Honda HR-V gets early reveal
Mon, 17 Nov 2014If the Honda HR-V feels awfully familiar to you by now, you're not alone. We've seen it debut in Japanese form (dubbed "Vezel"), caught a prototype in Paris, and Honda first showed us the US-spec version in press-photo form all the way back at the New York Auto Show in April. We're finally going to get all the details on Honda's new subcompact crossover this week as part of the Los Angeles Auto Show, but first, we're getting an early look at the CUV today.
We met the Honda HR-V for a cup of coffee this morning at Randy's Donuts just outside of Los Angeles, and got our first look at the new CUV in the metal. It's a handsome little thing, offering a higher-riding, more butch alternative to the Fit hatchback on which it's based. We particularly like how the rear door handles are integrated into the pillars, for an almost three-door look from some angles.
Technical details are still scarce as of this writing, though we expect those to be revealed during Honda's press conference on Wednesday. For now, we just know that the HR-V should be an incredibly practical little thing, using the Magic Seat system that has made the Fit such a versatile and capacious subcompact. Stay tuned for more, and see the HR-V from all angles in our live gallery, above.
IndyCars parade across Golden Gate Bridge for Justin Wilson [w/video]
Fri, Aug 28 2015Seeing IndyCars driving on public roads is a rare treat, especially on an iconic landmark like the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately, the exciting sight came on a very somber occasion. On August 27, a parade of five racecars sped across the famous span in large part to memorialize fellow driver Justin Wilson. In an incredibly touching scene, teammate Marco Andretti led the pack, and he was behind the wheel of Wilson's number 25 Andretti Autosport Honda. "It was an honor to drive Justin's car. It was emotional for sure," Andretti said to the IndyCar Series. Behind him were Graham Rahal, Will Power, and Josef Newgarden. James Hinchcliffe was in a two-seater IndyCar to deliver the Aston Cup to the season finale at Sonoma Raceway. Two safety vehicles were also part of the procession, and they were flying Justin Wilson flags. Wilson passed away earlier this week after being struck in the head by a carbon-fiber nosecone from a crash ahead of him during the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway. Since then there has been an outpouring of support from the motorsport world for the 37-year-old racer's family. You can watch a clip of the driver's crossing the Bridge, below. Minnesota tinkerer selling off 500-plus motorcycles, dirt bikes and scooters
Tue, Sep 17 2019For 25 years, Tony Joslyn's entire life has orbited around motorcycles. After getting into bikes at an early age, Joslyn turned his passion into Road Rash, a salvage house where Joslyn would buy and sell two-wheelers and their parts. He wasn't picky with his workings, either, as he has accrued motorcycles across a huge range of decades and brands. And now it's all up for sale. Suzukis, Yamahas, Harley-Davidsons, Hondas, Kawasakis, and more from the '60s, '70s, '60s, '90s, and '00s are all currently listed on K-Bid.com. There is a variety of size, styles, colors and setups, and a press release says most of the bikes are 'complete and ready for restoration or a tuneup." For Joslyn, the collection just became too much to deal with after all these years. "It's time to clear the herd and slow down," Joslyn said in a release. "Once it starts to feel like a job, you lose some of the joy. I'm looking forward to getting back to working a few motorcycles now and then. ... It's hard to pick a favorite out of the collection, as I am partial to all of them, but I've always enjoyed the Kawasaki 3-cylinders." The bikes are located in Clarks Grove, Minnesota, directly south of Minneapolis roughly near the Iowa border. Interested parties can visit and inspect the bikes before purchasing, and there's plenty of time to do so. Open now, the auction will close October 2, 2019. This content is hosted by a third party.
