Sedan 4-door 3.0l V6, Leather, Sunroof, Heated Seats, Faux Wood Grain Trim on 2040-cars
Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, United States
This is our 2005 Honda Accord EX-L, purchased used, certified, from a Honda Dealer around 7 years ago. It is well used but in great condition. Mechanically it has been maintained to manufacture specifications since purchase and is in great running condition. V6 engine has a considerable amount more pep than the 4cyl model. Gas mileage is also fantastic for an '05.
Initially car was purchased for our family of four. It accommodated our parental needs in terms of comfort and safety and was spacious enough for various kinds of infant carriers, car seats, booster seats for our two young children. Car has since been driven Monday through Friday 20 miles by highway each way to work for the last 5 years. Parked in garage during day. This car makes an exceptional commuter vehicle and would also be great for a student to get around. Economical with just enough creature comforts and extremely safe. Great sunroof, in perfect condition, makes car brighter and feel roomier. Wonderful in the summer. Front seat warmers are a wonder in the winter. Around 3 years ago had trouble with transmission. Whole transmission was replaced by Honda under warranty. No problems since. 2 tires replaced in January '14. Other 2 tires replaced in Jul '14. Has iPhone 30pin connector to stereo Aux (can use 30pin to Lightning adapter for newer phones). Charges phone & plays music through care stereo. Car mount half of ProClip (see picture). Would need other half, device mount, from same mfg (ProClipUSA). Great for mounting iPhone and using GPS on phone. Exterior has scratches. Paint is fading on trunk and front right quarter panel. Please see pictures. Only issues with this car are cosmetic, and they are pretty minor. |

Clarion Builds 1991 Acura NSX Review | Restored to greatness
Fri, Sep 22 2017Few automobiles garner as much mystique as the original Acura NSX. I worshiped this car from afar, consigned to the fact that the closest I was ever going to get to the steering wheel was a Playstation controller. When I got the email inviting me to drive Clarion Builds' restored and tuned 1991 NSX, I thought it was spam, a chain email with some generic header sent to a dozen or so people to garner some press coverage. Surely this wasn't a real invite where I get to drive a real NSX using my real hands and feet. Some people say don't meet your heroes. Some people are wrong. I knew the car by reputation. In roughly 10 months, Clarion Builds, a division of the Japanese electronics company mostly known for high-end audio systems, worked with partners like AEM and AutoWave to transform a '91 NSX with nearly a quarter-million miles on the clock into what you see here. Everything, from the engine to the bodywork to the leather on the seats, has been upgraded and restored with a mix of both OEM and aftermarket parts. The final product is a stunner. It's tuned, but not slammed, stanced or any other adjective that describes a car with compromised performance and questionable looks. It's simply a tastefully tuned NSX. The NSX, especially an early car with pop-up headlights, is one of the all-time great car designs. There are no unnecessary lines or curves. It's all purposeful. As expected with something with 230,000 miles, this NSX had a number of dings and dents. Clarion Builds has fixed those, replacing the hood and spoiler with carbon-fiber parts from an NSX-R. The fenders are slightly wider than stock, helping cover the staggered Rays Engineering VOLK ZE40 wheels, 18-inch up front and 19-inch out back. After seeing it in the flesh with the blue paint, black roof and bronze wheels, I don't think there is a better fit for this car. The original but tired 3.0-liter V6 and five-speed manual have been swapped for a 3.2-liter V6 and six-speed manual from a 2004 NSX. Stock, this engine is a wonderful ode to the internal combustion engine. It sings a sweet song all the way to a sky-high 8,200 rpm redline. Still, it wasn't enough. The engine now wears a Whipple-style supercharger, pushing roughly 9 psi of boost. Other modifications include a one-off carbon-fiber intake, a hand-built exhaust and a new ECU, all from AEM. All in, Clarion Builds says this NSX makes 403 horsepower and 296 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. God, it feels good to push this thing.
Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
Question of the Day: Ever consider driving a minivan?
Thu, May 12 2016Since I'm supposed to know something about cars, it happens all the time: friends and relatives ask me advice about what kind of vehicle they should get. Very often, the only type of vehicle that can check every item on their wish list (e.g., hauls lots of people and stuff, gets good fuel economy, has great crash-test ratings, can take four Great Danes camping, and so on) is a modern minivan... and, of course, nobody wants to hear this. I'm not a minivan person, they will wail, and so they end up with a cramped, fuel-swilling SUV or a not-so-space-efficient minivan-in-disguise CUV. So, is it worth becoming one of those minivan people in order to get the incredible usefulness of these masterpieces of vehicle engineering, or do you hold your head high and drive something that doesn't quite meet your needs?
