2001 Honda Odyssey With Low Miles on 2040-cars

Up for your consideration is my 2001 Honda Odyssey that is in good condition. This vehicle was purchased new by a friend of my mine from a local dealership here in Atlanta for $27,000. I still have the original window sticker. I bought it from him a few years ago when we needed a vehicle. Hopefully you can see from the pictures that the van is in good shape and has been well cared for. There are no rips or tears or excessive wear in the interior. There are a few scrapes and dings on the exterior, but overall in good shape in my opinion. The vehicle runs well and gets over 25 mpg when your cruising. We have taken it to upstate New York as well as to southern Florida and we have not had any problems with it. The tires and brakes are good and everything works on the vehicle. The AC is cold, it has dual sliding power side doors, both work as they should. All the power windows work as they should. The only issue we have ever had with the van is hitting a trailer hitch on a large truck which cracked the front bumper and punctured the radiator. I bought all new parts, radiator, ac condenser, and bumper cover and a friend of mine who works at a local body shop did the repairs and painted it. Since that time, every once in a while when you stop the car quickly, several lights come on the dash for a moment, all the warning lights for the doors flash on as well as a couple of other warning lights. But after a few seconds they just go off. There are no warning lights on after you start the car or when your driving. I asked a couple of people I know and even took it to the dealership and there were no codes in the computer, so I just ignore them since they only flash on for a few seconds occasionaly.. The new owner can choose to try and solve the mystery. But since it doesn't interfer with the driving of the car I just wanted to make mention of it. It doesn't leak or use any oil. For a 13 year old vehicle it starts and runs well. I am not a dealer so I can't issue a warranty, the car is being sold "as is", but with that being said, I believe you could fly into Atlanta and drive this van home no matter where you live. If you have any questions please feel free to email me and I will do my best to answer you quickly. I have six vehicles and only three drivers in the home, so I am paying way to much in insurance to keep all these vehicles and that is the only reason I am selling this van. If you need the van shipped I will do my best to coordinate with the shipper and get the van to them, but it will be the buyers responsibility to secure a shipper. Thank you for your interest and have a nice day.

Watch Honda lay waste to world's fastest lawnmower record

Wed, 02 Apr 2014

Honda has been working on its high-performance Mean Mower for a while now. In a recent attempt to take the top speed title, it didn't make its 130-miles-per-hour top speed target, but it still managed to set a new Guinness World Record has the world's fastest lawnmower at 116.57 mph. While the video certifying the run was uploaded to YouTube on April 1, this is no prank. The Guinness run was made on March 8 at the Idiafa Proving Ground in Tarragona, Spain.
To claim the record, the lawnmower had to run through a 100-meter speed trap, and it had to make two passes in opposite directions within an hour with the average taken between them. Guinness also specifies that to take the title the vehicle must still be able to cut grass and look like a lawnmower. The speed was still plenty to beat the previous record of 96.529-mph set by Bobby Cleveland on a Snapper race mower at the Bonneville Salt Flats in September 2010.
The Mean Mower is based on a Honda HF2620 Lawn Tractor that's been modified by British Touring Car Championship squad Team Dynamics. It has a newly fabricated chassis from 4130 chromoly steel and packs a 1.0-liter engine from a Honda VTR Firestorm motorcycle with a six-speed sequential gearbox. The engine produces 109 horsepower and 71 pound-feet of torque - enough power to reach 60 mph in around four seconds. The suspension and wheels come from an ATV, and the cutter deck has been remade in fiberglass. The grass bag holds the fuel tank, oil cooler and secondary radiator. The engine no longer actually cuts grass. Instead, the blade is driven by two electric motors.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively. Honda's first production jet takes off from North Carolina

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Plenty of automakers have backgrounds in aircraft manufacturing. BMW, Bristol, Mitsubishi, Saab and Spyker all started out in the airplane business. But Honda is going the opposite direction, expanding its automotive (not to mention motorcycle, ATV, marine engine and power equipment) business with the launch of the HondaJet. And that project has just taken a big step forward.
After starting production a year and a half ago, the Japanese industrial giant recently completed its first customer HondaJet, and has now taken that initial production aircraft to the skies for its landmark first flight. The aircraft left the production facility in Greensboro and took off on Friday morning from Piedmont Triad International Airport in North Carolina - the same state where the Wright Brothers undertook their first flight over a century ago.
The HondaJet undertook an 84-minute test flight, climbing to 15,500 feet and reaching a speed of 348 knots. That works out to 400 miles per hour - assuredly faster than any Honda (save for maybe a prototype for the same aircraft) has traveled before. The aircraft is designed to cruise at a maximum of 420 knots (483 mph) and reach a maximum altitude of 43,000 feet.
