Hello:

You are bidding on our 2010 Honda Pilot EX-L RES.  We purchased this new in February of 2010 from Honda of Frontenac in St. Louis, and as you can see by the miles it isn't driven much.  We still have the original window sticker as well.  In addition to being fully loaded from the factory, we purchased the following additional genuine Honda accessories:

  • Roof rack cross bars
  • Towing wiring harness  (never used, as we've never towed anything with it)
  • All-weather floor mats for all three rows and cargo area - these have been in place since new.  Original mats included as well.
In addition, we just put new Michelin Latitude Tour tires on all four corners.

We baby our cars, and this is just about as close to new as you will find.  You will see from the photos that there is a small scratch on the top of the front bumper, and another small scuff on the front left lower part of the bumper.  We have no idea where these came from, but our guess is a shopping cart.  Other than that, there are no scratches anywhere on the car.  The photos speak for themselves (although perhaps I should have cleaned the engine compartment, but given the small amount of dirt under the hood you can see it's a low mileage car).

If you're here looking, you know what great cars these are.  We've been very happy with it, but it's time for it to find a new home.  Buyer is responsible for any shipping costs, or of course you can come pick it up in person.  A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of your winning bid, and final payment with certified funds is required before I will release the car to you.  We own it free and clear, so there will be no delay for a lien release, etc.

Our Pilot is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this listing if it sells locally first.  Please let me know if you have any questions at all, and thanks for looking!

Honda Ridgeline to take two-year dirt nap before resurrection

Sun, 14 Jul 2013

Three years ago, Honda said there would be no new-generation Honda Ridgeline coming in 2011. In late 2011, when there was still no word on a replacement for the little truck that's been carrying on pretty much the same since 2006, within the space of a month both Honda's US truck planner and the CEO of American Honda said the Ridgeline would continue and that it was an integral part of the lineup.
But that doesn't mean it can't take a two-year timeout. A report in Ward's Auto says that the Lincoln, AL plant that builds the Ridgeline will cease its production in September, 2014 and a new one won't arrive until 2016. That's a walk-back from when the plan was to have the current truck run until a week before the next-generation truck went into production. Even so, Honda still says the Ridgeline isn't going away forever, a company spokesman telling Ward's, "Ridgeline continues to be an important part of our lineup."
2016 is a long way away, though, and we all know how quickly a product line put into a coma can end up suffering fatal consequences. Even though we keep talking about the Ridgeline, perhaps what Honda is actually saying is that the small pickup market is important to them, and they're working on a way to take better advantage of it than the Ridgeline was doing. We'll find out one way or the other in three years.

2015 Honda Fit delayed until June for quality checks

Fri, 23 May 2014

If you are looking forward to the launch of the 2015 Honda Fit and can't wait to buy one, we have some bad news. Honda is holding off on sales a little longer to make sure everything is just right. The brand's latest subcompact was originally scheduled to start arriving at dealers this spring, but the introduction was delayed due to issues at Honda's new factory in Celaya, Mexico.
Consumer Reports learned of the delayed launch when the Fit it ordered didn't arrive on time. It contacted Honda and was told that the problem had to do with a "shipping delay nationally." The company was taking "a measured approach" to getting the new models out of the new factory, thus delaying shipment to dealers until June.
Honda spokesperson Steve Kinkade gave a few more details about the situation to Autoblog. He indicated that the factory in Mexico is new and is producing these vehicles for the first time. Therefore, the company is taking the extra time "to do a final verification on quality," said Kinkade. He also confirmed the delay until the second week of June.

Honda settles class-action lawsuit over oil-burning V6s

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Although we hadn't heard of this issue before, Automotive News reports that Honda has agreed to settle a massive class-action lawsuit brought against it for engine trouble potentially affecting nearly 1.6 million vehicles. The lawsuit includes Accord (2008-12), Odyssey (2008-13), Pilot (2009-13) and Crosstour (2010-13) models equipped with the 3.5-liter V6 with Variable Cylinder Management, which might experience engine misfire, excessive oil burning and premature spark plug fouling issues.
As part of the settlement, Honda will extend the powertrain warranty on these models for eight years (from time of purchase or lease) with no mileage limitation, and it will also reimburse customers who had to pay out-of-pocket expenses for related repairs such as spark plugs, pistons or, in some cases, apparently, an entirely new engine. (Of course, the repairs had to be related to certain trouble codes.) Lawyers will get no more than $800,000 from Honda and the guy who originally started the case, Vince Eagen, will get $1,000 for his "time and effort."
The final ruling on the matter will take place on March 21, 2014, and if you want to see if you're affected and what options you have in the settlement, check out this .pdf document with all the details.
