This 2000 Honda insight is looking for a new home, As I can not use it to its full potential any longer. I'm working from home. This insight has low miles and has had regularly maintenance like clock work. If your a commuter or someone that just loves to save money this is the car for you! This car makes the Toyota Prius a gas hog, as I can regularly get 65+ MPG on the freeway, usually with 55+ combined! I've gotten a few trips to avg 85 MPG. Please note this takes extreme concentration to NOT speed and use the cars natural momentum but it can be done. The cars lifetime avg is 54MPG. This car has had regular maintenance, the first owner took it to the same dealer to have all the work done, at university Honda in Davis, CA for nearly 10yrs. Under my care, I've performed the maintenance (I'm second owner). I've highlighted a little of that below:
- Clean Californian title!
- A/c is extra cold, and working great!
- 97,xxx miles
- 5 Speed, Manual transmission, silky smooth shifting
- New Battery pack by university honda 1/2010
- New 12v battery 1/2012
- New cabin filter/ Air filter 2/2013
- New Honda insight cargo net 3/2013
- New tires 5/2013 OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE92 (less then 500 miles on them)
- Mobil 1 synthetic 0-20 Oil change 6/25
- Hybrid never needs to be smogged!
Please understand this is a 13 year old used car and it does have minor day to day scratches and dings. The only one that is notable is in the first picture on on the hood, from tree branch. This was professionally repaired but still noticeable. The car is not perfect but is in good condition for the age and millage. I'm trying to fairly represent the car. If you have any question feel free to ask. I do have many more pictures but E-bays picture rules will not accept more uploads.
Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell at any time. This is a used car being sold AS-IS, ask any questions you may have and I will answer them as honestly as I can.

Is Fernando Alonso preparing to sit out 2016?
Mon, Nov 30 2015Things have not been going well for Fernando Alonso since moving to McLaren. In fact they've been going so poorly that the Spanish driver may end up sitting out next season if things don't improve. At least those are the rumors presently occupying the Formula One paddock. The notion was first raised by McLaren chief Ron Dennis. When asked by reporters about Alonso's near-term future with the team, Dennis said, "I have an open mind to anything, and some of the ideas have involved those sorts of considerations, yes, sabbatical years etcetera." Though far from confirmed, the basic idea would be to see how next year's car performs in pre-season testing, and if it's not up to spec, Alonso could end up sitting out a season while McLaren and Honda get their partnership up to speed, so to speak. Alonso appeared to be puzzled by the prospect his boss raised, but couldn't rule it out, either. It would be a rather unprecedented move, but could end up avoiding some frustrations as the Anglo-Japanese teething process works itself out with time. Alonso has been a constant on the grid since 2003, missing only two grands prix in thirteen seasons: the 2005 United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis when all the Michelin-equipped teams sat out the race in protest, and the Australian Grand Prix at the beginning of this year, when Alonso was still recovering from a crash in pre-season testing. Out of 254 grands prix contested to date, Fernando has landed on the podium 97 times, including 32 wins and two world championships. This season, however, he's only finished in the points once, with his fifth-place finish in Hungary. Of the eighteen races he contested this year, his car failed to get him to the finish line altogether at seven. His seventeenth place in the final standings for the season are the worst he's done since his debut in 2001 with Minardi (the team now known as Toro Rosso). 1997 Acura Integra Type R auctioned for $63,800
Mon, Oct 1 2018The Acura Integra, also known as the Honda Integra, was a front-wheel-drive sport compact car that neatly slotted between the Honda Civic and the Honda Accord. The Integra's sportiness wasn't just in its design, as there were a number of quite powerful engine choices for it, and some handling improvements. The mid-to-late-1990s second-generation car was available as the nearly-200-horsepower Type R version, which made a lasting impression no matter if you were an Acura customer, a Honda customer, a British motoring journalist putting the car through its paces in Wales or a PlayStation Gran Turismo gamer driving a virtual Integra at a fictional race track. The bug-eyed, sharply detailed Integra Type R, complete with a strengthened chassis, lightened spec, white wheels and a sizable rear wing, was an instant classic, and two decades later their values are definitely on the rise. No wonder, as they've been called the best-handling front-wheel-drive cars made, and there's some strong competition for that title. However, while the Integra Type R was sold new in limited numbers (just 320 units for the U.S. market in 1997), it wasn't envisioned just how much they could be worth in 2018. The past weekend, a certain high point was reached, as a 1,200-mile, Championship White, Acura-badged example was sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction for an eye-watering $63,800 with fees included. That is roughly double what the car cost new, no matter how new-condition it is. Perhaps the $60K+ sale price for the Type R was foreboded by a particular Florida-based car selling for $40,750 in late June, on Bring a Trailer. That car wasn't even in as-new condition, as it had already accumulated almost 60,000 miles. While these prices might reflect in the values of other used Integra Type R cars and even the more regular-issue, 170-horsepower Integra GS-R models, it might turn out be a blessing for the existing examples not ravaged by road salt or modding in usual Honda fashion, or stolen and parted out: As the values for Type R's keep climbing, it provides even more of an incentive for Type R owners to keep their cars in good or excellent shape. We're just hoping for a sweet spot there, so that the Integras won't all be mollycoddled and cocooned for fear of depreciation — these cars need to be used, out on the road with the VTEC singing, nearing 8,500 rpm. That's what they were designed for.
Honda recalls nearly 10,000 new Civic models over pinched tires
Mon, 31 Mar 2014Honda is recalling some 9,816 Civic LX coupes and sedans from the 2014 model year due to a potential tire problem.
According to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notice, the safety problem stems from an installation problem at a supplier, which may have caused the tire bead to become pinched between the steel wheel and the mounting equipment. As a result, tire beads may have been damaged, which could result in a loss of pressure, a condition that could lead to an increased accident risk, or at least an increased risk of being stranded and late for work.
Honda spokesperson Chris Martin tells Autoblog, "Only about 1,800 of that 9,800 have been sold because we caught it so quickly. The majority of them were in transit or unsold at dealers."
