1999 Honda Prelude Type Sh W/jrsc Kit on 2040-cars
Wilmington, Delaware, United States
|
CONDITION: Smoke free vehicle well maintained over the years. Exterior has a few small dings and paint
blemishes but no rust or major cosmetic issues. Car runs great as is for daily driving. Rare Jackson Racing blower kit included with custom assembled components for more serious tuning.
HISTORY: I'm the second owner of this ficus pearl green Prelude type SH which I bought in 2001 from Scott Honda in West Chester PA, having 41,000 miles. I seek to sell it AS IS with a complete (uninstalled) Jackson Racing supercharger kit and accessories. The car has many modifications all done with the intention of running 6psi boost safely, using a working E-manage Ultimate for fuel management. The JRSC kit was purchased USED through ebay in 2005, having less than 5,000 miles on it. The blower has also been modified over the stock factory condition. I ported, radiused and polished the internal blower passages to reduce intake temps. I no longer have the time to finish the project and hope to pass it on to a Honda enthusiast who can make the most of what I've put together. I have all the original parts and some Honda special tools I will include as well. The car has been garage kept and barely driven for the last eight years. I have receipts for most of the aftermarket parts and repairs over the years. PAYMENT: Paypal Deposit, Cash or Bank Check upon pickup. SHIPPING: Buyer is responsible for picking up vehicle and original parts, though I will meet them within a reasonable mile radius of the greater Wilmington, DE area. Analysts say Honda's growing woes in Europe not just the economy
Tue, 12 Feb 2013There is no denying that the European auto market is taking its lumps right now - just ask Peugeot - but Honda might be taking this downturn on the chin a little harder than some of the other Japanese automakers doing business on the continent. Automotive News Europe is reporting that things have gotten so bad for Honda that it will be cutting 800 workers from Swindon, England plant that builds the CR-V, Civic and Jazz (a.k.a. Fit). This will be the first time Honda has made such cuts in more than 20 years.
Despite an increase in output last year over 2011 (165,607 units compared to 97,459), the Swindon plant is still running well below its full capacity (250,000/year), and its 66 percent capacity is less than the expected breakeven point of industry analysts (75 to 80 percent). Unlike in the US, however, Honda's new CR-V and Civic aren't selling well, and the similarly sized Nissan Qashqai is outselling the CR-V at a rate of more than five to one. Slow CR-V sales are blamed on a relatively high price and the crossover's conservative styling. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, the report notes that Nissan continues to experience growth at its UK operations, leading analysts to suggest that Honda can't blame the sour economy for much of its woes.
Sunday Drive: The future looks bright, and the present ain't bad, either
Sun, Oct 1 2017A look at the week that just passed proves that Autoblog readers love looking into the future. Spy photos of the next Porsche 911 and a mysterious Dodge Demon prototype led the way last week as some of our most popular stories. A teaser from Subaru has our appetites whetted for the next WRX, and we're intrigued by the value proposition offered by the rear-wheel-drive Kia Stinger. Long-distance motorcycle tourers went gaga over leaked images of the next Honda Gold Wing. Such intense interest comes as no surprise considering that it's the standard by which all its competitors are judged, and it looks to be getting some serious new technology in its next iteration. And finally, we can't help tooting our own horn a bit. Autoblog just launched a brand-new Car Finder tool, which, after getting a few data points to work with, offers up a perfect list of vehicles for new-car buyers. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Porsche 911 to get digital interior — only the tach will be analog Spy Shots: What the devil is Dodge up to with this narrow-body Challenger Demon? Affordable, lightweight Honda roadster revival in the works?
Thu, 12 Sep 2013There's a joke phrase from a popular movie that gets tossed around the Autoblog offices when ever a big change or announcement is coming: "Hold on to your butts." It's usually accompanied by a video of Samuel L. Jackson. That's the advice we'd recommend for reading this article. GTChannel is reporting that a new, small, lightweight, quick successor to the Honda S2000 is being "seriously considered."
Citing an unnamed source within the Japanese automaker, GTChannel goes on to list a few interesting tidbits about the new vehicle. From the sounds of it, though, if Honda is planning a new roadster, it's in the absolute earliest stages of development.
What's apparently being discussed is a car that's smaller than a Mazda MX-5, in terms of its dimensions. Under hood would be a VTEC engine, displacing anywhere from 1.3 to 1.5 liters, with GT Channel making the apt suggestion that the 1.5-liter, 132-horsepower mill from the Honda Fit could make its way into the new roadster. Curb weight would be in the realm of 2,000 pounds, which would make a 130-odd-hp engine seem absolutely heroic. Rear-wheel drive would be a given, although we aren't sure about the site's suggestion that a five-speed manual will be on offer. Styling could draw from the N-One, a popular, Honda-badged kei car.
