Hi, my name is Joe from National Truck Brokers Inc in Rochester NY. We have this very nice and rare 2005 Honda Civic GX up for auction. Only about 1000 made per year. This is a factory built CNG vehicle not a conversion. It was bought new and maintained by the State of NY. No accidents, one owner original title. It only has 108,108 miles on it, low in Honda Terms. I have driven this GX over 500 miles myself and it is in good running condition and the engine and transmission run smooth . The A/C is cold, all the power options work and the tires are like new. The interior is in great shape. The exterior has some scratches as you can see in the pictures. Being a state vehicle it had a magnetic light on the roof which left some scratches, also has some scratches on the drivers door above the window and light scratches on the hood and on the bumpers, nothing major, but there are more Scratches than normal ,that being said,The body has a good shine and just standing back looking at the car it looks GREAT. The car is in overall very good condition with a lot of life left. The cng tank has a 2020 expiration. You will save thousands in fuel cost if you have access to low priced CNG. Check your state for tax incentives. The Gx has a 8 gge CNG tank and a range of 200-250 depending on driving condition and it gets about 33mpg. There will be a $199 documentation fee added to the winning bid and if your a NYS resident we have to collect the sales tax. Out of state buyers will be responsible for there tax at home. The buyer is responsible for shipping or pickup. There is no warranty left on the car and it is sold as is. We can get an In-Transit permit from the DMV , if you need one to drive it home, for the winning bidder with proper ID and a insurance Certificate. We are located near the Rochester Airport and the train and bus stations and are glad to pick you up. If you have any questions or want to come and see or test drive the car you can email or call me , Joe at 585-943-1132. This car will be sold to the highest bidder. NO-RESERVE SO BID IF YOU CAN USE IT!!

Honda slowing US production due to ports dispute
Thu, Feb 19 2015The labor dispute that idled 29 ports on the West Coast last the weekend, including Los Angeles and Long Beach, CA, is about to make its effects felt on the showroom floor, according to Reuters. Honda, Toyota and Subaru have been trying to work around the labor disagreement, cutting overtime and airlifting parts to factories, but Honda says parts shortages at plants in Indiana, Ohio and Ontario, Canada, are now severe enough to impede production. The lack of transmissions and some electronic components will slow output of the Honda Accord, Civic, and CR-V – as well as unnamed Acuras. The three affected factories will rework their production schedules from Feb. 16-23. The ports have reopened this week, and US Labor Secretary Tom Perez has flown to San Francisco to mediate a new agreement between the 20,000 dockworkers represented by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association, which represents the terminals and shipping companies. Talks have been going on for almost nine months and the issues aren't settled; meanwhile, the West Coast ports that handle half the nation's maritime cargo and 70 percent of cargo from Asia are putting all kinds of industries on the ropes, and it's estimated to cost the economy $2 billion a day. Average new-car fuel economy figures continue record pace
Sat, 13 Jul 2013Manufacturers are making more efficient cars and trucks; we've known that to be true for some time. Nearly every new car has some sort of trick to eke a few extra miles out of every gallon of fuel. Whether that be turbocharging, active aerodynamics or hybrid technology/electrified powertrains, the fact is that our vehicles are more efficient than ever before.
Thanks to a recent study by TrueCar, we've got fresh quantitative data to support the above statements. For the fourth month in a row, we've seen an improvement in national fleet fuel economy. We Americans are 0.7 miles per gallon more efficient than we were last month, and our cars are 1.6-mpg better than at this time last year. That said, we're still down on 2013's high, which was set back in January at 24.5 mpg.
Not only does this reflect the improved technologies in our vehicles, but it demonstrates a changing mindset among consumers, who are purchasing more efficient vehicles despite the relative stabilization of fuel prices. Every fuel-efficient model sold drives its manufacturers fleet average up.
Honda returning to F1 as McLaren partner
Thu, 16 May 2013Honda must really love Formula One racing, as evidenced by today's announcement that the Japanese automaker is returning to the world's most popular motorsport for the fifth time in its history. Honda has entered into a team partnership with McLaren to develop and manufacture power systems - the engine and energy recovery system - for the 2015 F1 season. McLaren will be in charge of chassis development and running the day-to-day operations of this newly formed team, which will be called McLaren Honda.
Honda says its decision to reenter F1 racing had to do with new regulations for the 2014 season that require cars to be powered by a 1.6-liter direct-injection turbocharged V6 engine paired with an energy recovery system. Apparently the chance to develop this particular powertrain for F1 racing was too enticing for Honda to pass up, which suggests it has bigger plans for the knowledge learned while developing these systems beyond just winning races.
As mentioned, this is Honda's fifth foray into F1 racing, the first being back in 1964 when it participated as its own team through 1968. Its longest stint came from 1983-1992 as an engine supplier, during which time it partnered with many teams, including McLaren, and won six Constructor Championships. Honda then returned from 2000-2005 as an engine supplier for British American Racing (BAR) before buying that team outright and running it as Honda Racing from 2006-2008. Then the global economic crisis hit. Honda's return to the sport will surely be welcomed by fans as its partnership with McLaren should produce a formidable team. It's a strong signal that the company has returned to health after a few tumultuous years, and hopefully its rediscovered motorsports mojo will help yield more passionately engineered street cars.
