For Sale: 1999 Honda CRV 4x4. 121,000mi. Standard transmission.
I'm the second owner of this Honda CRV. I bought in Las Vegas, NV where it was garaged and lived it's first 64,000 miles. It was cared for at a Honda Dealership by the original owner and I still have all the records. Since then I have done oil changes every 3500 miles at express lubes. At 110,000 miles I did a full tune up by a certified Honda Dealership. This included new Cbelt, timing belt, water pump, drive belts, valve job. All the fluids were changed including differential, brake fluid, antifreeze, power steering, transmission, oil. Drivers side window replaced and new front brake pads also installed during this service. At 120,000 rear struts and rear trailing arm bushing were replaced. 2 sets of tires. The Cooper CS4 Touring all season radials are only good for 10K at best. New Winterquest Snow tires only have about 500 miles on them. The vehicle looks and runs great. It does have some minor scratches and paint chips, mainly on the front grill area. There are some yellow paint specks on the drivers side wheel well from fresh highway painting incident. The windshild is free of any dings, but it does have a streak from drivers side windshield wiper. Factory jack, rear cargo mat, and rear picnic table. Aftermarket Fog lights, and Honda roof rack, tinted windows and running boards/trim. Factory CD player and radio. Interior is in fine shape. Seats are immaculate. A few stains on the carpet mats but the upholstery is in good shape. The rear spare tire cover is ripped.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Watch this LSR Honda Insight crash at 190 mph in the desert
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Like any form of motorsports, attempts at breaking land speed records are inherently dangerous. To wit: During a recent speed competition at El Mirage dry lake beds in southern California, racer Brian Gillespie and his first-gen Honda Insight crashed at nearly 190 miles per hour, and it was all caught on video.
According to the Southern California Timing Association website, which hosts the event, the weather was good and there was no wind on November 10, so it isn't clear what may have caused the crash. Despite the car being destroyed (including the entire front end being sheared off), Gillespie suffered only "minor injuries" and is recovering. The SCTA site does state that Gillespie managed to crack the 200-mile-per-hour mark in a previous run with a top speed of 200.9 mph, so congratulations to him on that! Scroll down to watch the horrifying crash.
Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with
Mon, 12 May 2014Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.
