Although not a luxury SUV, the 2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4WD is acceptably high-end for the affordable compact SUV segment. The four-wheel drive system engages automatically, accompanied by a mechanical center differential, traction and stability control, 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, Hill Descent Control, and 17-inch wheels with all-season tires. The all-wheel-drive system kicks in during slippery driving conditions and cannot be used for off-roading. Along with the dual front-side and side curtain airbags, halogen headlamps, daytime running lights, and standard tire monitor, the safety features on the 2008 CR-V EX-L 4WD help it earn five stars in crash tests.
Options for the 2008 CR-V EX-L 4WD include a voice-activated navigation system. Other available features include organizers, a cover, and a net for cargo, a roof rack, side steps and running boards, a rear spoiler, fog-lights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. A tow hitch is also optional. The EX-L remains popular for its handling, features, and comfort, but drivers express some disappointment with its 20/26 fuel economy estimates and a slightly underpowered engine.

Honda slaps Legend name on JDM Acura RLX
Mon, 10 Nov 2014It's been eighteen years since we last saw the Legend nameplate in Acura showrooms here in the US, but in Japan it's still very much alive as Honda's flagship sedan. And now the Japanese automaker has revealed the latest generation.
Set to go on sale across Japan on January 22 - 30 years since the nameplate was introduced - the new Honda Legend is essentially the same model we already know in the States as the new Acura RLX. Only by "essentially," we mean exactly. It is the RLX, only with Honda badges instead of Acura ones. The manufacturer hasn't even changed the grille or the wheels.
Although the RLX is being offered Stateside in two forms, the new JDM Honda Legend will only come in one form, equivalent to our Sport Hybrid, with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and a hybrid powertrain pairing a 3.5-liter V6 to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission with integrated electric motor. For the privilege of owning the most luxurious car Honda makes, Japanese customers will have to pony up ¥6,800,000 - which about adds up to $59,950 we'd pay for an RLX Sport Hybrid.

Andretti Autosport switches to Honda power
Tue, 22 Oct 2013The IndyCar grid was split pretty evenly this season between Honda and Chevy power. Thing is, most of the front-running teams have been running Chevrolet engines. Except for Chip Ganassi Racing, the team that fields the likes of Ryan Briscoe, Scott Fixon and Dario Franchitti - but earlier this month Chip Ganassi announced it was switching to Chevy engines too, just like most of the other pack-leading teams.
Honda insisted it didn't need a flagship team to replace Ganassi, but that's exactly what it announced this weekend with the signing of Andetti Autosport. The team run by Michael Andretti won a few IndyCar Series titles under Honda power (in 2004, 2005 and 2007), and two Indy 500 wins (in 2005 and 2007), but switched to the Bowtie two seasons ago, winning the championship last season. But the vast majority of the team's victories - 39 out of 48 race wins - have been powered by Honda, and the two outfits undoubtedly hope they'll return to the winner's circle again with their new multi-year partnership that takes effect next season.
