1997 Honda Prelude Vtec-new Paint, Jdm 50k Engine, Clean Title In Hand!! on 2040-cars
Westminster, California, United States
I just recently purchased this car, but now I have to move out of state at the last minute, so unfortunately, I cannot keep this vehicle with me any longer. Because of this, I need to sell the car ASAP. Here are some info for the car:
-The car currently has 109,xxx miles on the odometer and chassis -JDM Vtec engine H22A4. Engine had 45k on it when it was put into the car at 104k, so now the engine should have around 50k. Along with the engine, all parts are also new (timing belt, water pump, alternator, etc.). I have the receipt for this that I can show and give you. -Transmission was rebuilt barely a week ago with a 2 year warranty. I also have the receipt to show and give you. -Like-new tires from BigO tires, which I also have the receipt for. -Brand new paint with 2 year warranty, also with receipt -Passed smog last week and will be good for 90 days. I have the receipt and results to give you as well. -Registration paid for and good until FEB 2015 -CARB legal AEM intake, full catback Greddy exhaust, NRG quick release with Mugen steering wheel (also have original steering wheel available), carbon fiber interior trim, great sound system with kenwood head unit with 12" kicker sub The car is very fast and strong, over 200hp and mechanically sound with everything pretty much brand new. You don't have to worry about any major maintenance for a very long time. Drive in style and put your mind at ease with a strong and reliable car with new components and receipts for everything. Please email with questions, for more pictures, or to schedule a test drive. This is a great deal for a Prelude with practically everything new. Thanks for looking. UPDATES ***check engine light just turned on last night. An O2 sensor replacement should fix it. However, if it were me that still had the car, I would leave it alone since smog is already done and will be good for 2 years. I'd drive it and replace it then. Only $40 at Napa Auto. This does not hurt the performance of the car or engine. The engine and transmission is still strong and smooth! I have reduced the price again because of this. I'm an honest person and will tell you exactly what is wrong with the car to my best knowledge instead of clearing everything and hiding it. ***Title just got mailed home to me, I have the title in hand now! Ready to sell and transfer! ***New O-Rings were purchased from Honda Dealership along with new thermostat were installed last week! Radiator flushed and filled as well! |

Next Honda Civic to get 1.5L turbo
Fri, Mar 13 2015The low-displacement, turbocharged engine is all the rage these days throughout the auto industry, whether considering the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder EcoBoost from Ford or even Ferrari opting for a downsized turbo V8 in the latest 488 GTB. It looks like Honda might be the next one to follow this trend, and it could happen as soon as the next-gen Civic. "Downsized turbocharging will be the base, even for the Civic," Honda Research and Development boss Yoshiharu Yamamoto said to Automotive News. That included the US, he indicated. "Quite a bit will switch over to turbo, but there will still be some naturally aspirated ones remaining." The engine reportedly is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that offers better fuel economy, lower emissions and the power of a naturally aspirated mill of between 2.0- and 2.4-liters, according to AN. Since the current Civic gets 143 horsepower from its 1.8-liter four that suggests a healthy power bump for the future model. Making the news even more tantalizing, the new Civic with the 1.5-liter turbo could be revealed before the end of the year, according to Automotive News. Honda already confirmed a $340 million investment into its Anna, Ohio, plant to build the engines later this year. Honda first mentioned a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in 2013 along with the 2.0-liter turbo now in the Civic Type R in Europe. At the time, the brand said these engines would appear in "a number of future global models." The HR-V in the US was also previously rumored to use the same powerplant.
Refreshed 2014 Honda Civic Coupe to bow at SEMA
Fri, 25 Oct 2013Honda has announced plans to bring a refreshed, 2014 Honda Civic Coupe to the 2013 SEMA Show, set to kick off on November 5. Honda's struggles with the ninth-generation Civic have been widely publicized, and while the 2013 model year sedan has seen a significant overhaul, the two-door is now getting some additional enhancements for 2014.
Honda has released one teaser image of the Civic Si Coupe to go along with the announcement, but we can discern a few things. The Si Coupe now features a larger rear spoiler, along with a restyled, more aggressive rear bumper, complete with a diffuser. The taillights look smoked, and the wheels look larger than the current Si's alloys.
Besides those details, it looks like we'll be waiting until November 5 to see just what Honda has in store for the Civic. Take a look below for the full press release from Honda.
Consumer Reports says infotainment systems 'growing first-year reliability plague'
Mon, 27 Oct 2014The Consumer Reports Annual Auto Reliability Survey (right) is out, and the top two spots look much the same as last year's list with Lexus and Toyota in first and second place, respectively. However, there are some major shakeups for 2014, with Acura plunging eight spots from third in 2013 to 11th this year, and Mazda replaces it on the lowest step of the podium. Honda and Audi round out the top five. This year's list includes six Japanese brands in the top 10, two Europeans, one America and one Korean.
Acura isn't the only one taking a tumble, though. Infiniti is the biggest loser this year by dropping 14 spots to 20th place. Other big losses come from Mercedes-Benz with an 11-place fall to 24th, and GMC, which declines 10 positions to 19th.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's not traditional mechanical bugs hauling down these automaker's reliability scores. Instead, pesky problems with infotainment systems are taking a series toll on the rankings. According to Consumer Reports, complaints about "in-car electronics" were the most grumbled about element in new cars. Problem areas included things like unresponsive touchscreens, issues pairing phones and multi-use controllers that refused to work right.
