Selling my 1994 Honda Accord LX 2 door coupe, 5 speed manual.  I am the original and only owner of this car.  Purchased May 1994 at Leesburg Honda, Leesburg, Va.  Clean, very well maintained and mechanically sound.  Interior is in great shape; never been smoked in.  A/C works great.  I average about 25 miles per gallon in mixed city/highway driving.  Aftermarket CD player now "eats" CDs; crutchfield.com is a good source for a replacement and provides installation instructions with your order.  A lot of recent repairs done, including replacement of the fuel pump, power control module, catalytic converter, spark plugs and wires, oil leaks repaired.  A bit of rust around the rear wheel wells and fuel door (normal for Honda Accords of this vintage).  Near full set of documentation (I can't find the receipt for a battery replacement from fall 2012, though).  Car is on second odometer, which shows 138,176 miles (original shows 67,900 and will be provided with the car).  Glove box is unusable; if you open it, it will fall out.  Cruise control does not work.  Power locks do not work 100 percent of the time.  Driver side power window lift, while operational, can be a bit slow at times.  ABS light comes on intermittently.

Bottom line:  If you are looking for a clean, well cared for, mechanically sound and fuel efficient older vehicle, here it is!

Pre-purchase inspection welcome at buyer expense.

Next Honda Ridgeline to eschew weird visuals, go mainstream?

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Last year, Honda gave us the first furtive glance at the next-generation Ridgeline with a shadowy photo of it in profile (above), and it promised that the pickup would "come to market in less than two years." That would have put the truck on track for a 2015 debut, but the automaker hasn't said anything more officially about the new model since then.
A new report from USA Today might shed some new light on the mysterious model. It claims that the next Ridgeline has more conventional pickup styling than the original model in a bid to conquest some buyers. You can get that feeling from the sketch, which appears to showing something far more traditional than the unorthodox original Ridgeline, whose odd tapering bedsides terminated in a double-hinged tailgate.
USA Today goes on to claim that the new Ridgeline will go on sale around late 2015 or early 2016. That's a bit later than expected, but fits with an earlier rumor.

Honda will build 2014 Accord Hybrid in Ohio

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

Honda has announced that it will invest $23 million in its Marysville, Ohio facility to support production of the upcoming 2014 Accord Hybrid sedan. According to the manufacturer, this means approximately 50 new jobs will be created, and the whole investment will result in a 95,000-square-foot expansion of the Marysville plant.
The Accord Hybrid joins the decidedly homely Accord PHEV (pictured) this fall, using a 2.0-liter i-VTEC Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine mated to a 124-kilowatt electric motor. Honda has yet to release official power or fuel economy figures for the non-plug-in hybrid version of the Accord.
Honda currently operates four manufacturing facilities in Ohio, with the combined capacity to build up to 700,000 cars and light trucks each year. The Japanese automaker also has a facility in Greensburg, Indiana, where the Civic Hybrid and Acura ILX Hybrid are built.

Bisimoto 2014 Honda Odyssey packs 1,029 hp plus the kids

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

You know, the last time I drove a Honda Odyssey, I thought, "Man, this thing could really use another 781 horsepower." Thank goodness for the folks at Bisimoto, then, who have brought this "Power-Van" to the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It's your standard seven-passenger Honda Odyssey with massive powertrain tuning to deliver a full 1,029 horsepower. Honda has not listed the torque output, but we imagine it's roughly eleventy billion foot-pounds.
That crazy power bump has been achieved through the use of - *deep breath* - an Infinity ECU, Arias pistons, ARP headstuds and bolts, Bisimoto's own 360-degree oil cap, a cat-back exhaust system, stainless mufflers, an improved fuel pump, new spark plugs, custom headwork, R&R custom steel rods, Turbonetics BTZ7265 twin turbochargers, a wastegate, blowoff valve, VP racing fuels and a whole lot more. Honda says the only chassis/suspension modifications come in the way of Fifteen52 wheels, 225/30-series Toyo T1 Sport tires and Young Guns performance exhaust coatings. So as far as we can tell, this thing still uses a front-wheel-drive setup. I bet it'll do somersaults.
Of course, this is SEMA, where we assume there's a four-modification minimum for any car that enters the Las Vegas Convention Center, so the Odyssey has been given added visual flair, as well. Outside, that means there's a Denmatic design theme, a whole mess of Honda accessories (check out that roof tub) and some new paint. Inside, upgraded upholstery has been fitted, as have Recaro seats.
