Honda CR-V spied looking curvy and sophisticated
Wed, Apr 20 2016The Honda CR-V is well into its lifecycle, and today we're getting a close look at a prototype that previews the crossover's new styling. The CR-V could be revealed this year ahead of a market launch in 2017, perhaps putting it as a 2018 model. We expect the new generation to increase in size and offer a third row, while drawing power from an updated engine lineup that uses the company's Earth Dreams suite of technologies. A hybrid model is likely, too. The front and rear of this camouflaged prototype have fairly evolutionary changes to Honda's current design, and the vehicle has a stronger, more chiseled appearance than today's CR-V. We can't see the interior, but we expect it to get new safety and tech features in keeping with current trends. Honda updated the CR-V for the 2015 model year, and it's soldiered on as a stalwart of the company's lineup. Still, the vehicle is showing signs of age. In a crossover-friendly marketplace, the CR-V's sales have declined 2.7 percent this year to 71,188 units through March. The CR-V has been around since 1997, and as these shots illustrate, Honda is aggressively trying to keep its long-running nameplate relevant. Honda reveals next-gen Fit Hybrid
Fri, 19 Jul 2013Psst! Remember late last month when we showed you those Japanese magazine scans purporting to show the next Honda Fit? The ones with the markedly more aggressive snout and Cuisinart-blade alloys? Yup, they were the real deal, but they weren't the standard model, they were images of the new Hybrid. We know this because Honda has just released a handful of images and some details on its forthcoming gas-electric hatchback, and the images line up perfectly.
The big story for the third-generation Fit Hybrid will be the fuel economy, naturally. Honda says it has achieved economy ratings of 36.4 kilometers per liter - 86 miles per gallon - on its home-market cycle, highest among all hybrid models in Japan and a 35-percent improvement over the current Fit Hybrid, a model not sold in the US.

2014 Honda Accord V6 Touring
Mon, 03 Mar 2014America's midsize sedan segment is one of the most crowded and fiercely competitive in the business. The Toyota Camry has long been our nation's best seller, while the Honda Accord has dutifully come in second place, like some sort of codependent Cal Naughton Jr. riding Ricky Bobby's back bumper.
There was that one year, 2001, when the Accord briefly broke the Camry's streak, marring what would today have been a 17-year-long run of best-selling car titles. The Accord pulled the opposite move in 2011, letting sales slip far enough to let not only the Toyota by, but the Nissan Altima and Ford Fusion, as well. Aside from those anomalies, the Camry and Accord have been first and second in this segment since before many of you readers could even drive.
It's 2014, and these frenemies have never before faced a threat to their world order as strong as today's class of family sedans. The aforementioned Altima and Fusion are perhaps the most capable challengers, but the Chevrolet Malibu, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Volkswagen Passat and Mazda6 are all capable of convincing new buyers to walk their way.
