This is my baby and I have dreaded this day for a very long time but the day has come and I am selling her. This is a 2005 Hummer H2 SUT with a Duramax and Allison Transmission. This thing is amazing I have loved driving this thing ever since I bought it. This was my daily driver so it does have 81,000 miles on it but they say a Duramax doesn't fully break in until 100,000 and it may not be perfect but I took great care of it so it is in good condition. The swap cost about $125,000 on its own on top of the price of the Hummer itself. I drove this thing like a baby but boy when you need it too it just goes and I have never had an issue with it. The swap was done by  company in town called Sin City Hummers which they put in the LLY Duramax and The 5 speed Allison with the transfer case so it has 4WD and it looks like it came from the factory. Then I brought it over to PPE to make it even better. PPE upgraded the transmission to a stage four so the thing is nearly bulletproof plus a billet torque converter and then I had them install injector tips from DDP which add 75 extra horsepower and fuel efficiency. They also added a lifter pump, a better intake billet tie rod sleeves and four inch exhaust. All this work was defiantly worth it because this thing screams and it still drives extremely smooth. After that I also had them add a new fiber glass hood and a custom front push bar which makes it look amazing. Now once all the performance stuff was done I moved on the the luxury part of the vehicle. I have headrest tvs put in the back seat with individual DVD players in each one, I added a 1200 watt amp with a ten inch sub under the backseat, I had a Viper alarm system installed with remote start, I also had a Whelen intercom system installed, then most recently I had them put in an JVC head unit with an iPod hook up and with bluetooth so you can have hands free calling also it is XM ready plus I had a back up camera put in that turns on when you put the truck in reverse. I also got 35 inch tires with 17 inch rims put on it but the tires are pretty worn so I am going to sell the truck with a different set of rims and tires on it which are almost brand new and the tires have about 90% tread left. The tires are Toyo Open Country's 35x12.50x17LT and the rims are 17 inch from Robby Gordan's company. I will include a picture of the new tires below. Now don't forget the vehicle was bought fully loaded on top of all of the stuff I added. It had heated seats front and rear, OnStar, cruise control, power everything, Bose sound system, Amp power steps, extra tire carrier and a very nice interior to boot. Believe me this thing was my baby so it was serviced regularly at my local dealership and was always kept in top condition. I hope whoever decides to buy this vehicle will love it as much as I did and I know whoever does this thing will treat them right. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and on that note happy bidding!!!

The electric Hummer gets a new logo

Sat, Apr 11 2020

GM submitted three trademark applications to government offices here and in Canada, as discovered by GM Authority. Two applications went to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office on February 4 this year, seeking to reserve the new Hummer logo, at the top in the image above. Note, the two logos aren't to scale; they're about the same size all things being equal, but we shrunk the old mark. GM sent a second application to the USPTO on February 7 requesting the brand name "Hummer" for application to "motor land vehicles, namely, automobiles, trucks and sport utility vehicles; bicycles." True, we've seen the new Hummer script stretched across the front of the coming electric pickup in a teaser clip, but the paperwork continues the process of getting the entire continent ready for the alternate universe resurrection of one of America's most notorious brands.     In 2010, gas prices were in orbit, GM committed to closing the Hummer brand, vandals were setting fire to the scattered Hummers left on dealer lots, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 made 638 horsepower, the eco-minded revered the Toyota Prius and the Tesla Model S was still two years away. In that year, it would have been hard to say something more bonkers than, "Hummer's coming back in ten years as an electric pickup, its top trim making 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of torque." But here we are. The new logo's squareness connects it to the resolute bluntness of the old mark, yet the thinner font and chopped corners both modernize the old logo and lessen its truculence. The brand appears headed the same way, with lurid specs and square-jawed looks just like old times, but having in LeBron James a more modern take on the hardcore male vibe than it once got from (unpaid) association with guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger. To be fair, old Hummer commercials always featured women in the driver's seat, or men and young boys dreaming of big adventures, or Regis Philbin chatting up models, but the marketing department couldn't — or didn't want to — outrun the lineup's reputation on the street. We'll see how the electric version and its “incredible on- and off-road capability" fare. According to the teaser site, the new Hummer's debut is still on track for May 20. If the brand manages to recreate the old H3T pickup but with an electric powertrain, it's got one buyer right here lined up already. Related Video:

Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers

Wed, Aug 14 2024

Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.

For EV drivers, realities may dampen the electric elation

Mon, Feb 20 2023

The Atlantic, a decades-old monthly journal well-regarded for its intelligent essays on international news, American politics and cultural happenings, recently turned its attention to the car world. A piece that ran in The Atlantic in October examined the excesses of the GMC Hummer EV for compromising safety. And now in its latest edition, the magazine ran a compelling story about the challenges of driving an electric vehicle and how those experiences “mythologize the car as the great equalizer.” Titled “The Inconvenient Truth About Electric Vehicles,” the story addresses the economics of EVs, the stresses related to range anxiety, the social effects of owning an electric car — as in, affording one — and the overarching need for places to recharge that car. Basically, author Andrew Moseman says that EV life isn't so rosy: “On the eve of the long-promised electric-vehicle revolution, the myth is due for an update. Americans who take the plunge and buy their first EV will find a lot to love Â… they may also find that electric-vehicle ownership upends notions about driving, cost, and freedom, including how much car your money can buy. "No one spends an extra $5,000 to get a bigger gas tank in a Honda Civic, but with an EV, economic status is suddenly more connected to how much of the world you get to see — and how stressed out or annoyed youÂ’ll feel along the way.” Moseman charts how a basic Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck might start at $55,000, but an extended-range battery, which stretches the distance on a charge from 230 miles to 320, “raises the cost to at least $80,000. The trend holds true with all-electric brands such as Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid, and for many electric offerings from legacy automakers. The bigger battery option can add a four- or five-figure bump to an already accelerating sticker price.” As for the charging issue, the author details his anxiety driving a Telsa in Death Valley, with no charging stations in sight. “For those who never leave the comfort of the city, these concerns sound negligible," he says. "But so many of us want our cars to do everything, go everywhere, ferry us to the boundless life we imagine (or the one weÂ’re promised in car commercials),” he writes. His conclusions may raise some hackles among those of us who value automotive independence — not to mention fun — over practicalities.
