This CRX HF weighing in at a svelte 1,713 pounds is bone stock and has the distinction of Honda's early fuel miser - - originally rated at 52-55 MPG highway. Mine was recently tested at 48 MPG while being driven on a two lane highway maintaining a speed of 60-65 MPH. Besides being a great commuter car its future may also be at the drag strip with a later model V-tec motor because it is the lightest CRX built which translates into low ETs. This was accomplished by using plastic front fenders, aluminum air filter housing and rear brake drums, smaller axles, carbon valve cover and other misc. pieces.
All of the gauges operate correctly* including the clock and heater controls. The A/C works but I would not advertise it as "ice cold" as some do. The rear defogger grid is not working because of broken wires in the joint at the rear hatch hinge area. The up-shift* indicator has a mind of its own since it will randomly signal for an up-shift when in 5th gear !
All the tires are in good condition - the two new ones are also included in this auction (these were bought recently for future inventory).
The AM-FM-Cassette radio has been up-dated with a newer model using a harness adapter with no cut wires during installation. It has 2 front & 2 rear speakers and the right front will distort if bass signal is boosted.
One of the photos will show a close-up picture of a recent rust area at the base of the passenger side pillar. The rest of the photos are self explanatory - be sure to notice the large amount of spares that go with this car including the original CRX brochure that appears as new.
The following items have been replaced;

- Rear Brake pads 232K
- Ignition switch (harness connector) 220K
- O-2 Sensor (5 wire), front ball joints 192K

- Front Struts in last 4 years - no mileage recorded

Honda is first Japanese carmaker to be a net-exporter from US
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Over the last decade or so, many foreign automakers have challenged the idea of what defines an "American car," but Honda took things a step further last year by exporting more cars out of the US than it imported in. Reuters is reporting that in 2013, a total of 108,705 Honda and Acura models were exported from the US with only 88,357 being shipped in. This gives Honda a net exporter status here, and makes it the first of such among the major Japanese automakers.
Honda's US imports have been dropping over the last five years while its exports have been steadily increasing. In 2008, the report indicates that Honda shipped 187,000 vehicles to the US and exported only 20,000, and even by 2012 Honda still favored imports with 136,000 imports and 74,000 exports. The article says that US-made Honda and Acura vehicles were exported to 50 countries with most ending up in Mexico, but the big news is that the Honda's US production set a record in 2013 with 1.3 million units built.
McLaren and Honda rekindle a winning combination
Fri, Nov 28 2014With the 2014 Formula One World Championship now drawn to a close, all eyes are fixed on next season. And for both McLaren and Honda, that means the dawn of a new era – or hopefully, the return to one bygone. After twenty years running Mercedes engines, McLaren is switching back to Honda next season, rekindling the most successful partnership the once-dominant team has ever had. Immediately after swapping to Honda power in 1988 – and with Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost behind the wheel – McLaren entered its winningest era, racking up four consecutive world championships. In the two decades it's spent under Mercedes power since, it won three drivers' titles and one constructors', leaving the relatively brief Honda era as its most successful. It was also the most successful for Honda, which had enjoyed success with Williams and some with Lotus, but far more with McLaren – the likes of which it was never able to recreate. The Japanese automaker that was the first to break into the Euro-centric series left grand prix racing when it left McLaren, and despite returning to fund its own team for the better part of a decade, claimed but one checkered flag before calling it quits again. Whether the new collaboration will return both outfits to the winner's circle remains to be seen, but we're looking forward to finding out. In the meantime, after releasing a couple of images from the video shoot last week, McLaren has put out this minute-and-a-half video clip showing the MP4-29H running a few laps around Silverstone, marking the official start of what could be the second reign of the McLaren-Honda dynasty. Honda CB350 and cafe racer culture explored by Electric Federal
Sun, 20 Oct 2013The latest video from Electric Federal covers one of our favorite aspects of motorcycle culture - café racers. In an interview with Adam "Gasser" Gaspic, the owner of Gasser Customs, EF takes a look at the culture and one of Gasser's latest offerings, a hopped-up Honda CB350, called the Silver Bullet.
Gasser has gone all-out on the Silver Bullet, replacing some of the body parts with fiberglass and delivering more than a few upgrades to the rebuilt engine. The brakes and suspension of the smaller bike also get some attention, as do some of the bike's aesthetics. Besides the upgrades, there's just something to be said for the sleek, minimalist nature of the little Honda.
Naturally, the videography is gorgeous, and it's a great look at a kind of motorcycling that seems to be overlooked in the world of sport bikes and Harley-Davidson-style cruisers. Take a look below for the full video.
