2005 HUMMER H2 SUT

What I have up for sale is a one of a kind H2 SUT  it may have 121,691 miles on it but don’t let the miles fool you, I have replaced almost everything on this truck, brand new from GM transfer case, new steering gear box, new pitman arm, new idler arm, new tie rods inner and outer. I replaced the radiator, water pump and thermostat. New power steering pump as well. All new bushings all around with polyurethane bushings. I just replaced all the rotors will drilled and slotted rotors and performance pads, I added some nice hummer brake caliper covers while I was at it. Fresh tune up within the last 6 months. I have flushed and replaced the tranny filter also. I just replaced the rear main seal and oil pan seal this week, it was a small leak but I wanted it fixed for the new owner. It has cold air induction on it as well with K&N filter. It has an aftermarket exhaust but not sure what brand, it was on it when I bought the truck but it sounds awesome. It has a 6 in Fabtech lift with 38x15.50x20 Mickey Thomson MTZ tires and Weld racing wheels, dual shock hoop with dual fabtech shocks up front, dual fabtech steering stabilizer shocks, fabtech shocks in rear as well. It has aftermarket fender flares to help cover those massive tires. It has billet black chrome all over the outside of the truck that you can see in the pics. It has chrome side steps as well. All of the taillights and running lights have been tinted. It has the factory brush guard and rear spare tire carrier that swings out for access to the bed. It does have a few small scratches and paint chips but nothing major or really noticeable.

Now on to the inside of this beast it has been treated to carbon fiber all over the place. The seats are starting to wear but no tears or holes.

It has the factory bose system that sounds great and has factory NAV as well. It does have a DVD player and two brand new monitors in the head rest. The head liner has a few stains on it but nothing major, I just haven’t had the time to try to steam clean it. It does have the factory sunroof as well. The rear glass is power also and can be rolled down as well the seats can be folded and the back folded down just like on an avalanche to increase your cargo capacity.

Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers

Wed, Aug 14 2024

Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.

Mil-Spec 003 First Drive Review | The ultimate Hummer H1

Fri, Oct 5 2018

We're in something of a golden age for automotive restomodding, and into a heady mix that includes Singer's reimagined 911s, Icon's fancy off-roaders, and lots of updated Land Rovers. The latest company with ambitions to become a top-tier custom car brand is Mil-Spec, which aims to do what the aforementioned companies do, but with the big, brash, blunt Hummer H1. And in particular, the company is aiming to make its Hummers a compelling alternative to a used Hummer H1 Alpha. The Alpha is generally considered to be the best of the breed with the most powerful diesel engine offered, larger brakes, and a nicer interior compared with its predecessors. To find out whether the company's early efforts live up to that ambition, Mil-Spec invited us to drive their third completed vehicle, Mil-Spec 003. It started life as a 1995 Hummer H1, and as with all of Mil-Spec's vehicles, it was completely disassembled, and the body and frame media-blasted down to metal. The frame and related components are then powder-coated with a black gloss finish. The truck's aluminum body, in this case a four-door hardtop pickup variant, but is coated in a resilient bedliner-like material designed for easy care. Bits of Kevlar are mixed in with the material for strength, and it can be tinted different colors and have rougher or finer textures. Underneath the body, one of the five different engines that were available on the H1, usually a diesel V8, is replaced with a 6.6-liter Duramax LBZ turbodiesel V8. This engine was available on heavy duty Chevy and GMC pickup trucks, and a related engine was used in the Hummer H1 Alpha. Whereas the engine in the H1 Alpha made 300 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque mated to a 5-speed automatic, the Mil-Spec's LBZ has had turbo upgrades and a different ECU tune allowing it to produce 500 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque. It's also coupled to an Allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission. The mechanical upgrades don't stop with the engine and transmission. The inboard brakes are given drilled and vented discs, and an ARB Air Locker locking rear differential fitted. Dual auxiliary transmission coolers also make an appearance and can be switched on as needed. The 003 received 20-inch wheels with 38-inch mud terrain tires, but larger tires can be added if desired.

GM Design shows another early Hummer EV sketch

Sun, Aug 8 2021

Like a new mother who's still so excited about her one-year-old baby that she can't stop showing ultrasound photos, General Motors is so excited about its biggest new baby, the battery-electric GMC Hummer, that it can't stop showing off development design sketches. The off-road monster with the 200-kWh Ultium battery pack debuted online on October 21 last year. The next day, the GM Design Instagram page posted some of the Hummer's early "theme sketches" leading to the production version. These had a conceptual flair to them, but were rather restrained. A month later, GM uncovered a series of development renderings showing off a much wilder truck bursting with more angles than a geometry text book. The archives have opened up again with a new "ideation sketch," this one between the first believable sketches and the second truck that Master Chief and Doomguy share on their days off.  All three sets of drawings show similar three-box proportions, it's the details that got a ton of love. On this newest sketch, the fenders flare a touch more than on the production truck, but the wheel wells are cut with the kind of clearance found on a Baja 1000 Trophy Truck. Out back, save for the tow hooks, the rear end is totally different than production. The sketch puts illuminated Hummer script across a narrow tailgate flanked by small square, taillights housing six individual elements. Beneath that, a bumper-less rear end puts nothing more than a sloped bash pate between the truck and the rocks it's just scrambled over. To our eyes, this is the best blend of production-ready comfort from the first sketches and zoot suit angles from the second that we've seen so far.  First deliveries of the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 are expected before the year is out. When we get a chance to absorb the truck in its native habitats, we'll know whether there's cause for disappointment at what could have been. If so, with all this hunger among the monied for something different, we feel like restomodders have been given the perfect head starts on custom rebodied Hummers that would make things right.
