I am so sad to be putting this listing up. I actually meant to do it in January, and I knew I was going to sell this car since last November. As you can see I've been dragging my feet, and the car has been in the garage and plugged into the wall since April.

The GOOD:

I am the only owner, and I BABIED this car since the beginning, always synthetic oil, always OEM parts save for K&N air filter and JDM accessories. I wish I could post the other pics of this car's transformation but I don't want to mislead you, my dear interested buyers! In addition to the information above, the car had its oil changed with Mobil 1 Synthetic EVERY 5K miles, and a tire rotation every 5K miles. The tires have about 30k miles on them, and are rated for 70k. I have changed the spark plugs and did all required maintenance so there's nothing for you to do but follow what's in the manual until 200k miles, which is the next tune up. I flushed the tranny fluid and rear diff fluid last July, so you are good for 2 more years. PCV valve has been changed every 25k miles like clockwork. I love this car and there is NOTHING on the market like it in the US.

ALL recalls (including the recent headlight switch) have been performed.

The car was garaged for most of its life, and covered for the times when it wasn't. It "lived" in PA, WA, and FL. Washed every week or two weeks, no corrosion from salt because I didn't let it sit salty. The headlights are not crazed from the sun either. I am including any and all spare parts and leftovers from accessory installs.

The BAD.

Car had ONE accident, I rear ended another vehicle at 25 MPH on May 5, 2008. The airbags did NOT deploy. The damage was fixed by a competent State Farm approved and recommended body shop in Orlando, FL. Then in May of 2009, I left it parked on the street (and not garaged) ONE NIGHT and my neighbor backed into the driver's side door. The paint was not broken, and I opted for a paintless dent repair which although was done, still left behind some damage you can see. I tried to recoup my costs but didn't want to make an enemy of a neighbor. When I took it to the body shop for an estimate the owner said "LEAVE IT I'm not tearing into that immaculate OEM paint that you have cared for so well." Then he offered to buy it from me for his daughter...

The cruise control has "issues." It works for 30-45 minutes depending on outside air temperature; longer in colder climates. The Honda dealer could not determine what was wrong, though it is a problem that plagues Civics, CR-Vs, and Odysseys. Here is a google link to the problem, all of the links describe the same issue:

The tires are Michelin Hydro Edges bought in early 2010, they unfortunately are a little on the loud side (especially on concrete) at 45 mph because they are hard and rated for 75k miles.

Final SAY:

This car is currently garaged in Orlando, FL. It is cleaned and waxed and plugged in so the battery is topped off for you on a trickle charger. So WHY AM I SELLING A PERFECTLY GOOD CAR THAT I LOVE??? I had to move for work back and forth from FL to WA. I decided instead of shipping this car I would buy a used one, which after a while I decided to buy certified used, then new because the prices were so similar. So I bought a new car, a Subaru Outback, 2013, and I can't justify having 3 vehicles for one little ol' me, (have a motorcycle too). This car is only being sold because of excess, not because I have something to hide or I'm desperate to sell.

Good luck bidders, and please care for this car as it will take care of you. I will be sad to see it go, but hope eBay can help me find a good new home.

Buyer arranges shipping if that's how it's going to be, please ask questions and I will post public responses! Please be motivated and interested in picking up this well-maintained and well-cared for vehicle that has had so many good reviews. Just notice how many Gen 2 CR-Vs are out there, way more than Gen 3 or Gen 4 or the current iteration!

2016 Honda Civic First Drive [w/video]

Mon, Oct 19 2015

Before diving deep into the presentation for the 2016 Civic Sedan, Honda reps reminded us that the last generation of the car sold very well, thank you. Launched for the 2012 model year, and conspicuously updated for '13, the ninth-generation of Honda's Everyman Sedan was dinged in the media for its lack of innovative powertrains, a drop in refinement relative to the newest competitors, and generally staying the course instead of blazing a trail. That Civic still sold hundreds of thousands of copies. But at the presser for this new car, the sense of relief in moving forward, and excitement about the future, was palpable. Striking up the band and fawning over a new car is the job of Honda's staff, of course, but after driving the '16 Civic for myself, it was clear why the gushing seemed so genuine. This is a new machine, soup to nuts, built to draw crosshairs on the best compact cars in the world. To do that, Honda prioritized overall refinement, the steering experience, a quiet cabin, and high-speed stability as areas in which the tenth-gen car must excel. Those are new areas; the company accepts that things like excellent fuel economy and safety are elemental parts of any Civic by now. Having driven the current version of most every competitor, I set out to see if Honda could make good on that lofty and diverse set of goals. View 40 Photos Honda prioritized excellence in overall refinement, the steering experience, a quiet cabin, and high-speed stability. The new Civic powertrain lineup gives the model an immediate leg up. For 2016, Honda is bringing two new four-cylinder engines to the game: a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter, and a turbocharged 1.5-liter. I got a small sample of the 2.0L engine – it's generally up to the task of carrying Civic sales in bulk – but I spent most of my day with the more exciting 1.5T. (That's mostly what Honda brought along; the engineers are clearly proud of this motor.) The top three trim levels will include the 174-horsepower, 162-pound-feet turbo engine, connected to a continuously variable transmission. The added power makes sense for the more expensive versions of this car, as the easy acceleration it offers is a real luxury. Most drivers will appreciate that there's less "turbo-y" feeling to this engine than just about any I've ever experienced. Full torque output starts at 1,800 rpm – and sticks there right up to the 5,500-rpm horsepower peak – but there's no drama around the power coming on.

