It kills me to sell this car but I will be moving to a new home soon and need to generate some cash. Believe me, as soon as my feet are back on the ground I will go purchase another Sonata. This is my second one and was amazed when I test drove it 2 years ago. 275 horsepower of turbo charged juice out of a 4 cyl. AMAZING! You cant go wrong buying one of these cars. Fully warranted which is transferable to the new buyer. I even at the time of purchase bought extended bumper to bumper for 10 years 100,000 miles. Thats right, no headaches or surprises of those unwanted and unexpected car repair bills, not that you would never need it for these cars. I am a 32 year experienced master mechanic and wouldnt buy anything else. I push Hyundai's on family and friends all the time. Check out all the reports and reviews and you will see why. This also comes with the Simonize protection plan. I have changed the oil every 3000 miles even though they recommend 6000 miles now. I also just put a new set of tires on the front. As you can see by the pictures it has a ding in the hood that I never got fixed because of my 500.00 deductible. That is really the only issue whatsoever with this car period. You wont be disappointed. I also just purchased 1 year of XM radio and I will even throw in the cable required to use your ipod which they charge you 35.00 for after you purchase the car and find out that you cant just plug in. Hyundai, Los Angeles Times and Consumer Reports in fuel economy skirmish?
Thu, 07 Feb 2013On Wednesday, Consumer Reports issued a story taking umbrage with the auto industry's move toward smaller, turbocharged engines, noting its own testing revealed that many such powerplants fail to deliver their promised fuel economy numbers. The story covered a variety of domestic and foreign automakers, with Ford and Chevrolet featuring prominently in the discussion. Hyundai was also mentioned for its Sonata Turbo, but the Korean automaker's family sedan came within one observed mile per gallon of its EPA ratings in CR's test, and its normally aspirated 2.4-liter counterpart actually beat its combined EPA ratings, 27 mpg to 26.
Good news for Hyundai, right? The automaker was so pleased with its report card that it sent out a small statement to a handful of news outlets including Autoblog, reading in part:
"We at Hyundai believe that Consumer Reports real-world average fuel economy testing results and EPA combined fuel economy results should correlate, and in fact do correlate nicely for some brands. Among all brands, Hyundai does particularly well in this correlation, with no high-volume brand having a better correlation between EPA combined and Consumer Reports real-world fuel economy."
2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo: Introduction
Mon, 28 Jan 2013The Hyundai Veloster is indeed an automotive oddball, and that's part of the reason why we're so drawn to it. Even in base form, the Veloster is a cleverly packaged little wonder that's bursting with personality, and with the added grunt and visual aggression of the Turbo model, there's a lot to talk about.
Despite not really fitting into any one specific vehicle segment (unless you dump it into the all-too-vague "compact" class), the Veloster Turbo looks really good on paper, to say nothing of how it looks on the street. It's certainly a head-turner, and we're intrigued by the overall package of an oddly shaped three-door (or four-door?) with some forced induction motivation.
We've had a lot to say about the weird little Hyundai in the past, and we don't see the conversations about this car ending anytime soon. Thus, we've welcomed a matte gray example into the Autoblog long-term garage for one year of testing. This should definitely be interesting.
Hyundai Sante Fe gets zombie survival machine treatment for NY Comic-Con
Sat, 05 Oct 2013Surviving a zombie invasion isn't easy, and Hyundai takes life-or-undead situations pretty seriously, as made clear by its devotion to creating zombie-annihilating vehicles. Earlier this year, Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead comic series that gave birth to the hit television series of the same name, designed a Zombie Survival Machine around a Hyundai Veloster hatchback.
This year, TWD fan Anson Kuo has conjured up a Santa Fe sports utility vehicle capable of mowing down hoards of zombies with extra room for passengers and supplies. Hyundai says Kuo's design was built by Galpin Auto Sports and will be unveiled at New York Comic-Con on October 10.
"We love Anson Kuo's take on this Santa Fe Zombie Survival Machine - it's creative... and deadly," says Steve Shannon, vice president of marketing for Hyundai Motor America.
