I am listing this car for a friend. This 1995 Honda Civic was purchased brand new by his wife in 1995 when she graduated college and got her first teaching job. She has owned this same car for just about 20 years. It has been her daily transportation for the majority of those years. The mileage has remained low for several reasons. For starters she lives relatively close to her teaching job and secondly we all know that teachers only go to work 9 months out of the year because of summer vacations. These 2 factors have kept the mileage of this car well below industry standards. I've taken a youtube video of the car for you to see how nice it really is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29UU9eXkHzY&feature=youtu.be

This car is in excellent condition for being 20 years old. It is a 1995 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe. It has a 1.6 4 cyl fuel injected motor with only 136,000 miles. The automotive industry says that the average driver puts between 12,000-15,000 miles per year on their vehicle. By those standards this car should have well over 200,000 miles but it's not even close. The motor is the 1.6 liter Honda V-Tec. It runs like a top. The car had it's timing belt replaced at 101,400 miles. It currently has 136,000 miles so their is plenty of life left in the timing belt. It's a Honda 4 cyl and this motor probably has an easy 100,000 more miles in it. The trans is a smooth shifting 5 speed manual. The clutch grabs nicely and the car shifts smoothly through all the gears. The combination of 4 cyl and 5 speed transmission is ideal for fuel mileage. The car is all original and unmolested. I've driven this car and it runs strong and hanldes nice and tight. It is a perfect first car or perfect for someone wanting a grear communter car which will be outstanding on gas.

This Civic has a lot of nice options that ALL still work. It has power steering, power brakes, cruise, tilt, power windows and locks, nice cold A/C, and a power sunroof that works flawlessly. The interior is in excellent condition. It has cloth bucket seats along with a cloth fold down rear seat. The headliner has no sags, the door panels and dash are all still in fantastic condition for a 20 year old car.

The body of the car shows some of it's age. It's all original and still wears the original paint from 1995. A lot of the clear coating is peeling from the hood and front fender area. Again, this is original 20 year old paint and won't look brand new. There are a few minor rust spots on the body but nothing that fails a state inspection or looks overly bad. Again, this is a 20 year old car.

When my friend and his wife made the decision purchase a new car and sell the Civic, I suggested that they have the car safety inspected for Pennsylvania. The car has just been PA state safety inspected. It received 4 new tires and they also replaced the battery because the former battery seemd to lose some of it's juice.

You can't ask for anything better in a car like this. It's a Honda which we all know is just super reliable and will continue to run for years to come. It has just passed a rigorous state safety inspection which required 4 new tires. The timing belt which is good for 105,000 mile intervals was replaced 35,000 miles ago. Also it's a one owner female owned car.

This car needs nothing. Get it, turn the key, and drive. It has been well maintained, and runs like a top. The 4 cyl Civic will just run and run and I'm certain that it has many years of trouble free driving ahead of it. As I said this car is owned by a friend who is not set up to sell on eBay. I have listed it for him. Please direct and questions to me through eBay and I will either forward you his email address or reply for him.

Honda giving away free Civics in Forza Horizon to celebrate launch

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Just a friendly reminder from Honda: The Honda Challenge Pack DLC is now available for Forza Horizon. To reward you for the trouble of pressing a few buttons on your Xbox controller, you'll get the 2013 Honda Civic Coupe, an HPD Rally Fit and a 1986 Honda Civic Si Coupe in your garage, and you'll get them free. The event of the new DLC has also kicked off a photo contest that will reward someone with an Xbox 360 console wrapped in a Honda Civic Si theme.
Otherwise, the word "Challenge" keeps coming up because of the chance to run an online race against IndyCar driver Scott Dixon. The track for that digital throwdown has already been decided by Xbox players who voted before January 8. Yet it's not too late to hop into the Honda section in Xbox Live and lay down a time fast enough for a shot at the title "The Driver That Shellacked Scott Dixon," and meeting the man in person.
Check out the press release from Honda below, and the sweetness that is the 1986 Civic Si in the gallery above.

Honda recalling 183k cars and crossovers over unintended braking issue

Thu, 14 Mar 2013

A recall has been issued for nearly 183,000 Honda and Acura brand vehicles from the 2005 and 2006 model years. The problem stems from a potential malfunctions to the vehicles' stability control and braking systems.
Drivers have reported a malfunction to Honda's Vehicle Stability Assist system, though to date, no crashes or injuries have been reported as a result of it. Some of the vehicles' Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) control units may have an electric capacitor that was damaged during manufacture. A damaged control unit could cause the VSA system to apply brake force for a "fraction of a second" without any driver input, or could add additional brake force if it malfunctions while the driver is already braking. Either example could increase the risk of a crash.
To fix the issue, Honda will install a new electrical sub-harness, free of charge to the owner. The recall specifies 101,000 Honda Pilot (pictured), 60,000 Acura MDX and 21,000 Acura RL vehicles from the 2005 model year will be affected. An additional 800 MDX crossovers from the 2006 model year are also included in the recall. In addition, 51,000 of the affected 2005 Pilots will be inspected to be sure that a ground bolt for the VSA system is properly tight. Should this bolt come lose, similar unexpected brake activation may occur.

Honda Vision XS-1 Concept looks like a sportier Vezel [w/video]

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

We've talked a lot about the Honda Vezel over the past few months, as the Autoblog staff is looking forward to the Fit-based CUV. It's a handsome little vehicle, that we think will do quite well when it finally arrives in the US market. That said, it's not a particularly exciting vehicle to look at.
Along with the appearance of the Mugen-tuned Vezel at the Tokyo Auto Salon, though, a new concept that's being shown by Honda today at India's Delhi Auto Expo has us hopeful for a Vezel that looks a bit more assertive. It's called the Vision XS-1 Concept, and it's a seven-passenger (yes, seven) crossover that features minivan-style sliding doors. It sports Honda's "Exciting H Design," which is the same design philosophy used by the stylists that penned the new Fit. Unfortunately, at the moment, Honda has provided exactly zero details about what powers its new concept.
As a concept for the Indian market, which is home to some of the tightest, most congested roads on the planet, the stylish XS-1 is meant to demonstrate that Honda knows a thing or six about building compact vehicles. In that regard, we think it's a spot-on piece of work. Let us know what you think of it in Comments, but first, have a look up top for a gallery of images and then scroll down for a brief video and the official press release from Honda.
