One owner (me!).  I bought it brand new.
Title in Hand  (no loans or banks to mess with - I only need to sign the title over).
Major maintenance at the dealer.
This has been an extremely reliable vehicle that has given great service.  I am selling because my father in law "gave" me his bass boat when they downsized after retirement and the CRV can't tow it.  Otherwise I'd keep it.

General Condition
- non-smoker
- no pets
- always garaged
- uses no fluids ( I never had to put oil in it between changes)
- adult driven, neither of us is overweight so while the driver seat is "used" it is not completely worn out.  Most usage was with the driver only.  We used the minivan for the family.
- This was a daily driver for me and my wife.  It has the expected rock chips and scratches.  I occasionally put stuff in the back and the plastic in the cargo hold has minor scuffs and scratches.  Drive door panel has scuff marks from getting in and out.

Mechanical
- Dealer told me there is no timing belt interval, otherwise I'd have had it done.  Neither uses nor leaks engine coolant, oil, etc.
- the car has been maintained - the "check engine light" is not on.
- I have receipts from the local Honda dealer for the following major work done in the last 2 years:
- July 2012:  sign/light switch replaced, driver door lock actuator and lock replace after it gave me some trouble - no problems since
- Nov 2011:  replaced Mass Airflow Sensor, valve timing oil pressure switch, engine drive belt, spark plugs, front brake pads, rear brake pads.  One day going to work, it didn't run or shift properly.  I drove it to the dealer and no problems after the repairs.
- Sep 2007:  brake fluid replaced, differential fluid replaced, trans fluid replaced
- Jan 2007:  windshield replaced (no cracks)
- I believe it to be caught up on manufacturer recalls.
- everything works- power sunroof, door locks, AC, CD player, cruise control, etc.  I haven't driven the car for several months because I haven't needed it and the registration lapsed.  Everything worked when I parked it (always been garaged).

Vehicle Comes with:
- 2 original master keys with key fob (only 1 was every used) AND the valet key
- owner's manual
- tool kit
- radio security code
- other assorted manuals (window sticker, warranty info - expired, child safety, etc.)
- aftermarket floor mats
- full size spare
- major maintenance receipts
- does NOT have the spare tire cover (I had to cut is off a couple of years ago - the zipper had rusted closed).

Other:
- the right rear tail light is cracked at the bottom and a piece fell off but it works fine.
- the headlights need to be sanded/polished
- some of the rock chips should be touched up - any surface rust is minor
- see pictures for the bigger scratches (by door handles, near fuel filler door, etc.).  I have not had the vehicle detailed.  I don't know if some of these can be buffed out.
- vehicle was in 2 low speed "fender benders".  one was backing into a low concrete wall in a parking garage and the other was sliding sideways on an icy road into a mailbox.  both professionally repaired and no issues.

terms of sale:
- cash or cashier's check only.
- as-is/where is.  Buyer is responsible to confirm my descriptions to their satisfaction before the sale.
- Buyer responsible for pick up, transportation fees, etc.
- I'd like it picked up within 30 days after winning bid if possible (I gotta put the boat where this is sitting!) and there is an airport and train station within 10 miles of my house.  I'll help with picking up the buyer if needed.
- vehicle is not currently registered.  Buyer is responsible for determining how to legally drive it.
- Buyer responsible for shipping fees, sales tax, licensing, etc.

If i needed a 3rd car, I'd keep it.  I've tried to be complete and honest - ebay works when people are upfront.  Please contact me if you have any questions and thanks for looking!!

Mazda3 sales off to rocky start despite massive critical acclaim

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Like just about every other auto publication we've seen, we loved the way the Mazda3 drove when we reviewed it a few months ago, but those glowing reviews apparently aren't helping its sales. The new compact may be falling victim to a sales war between the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, with the newcomer getting squeezed out by those with more established names and bigger marketing budgets.
According to Automotive News, Mazda3 sales have fallen every month since last August, and its sales are down 27 percent in the first two months of 2014. It certainly isn't helping that the entire compact segment is down five percent this year as well.
The biggest problem for the new model seems to be its price compared to rivals. Mazda is not offering the incentives that are on the hood of competitors. With the previous generation, the company offered more than $2,700 on the hood to move them out, but the current model only carries about $1,233 in markdowns, according to AN.

WSJ investigation reveals Takata may have hidden testing failures

Wed, Nov 25 2015

We're not sure how much more Takata can get wrong concerning its airbag fiasco. The Wall Street Journal says it reviewed internal documents submitted during litigation that reveal US engineers had concerns about altered test data for at least a decade, from 2000 to 2010. This comes after Taktata's largest customer, Honda, stopped doing business with the company, publicly calling Takata out for "misrepresented and manipulated test data." On top of that, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hit the Japanese company with an open-ended fine of $70 million. Ford took away its business, as have Toyota and Mazda. The latest recall tall has surpassed 19 million vehicles in the US alone. The in-house memos show US employees complaining among themselves that their Japanese equivalents were burying validation test failures and changing the results of validation tests. Such tests are conducted to show automakers that Takata products met specification, and employees specifically cite Honda as the recipient of those edited or redacted reports. One US engineer wrote that the "prettying up" of data "confounded my engineers," and "has gone beyond all reasonable bounds and now most likely constitutes fraud." The engineer apparently said his team made sure that the products were up to spec by using alternative data. Takata said the issues the Journal article covers don't have anything to do with the exploding airbags, and that in one case the problem with the airbag inflator was resolved, and in another case the problem airbag inflators didn't reach production. Takata admitted to the Journal that there have been past instances of "selective, incomplete or inaccurate data" in customer validation reports and apologized, laying the situation at the feet of employees trying to meet production deadlines.
