For sale is my beautiful Honda Accord with low miles (50,800). I am the original owner of this vehicle, it is in great condition and has been very well taken care of. Every service was performed on time at Honda of Stevens Creek and I have all the records. I kept this my Honda stock and never raced or otherwise abused this car. The only change made was swapping the stock air filter for a performance K&N air filter... by no means a huge change but it was better for the vehicle. I still have the stock filter. I also have a completely new cleaning kit for the K&N filter and will be including a Honda Accord car cover with the vehicle as well.

This car is very had to find in this condition as they didn't make very many manual Accords of this generation. I have loved and driven this vehicle for over 5 years keeping the miles low and have never had a single problem. There are a few very minor dings and nicks from everyday conditions that should be no cause for alarm. I'm hoping this car find a buyer who will love it and take care of it the way I have. This car will run like new for many many years and is an absolute joy to drive. The only reason I'm selling this car is because I recently found myself with a wonderful new dog and would prefer a more dog-friendly, rugged and diverse vehicle.

Please note: the two accidents reported on the autocheck report were both minor. One was from a Home Depot shopping cart that hit the bumper of my vehicle. The bumper was replaced with an original new Honda bumper per my request. The second incident was a break where the passenger window was broken. This was more expensive because they replaced the mechanism for the power windows and both seat belt buckles (in case glass had gotten into either of them). The total damages for both claims (including tax and labor) is less than 3k and both were VERY minor with ZERO frame or engine damage. Again, just a bumper from Home Depot and a broken window from a break in. I have all the documentation for both repairs. For this reason, I consider these incidents nearly irrelevant but have reduced the 'buy it now price' by $500 from KKB's suggest private party price. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Any sale is final and I would prefer to conduct business in person so I'm searching for local buyers but if you live far away and would like to own this car you will be responsible for vehicle transportation fees along with any other associated costs.

'Tornado' at Rose Bowl Fan Fest wreaks havoc on Honda display

Fri, Jan 2 2015

California's been host to some oddball weather for the past few years - particularly oddball, even for California, that is. An example of which struck again during the Honda Fan Fest at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on New Year's Eve. A robust dust devil – labeled a "tornado" by the anonymous videographer – planted itself among the stands and then rolled across the lawn, twirling several vendor stands and an inflatable tent around in the air, seemingly damaging some new Honda and Acura models that were on display where some attendees had sought refuge. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt, but four people were treated for injuries - probably including the committed Fan Fest worker who tried to grab a flying canopy and got spun around and thrown to the ground. Which is kinda the way Oregon treated Florida State. We had to watch it twice, because the first time, we couldn't take our eyes off the cow. Check out the chaos in the video above. Honda Fit loses Recommended rating from Consumer Reports

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Thanks to its poor performance in the most recent round of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash testing, where it received the lowest overall score in the small-overlap test, Consumer Reports has bumped the Honda Fit from its "Recommended" list. When a car gets bumped from the magazine's coveted ranks, it's usually cause for concern. This is not one of those times.
As there is a new Fit barreling towards dealerships for an on-sale date this spring, we wouldn't pay too much credence to the current car's demotion. It's expected that the next-generation Fit should pass the test with flying colors, as CR is quick to point out that newer Hondas have traditionally done very well in the tricky small-overlap crash testing.
Of the subcompact cars tested by the IIHS, only the Kia Rio, which netted a "Marginal" score overall, is a Consumer Reports "Recommended" vehicle.

Former NHTSA chief may lead automaker-backed Takata investigation

Fri, Feb 6 2015

An automaker-led effort may see the former head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration take on the probe into the Takata airbag inflator disaster. A coalition of at least ten automakers is in talks with former NHTSA administrator David Kelly, with unnamed sources familiar with the discussions telling The Wall Street Journal he is "among those we are considering to coordinate" the investigation. The Detroit News, meanwhile, is reporting he could be hired "in the coming days." Takata, the Japanese seatbelt and airbag manufacturer, has been the center of a defect scandal since last year. Takata is under fire for air bag inflators that can explode, shooting out metal and plastic pieces. At least five deaths and dozens of injuries have been linked to the problem worldwide. Earlier this year, Honda Motor Co., the automaker with the biggest exposure to the defective Takata air bags, was fined $70 million in the U.S. for not reporting to regulators some 1,729 complaints that its vehicles caused deaths and injuries, and for not reporting warranty claims. It was the largest civil penalty levied against an automaker. Should he take the role, Kelly would be at the fore of an investigation being assembled by an alliance of ten automakers, which includes the Detroit Three and Honda. Toyota first suggested a joint investigation back in December, The Journal reports. Kelly's goals, meanwhile, will be many. The Detroit News reports that questions abound regarding not only the recalled airbag inflators and the conditions that cause them to fail, but the whether the replacement units will have similar problems in the future. The automaker committee is far from the only one analyzing the airbag issue. Takata has assembled its own panel, led by former Secretary of Transportation Samuel Skinner, while NHTSA's deputy administrator, David Friedman, has brought in an outside engineering firm to investigate the inflators, The Detroit News reports. Separately, on Friday Takata Corp., the Japanese seatbelt and air-bag maker at the center of a defect scandal, is expecting more red ink for the fiscal year through March. It is projecting a 31 billion yen ($264 million) loss, worse than the previous forecast for a 25 billion yen ($214 million) loss, despite higher sales expected for the fiscal year. Ten automakers have recalled about 12 million vehicles in the U.S. and about 19 million globally for problems with the air bags.
