaway images and those friendly little lines. Autoblog's Matt Davis named Infiniti global product and brand communications director
Tue, 03 Jun 2014The door that separates automotive journalism and automaker PR swings both ways, and swings often as we see journalists move over to PR and vice versa. This time, however, it's one of ours.
That would be Matt Davis, longtime European correspondent for Autoblog and frequent contributor to numerous other publications including AutoWeek, Edmunds and Esquire. He was co-founder and longtime chairman of the World Car of the Year Awards, and serves on the jury for the International Engine of the Year awards as well. Matt has resided in Milan since 2001, writing for publications around the world in a number of languages, but will now be moving to Hong Kong.
That's where he will be taking up his new position as Global Director of Production and Brand Communications for Infiniti, which relocated its global headquarters to Hong Kong from Japan more than two years ago. In his new capacity, which he officially assumes on July 14, Davis will report directly to Infiniti's general manager of communications Stefan Weinmann.
Six luxury-car features I'm ashamed to admit I love
Thu, 16 Oct 2014A hot compress felt wonderful on my sore back. The methodical kneading of my shoulder blades loosened the knots that formed over several hours of driving. The Swedish-style pulses firing into my lumbar region released more tension.
I wasn't getting a much-needed massage following a recent road trip. I was getting it during the road trip.
I grew up riding in the back seat of a 1976 Chevy Nova. But once you use these lux features, it's easy to go soft.
