It's time for me to move on to something else. The S2000 has been fun but somewhere out there a new project awaits. When I bought this car, I looked at no less than 9 S2000s before I found one that wasn't a complete piece of crap. You wouldn't believe how hard that is. I wasted a lot of gas money driving around the east coast. The most frequent problems were crappy interior conditions, curbed wheels, and 5,6,7 + owners. I finally found one locally that was engineer-owned, low owner with a much better interior condition. Contact me with any questions.

Pros:
Adult owned, non-smoker, no pets, no fat chicks, etc...
I'm the 3rd owner (the first was an engineer, the 2nd owner only owned the car for 5,000 miles)
ALWAYS garaged, Georgia car it's entire life
All documentation including gas receipts, maintenance receipts, mod receipts, original window sticker, etc...
3 keys: 1 Honda S2000 key w/ remote, 1 spare Honda key, 1 valet key
Very well taken care of interior for the age (I looked at 9 S2000s in person and this one had the best condition interior BY FAR)
Motor only gets Mobil 1 Extended Life and Honda oil filters and fresh oil drain plug washers
No leaks of any kind
No mechanical issues, everything works, AC cold, clutch doesn't slip, no transmission issues, blah blah blah
Top in great condition and no leaks
Never been in an accident
Practically new tires (they have about 1,000 miles on them)
You get all OEM parts with the purchase (AP2V1 wheels/tires, full stock exhaust, stock air box, stock radio, stock shift boot, stock suspension, stock lug nuts)

Cons:
Front bumper and lip have typical high mileage road wear (chips, nicks, bug spots). Looks fine from 10ft but I would recommend getting them repainted fresh.
Rear bumper has a spot from the previous owner that was touched up. Can't even tell until you are close up, but please note.
Fenders have been rolled and all of them have cracked paint along the very edge (despite proper heating and slow rolling). Can't tell when looking at them from the outside but when you get down and look up you can see.
Driver's fender has a slight dent from rolling the fender
Other minor wear normal for the mileage

Extras:
OEM front chin spoiler
Enkei NT03-M 18x9.5 +40 (only 1,000 miles, Silver, perfect condition, currently plasti-dipped but I will remove for the new owner if desired)
Continental ExtremeContact DW 245/35/18 tires (only 1,000 miles)
Megan Street Series Coilovers (only 1,000 miles, handles well)
K&N FIPK Intake
Berk HPC Coated Header
Invidia 70mm Test Pipe (stock cat included)
GReddy Ti-C Single 70mm catback exhaust (no longer made)
Radio door and center console "aluminum" wrapped with 3M dinoc (can remove for new owner if desired, but looks a lot better)
New Redline Goods italian leather perforated shift boot (matches armrest)
JVC bluetooth media headunit with microphone and Modifry harness
3-4 extra sealed Honda OEM oil filters and new crush washers

Honda Jazz looks like a good fit for Paris

Wed, 17 Sep 2014

The quirky, utilitarian little hatchback that we know as the Honda Fit in the US carries the more melodious Jazz name in Europe. And while the newest Fit is already on sale in our market, folks are still waiting for it across the pond. Honda is unveiling its new Jazz Prototype to the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October, and it's nearly identical to what is currently on sale in North America. In fact, it's hard to image Honda changing much from this "prototype" before launching it for Europeans.
The Jazz's design is exactly what you would expect after even a glance at the current North American Fit. Except for a different wing at the rear, a shark fin antenna and a new set of wheels, this Jazz plays the same tune we've heard before.
The one thing keeping the Fit and Jazz from truly being identical siblings is that the European model packs Honda's new 1.3-liter i-VTEC Earth Dreams engine under the hood, rather than the 1.5-liter used in North America. But just like our Fit, the Jazz will be available with a six-speed manual or CVT. The Japanese automaker says that the Jazz goes on sale in the summer of 2015. Scroll down to read the company's announcement for its upcoming hatch.

Honda reveals three new turbo VTEC engines, including Civic Type R 2.0L

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

It's fair to say that in recent years, Honda has been viewed as a laggard when it comes to engine and gearbox development, seemingly missing the boat on direct-injection, forced-induction and high gear-count transmissions, among other things. But under its Earth Dreams banner, the Japanese automaker is showing new vigor, with the latest proof being this trio of just-announced powerplants.
Measuring 1.0-liters, 1.5-liters and 2.0-liters in displacement, this array of three- and four-cylinder engines boasts turbocharging and direct-injection along with the latest iteration of Honda's famed VTEC variable valve timing hardware. "Most suitable for small-to-medium-sized vehicles," the largest engine is said to be good for more than 276 horsepower and will slot into the eagerly awaited Civic Type R, iconic red valve cover and all.
Unfortunately, few other details about the hot Civic's engine or any of the others are being made public at this time, and there's no official word about the engines coming to North American in the Type R or any other model. Given that all the engines are complaint with stringent Euro 6 emissions standards, they figure to be clean enough, and Honda says that these have been developed as global powerplants, so we'd be shocked if they didn't come ashore in new or updated products over the next few years... even if they leave the CTR on the boat.

Honda names first woman, foreigner to its board of directors

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

General Motors may have made headlines when it recently appointed the industry's first female CEO, but Honda has long lagged woefully behind the times when it comes to the diversity of its top management. In fact, its entire board has until now been composed entirely of Japanese men, with not a foreigner or a woman in sight. But as Reuters reports, that's all changing with the nominations to its latest board.
The slate of new directors named to Honda's board includes one Hideko Kunii, a gender-equality advocate and engineering professor from the Shibaura Institute of Technology. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Kunii spent the bulk of her career at Japanese electronic imaging company Ricoh. Alongside Kunii, Honda has also named Tomoko Mizoguchi to the board as responsible for the company's South American operations, making him the first foreigner to serve on the company's board of directors. (Well, almost: Mizoguchi was born in Brazil, but of Japanese ancestry.)
The appointments follow the recent switch Honda made in its official language policy from Japanese to English, signaling a shift in outlook for a company that has long stuck to traditional Japanese business models. Honda was the first of the major Japanese automakers to begin manufacturing in the United States, and has long relied on hiring local managers to run its regional operations around the world. It has, however, resisted placing foreigners on its board of directors until now, relying instead on senior male managers promoted from within its ranks to serve on its board. This in comparison to Toyota, which has seven foreigners and one woman on its 68-member board of directors, and Nissan, which has fifteen foreigners (including its chief executive) and one woman on its 58-member board.
