The damaged parts were removed and everything was secured in place. No issues since.Check Engine Light is on for a code related to the EGR System. The intake manifold has small passages that get clogged after so many miles. It has not affected drivability at all, and the inspection sticker is good until November 2014 anyway. This weekend I will try to take it apart and clean it up. I am VERY mechanically inclined. This car is a friend of mine's who I am trying to sell it for.Timing Belt and all other belts replaced 75K miles ago and the Cylinder head was completely rebuild do to a failed timing belt... it runs like new now :-)"

NO RESERVE!!!! NO RESERVE!!!! High bidder wins regardless of how little the car sells for!!!!!  I am starting the auction at $250.00 as that is the amount that I can get just for dropping it off at a scrap yard LOL
******HOWEVER... as is customary in traditional Auctions, the BUYER will be responsible for LISTING fees ($0.60 for this listing) and the FINAL VALUE FEE (if car is sold Under $2000, it is $60.00.  If car is sold OVER $2000, it is $125.00)*******  EXAMPLE: If the Car sells for $1000.00, your actual price to pay will be $1060.60.  If the Car sells for $3000.00, your actual price to pay will be $3125.60)... got it? :-)

Vehicle has a Remote Start Feature that enables you to start the vehicle from the remote control so you can warm up or cool down your car depending on the season!
Also has an alarm system.
As for items that have been updated/replaced: Water Pump/Timing Belt/Drive Belt/Starter/Upper Radiator Hose/Thermostat/Entire Electronic Distributor Assembly and Cap/Rotor and Wires/Spark plugs/and many more...

This is, mechanically, a superbly maintained vehicle, with all oil changes done between 3-6K since originally purchased in 1997. It has 273,000 miles on the odometer and has been a daily driver since new. The upper half of the engine was rebuilt about 75,000 miles ago when a timing belt decided to break :-( The work was done and it has been running like new ever since...
Now, there is some cosmetic damage in the front, right-hand side that happened about 30,000 miles ago. Everything still works/drives beautifully, but it doesn't look the best from that angle!!!
Aside from that, it is extremely clean inside and the A/C WORKS GREAT... you need to turn it down many times because it gets too cold inside!
It has an automatic transmission, a 4 cylinder, 16-valve engine, a 6-disc Factory OEM CD Changer in the trunk.
The inspection sticker is good until November 2014.
The only mechanical issue is that the Check Engine Light is on because of the EGR system. Over time, the EGR passages in the upper intake manifold get a little clogged and it triggers this light. I've put up with it for about 60,000 miles so far, and my fuel economy and drivability have not been affected at all :-)
Hey, this is simply a great car for someone looking for decent, very reliable transportation. Tires are decent and will last for many years.

1997 Acura Integra Type R sells for $82,000 on Bring a Trailer

Mon, Sep 30 2019

Acura Integra Type R prices are getting ridiculous. The car is absolutely superb, but the latest one to sell on Bring a Trailer went for a cool $82,000. You could likely pick up two old Acura NSXs in average condition for a similar price as the single Integra Type R. But hey, nobody ever said the value of cars made sense. Why did this particular Type R reach unrivaled heights then? A few factors are obvious. It’s a one-owner, 6,000-mile, completely original 1997 ITR (what the cool kids call the Integra Type R for short). WeÂ’re still rather flabbergasted and slightly upset the original buyer only managed 6,000 miles over the approximately 22 years of ownership, but the new owner could fix that quickly. Then again, this could be a purely speculative buy, aiding heavily in the final gavel price. Wait a few months to a year, and the value of this unmolested Type R could increase another $10,000, or more if you donÂ’t add miles. It was only a year ago to date that we wrote in near-shock about a Type R with even fewer miles (1,200) going for $63,800 at Barrett-Jackson. This car blows that previous record straight out of the water. As of now, thereÂ’s no end in sight to the increasing prices of these now-slightly-old hot Hondas. Another clean Acura Integra Type R is listed on Bring a Trailer right now, and the bid is already up to $34,567 with four days left. That car has 19,000 miles on it, and is reportedly being offered by the carÂ’s second owner, who bought it two years ago. A Honda CRX Si recently went for $33,600 on the same website. The NSXÂ’s value jump hit hard a few years ago, but now its successors are following in its footsteps again. Will there come a day when an Integra Type R hits the six-digit mark? At this rate it doesnÂ’t look far away. If you want a whole lot of what the Type R offers, without the eye-watering markup, take a long, hard look at the Integra GS-R. That trim is a great step up in performance over a base Integra, and a few easy mods gets it close to the Type R from a performance standpoint. You wonÂ’t have the cache and bragging rights that come with the R, but you also wonÂ’t be afraid to put miles on it for fear of entirely ruining the carÂ’s value. Happy Honda hunting.

Honda audit says Takata manipulated airbag inflator data

Wed, Jul 20 2016

Takata is already feeling the pressure of being tied up in the automotive industry's largest recall ever, which affects millions of vehicles worldwide, but an ongoing audit by Honda recently revealed that engineers manipulated airbag inflator test results. According to a report by Reuters, the audit found widespread manipulation of test results, but showed no safety risks for vehicles that were not involved in the recall. The audit, which Honda claims started last October, examined Takata-made airbag inflators and was led by former IIHS president Brian O'Neil. According to Automotive News, O'Neil found that Takata engineers had removed test results to make airbag inflator performance more favorable. In an interview with Automotive News, O'Neil stated that the audit results indicated that engineers selectively edited results to make the reports, which were given to Honda, shorter and prettier from the supplier's standpoint. So far, the automaker has received preliminary information from the first phase of the audit, with Honda and US regulators getting a full report later this week. There's no word on how much Takata will have to pay to fix the faulty airbag inflators, but some automakers have decided to drop the supplier for another source. The New York Times also reports that Takata CEO Shigehisa Takada would be stepping down after the company becomes stable. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