Lewis Hamilton has Vettel in crosshairs at Canadian Grand Prix

Wed, Jun 7 2017

MONTREAL - The Canadian Grand Prix has been a happy hunting ground for Lewis Hamilton, and he will look to bag a sixth career win on the island circuit on Sunday to refuel his hopes of another Formula One drivers title. With 14 races remaining on the calendar, it is far from do-or-die for Hamilton, but the pressure is mounting on the Briton and Mercedes with arch rival Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari threatening to widen the gap at the top of the championship standings. Only Michael Schumacher has won the Canadian Grand Prix more times (seven), and Hamilton intends to close the gap further in Montreal as the race marks its 50th anniversary. Hamilton needs to do so, at the scene of his first ever Formula One victory a decade ago, to reel in Vettel after the German led a Ferrari one-two in Monaco and powered 25 points clear. "Montreal has been a great hunting ground for me in the past, and I plan for it to continue," the triple world champion told reporters. With five wins and five poles from previous visits to Quebec, Hamilton would normally be the favorite, but champions Mercedes are no longer the dominant team. "The Ferrari seems to work everywhere. The next 14 races are going to be very, very difficult," he said after struggling to seventh place in Monaco. "They have had arguably the strongest car all year. They look like our car which just worked everywhere last year." The race will also mark the return of twice world champion Fernando Alonso to the Formula One grid after the Spaniard skipped the Monaco Grand Prix last month to chase IndyCar glory at Indianapolis 500. Alonso turned in an impressive performance at the famed Brickyard, qualifying fifth fastest and running at the front but late in the race suffered a familiar fate with his Honda engine giving up. Little has changed at struggling McLaren during Alonso's brief sabbatical with the team still hampered by an uncompetitive Honda engine. There is plenty of reason to party around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve this week with the city celebrating its 375th anniversary, Canada its 150th birthday and the Canadian Grand Prix its 50th. Williams driver Lance Stroll will be hoping to contribute to the party atmosphere. For the first time since the days of 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve, the Canadian Grand Prix will have some true home interest with teenager Stroll on the starting grid for Williams.

Alonso pins McLaren's woes squarely on Honda's shoulders

Sat, May 13 2017

BARCELONA (Reuters) - Fernando Alonso spent more time on the tennis court than driving his ailing McLaren on Friday, with his tilt at the Indy 500 looking ever more inviting after another dark day on the Formula One racetrack. Alonso's home fans had barely settled in their seats for practice at the Spanish Grand Prix before his car's Honda engine blew in a mess of smoke and oil. Liquid then poured out of the car as it was tipped up by a recovery crane. Having failed to start in Russia two weeks ago due to an engine failure on the formation lap, Alonso departed the Barcelona circuit after a few choice words and later posted a picture on Instagram of himself playing tennis. "The engine was not good enough. We came out of the pitlane and there was a hole in the engine, and the oil was streaming out. It blew up after 400 meters," Alonso told reporters after returning for the second 90-minute practice session. He was last on the timesheets and reported that the engine was even slower. If the tennis photo looked like a dig at Honda, accompanied with the seemingly sarcastic comment "keeping the body active", he said that had not been his intention. "I have very little time in these weeks, with traveling, with planes," said the 35-year-old, who will go straight from Barcelona to Indianapolis on Sunday night to prepare for his debut in the 500 on May 28. "So when I discovered that I had two hours free, instead of being on the sofa and watching television, I went for some training. My dedication is still 100 percent to my fitness and my preparation. "It wasn't humor to go outside the circuit to play tennis, it was preparation. People got it wrong. I went out to have some fun and escape the circuit." McLaren, the second most successful team in Formula One history in terms of race wins, have yet to score a point in four rounds of this year's championship and are last in the standings. Honda's Formula One reputation, after two seasons of unreliability and poor performance, is meanwhile being dragged deeper into the mud. Alonso is out of contract at the end of the season and has said his future whereabouts would depend on who could offer him a winning car. "It's not my reputation, it's theirs (Honda's) – and it's their money, and their image," he said. "I try to drive as fast as I can but it's a much bigger problem for them."
