This is a one owner car always maintained by Hyundai. 2 years ago the trans went out and was replaced by Hyundai. Than about 2 months ago the engine started to knock so Hyundai put a new short block in. only about 200 miles on new motor not even broken in yet. The car runs and drives like new now. Ice cold air. Drives good runs good. There are two things wrong with the car that I know of the dealer says the brake pads are good so one or more rotor must be warped because when you are running down the hwy at 65 and step hard on the brake you get a little steering wheel shake. And the center council has a broken latch it opens and closes fine just wont latch. I have all the paper work from Hyundai for all the repairs. With a rebuilt motor and trans you should get another 100,000 miles out of it. Next Hyundai Genesis confirmed for Detroit debut
Tue, 30 Apr 2013Edmunds reports the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan will bow at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show next January. As expected, the redesigned luxury four-door will reportedly offer buyers an all-wheel drive option for the first time as well as a more refined interior. The news that the Genesis will show up at Detroit comes courtesy of Brandon Ramirez, senior group manager of product planning with Hyundai Motor America, though the executive stopped short of serving up any more details.
Edmunds points to "other sources" as saying the Genesis will receive a styling update in the same vein as the automaker's other Fluidic Sculpture design products. That may mean we'll see hints of the HCD-14 Genesis Concept in the final product, though the influence is likely to be pretty subtle if the spy shots above are any indication. The new model will also take a stab at improving both the machine's ride and handling as Hyundai continues to attempt to lure buyers away from brands like BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
2009 Hyundai Genesis under investigation for brake problems
Mon, 21 Oct 2013According to The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into 40,000 Hyundai Genesis sedans due to reports of brake problems. All of the vehicles in this probe are from the 2009 model year.
NHTSA has reportedly received 23 complaints from owners citing increased brake pedal travel and reduced braking power, with one of the incidents resulting in a crash. The Detroit News reports that, in another incident, the Genesis driver responded to the lack of brake effectiveness by applying the parking brake, which caused the vehicle to lose control and go into a spin. Many of the complaints indicate that this problem was simply diagnosed as a faulty ABS module.
In a statement to The News, Hyundai said it is fully cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation. An official recall may occur, depending on the results of the government agency's findings.
2015 Hyundai Sonata already recalled for bad wiring harnesses
Mon, 14 Jul 2014It's barely arrived in dealerships, and already, Hyundai is recalling its 2015 Sonata. A total of 2,138 vehicles are facing issues with a wiring harness that could limit the amount of power steering help and in some cases, making it difficult to shift out of Park. Most of the cars are not yet in customer hands.
This is a followup action to a very quiet stop-sale that was issued to dealers in early June, which originally included a recall of 1,790 vehicles across the continental US and 58 vehicles in Puerto Rico. That figure eventually grew to a total of 2,080 vehicles in the US and 58 in the Caribbean territory.
Only the 2.4-liter, naturally aspirated model is affected, and of the 2,100-plus sedans, only 12 of them are in the hands of customers, according Hyundai spokesman Jim Trainor. Each customer has been notified and asked to report in for free repairs. As of this writing, there are no reports of injuries or crashes due to the issue.
