1 Family Owned 1993 Honda Accord Lx Sedan 4-door 2.2l Runs Strong - 124k Miles on 2040-cars
Omaha, Nebraska, United States
Our 1993 Honda Accord LX is ready for its next owner.
Most recently driven by my daughter, this 4-door Honda Accord was her grandmother's daily driver until it was gifted to us 6 years ago. In that time my daughter drove it back and forth to high school and in the summers when she was back from college. My point in sharing that with you? Simply that this car has been gently driven for many years. In the time that I've been responsible for the car's care, I've done my best to keep it as pristine as my parents did. I have the records to show you and off the top of my head I've replaced the muffler, the tires, the master brake cylinder, the clutch master/slave cylinders, had a major tune up, valve cover gasket replacement, radiator work and more. It's a great little 20 year old car. No wrecks, no major issues, original engine. I took the car to my mechanic and he found some things you'll want to consider fixing: - replace timing belt - rust spots on rear wheel wells - cv arms w joints - radiator hoses - struts - a/c needs a boost - coolant has a slow leak that puddles if not driven for a month - rear passenger pop-up door lock broken (door still locks from lock/unlock button) Beyond that, it's ready to roll. It's a HONDA! Local drivers can test drive and we'll work with any shipping arrangements. $500 down payment due within 48 hours. Title and car to be transferred on full payment by cashiers check or money order. I'm listing the car locally and reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells. Good luck! |

Honda recalling 183k cars and crossovers over unintended braking issue
Thu, 14 Mar 2013A recall has been issued for nearly 183,000 Honda and Acura brand vehicles from the 2005 and 2006 model years. The problem stems from a potential malfunctions to the vehicles' stability control and braking systems.
Drivers have reported a malfunction to Honda's Vehicle Stability Assist system, though to date, no crashes or injuries have been reported as a result of it. Some of the vehicles' Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) control units may have an electric capacitor that was damaged during manufacture. A damaged control unit could cause the VSA system to apply brake force for a "fraction of a second" without any driver input, or could add additional brake force if it malfunctions while the driver is already braking. Either example could increase the risk of a crash.
To fix the issue, Honda will install a new electrical sub-harness, free of charge to the owner. The recall specifies 101,000 Honda Pilot (pictured), 60,000 Acura MDX and 21,000 Acura RL vehicles from the 2005 model year will be affected. An additional 800 MDX crossovers from the 2006 model year are also included in the recall. In addition, 51,000 of the affected 2005 Pilots will be inspected to be sure that a ground bolt for the VSA system is properly tight. Should this bolt come lose, similar unexpected brake activation may occur.
Honda settles class-action lawsuit over oil-burning V6s
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Although we hadn't heard of this issue before, Automotive News reports that Honda has agreed to settle a massive class-action lawsuit brought against it for engine trouble potentially affecting nearly 1.6 million vehicles. The lawsuit includes Accord (2008-12), Odyssey (2008-13), Pilot (2009-13) and Crosstour (2010-13) models equipped with the 3.5-liter V6 with Variable Cylinder Management, which might experience engine misfire, excessive oil burning and premature spark plug fouling issues.
As part of the settlement, Honda will extend the powertrain warranty on these models for eight years (from time of purchase or lease) with no mileage limitation, and it will also reimburse customers who had to pay out-of-pocket expenses for related repairs such as spark plugs, pistons or, in some cases, apparently, an entirely new engine. (Of course, the repairs had to be related to certain trouble codes.) Lawyers will get no more than $800,000 from Honda and the guy who originally started the case, Vince Eagen, will get $1,000 for his "time and effort."
The final ruling on the matter will take place on March 21, 2014, and if you want to see if you're affected and what options you have in the settlement, check out this .pdf document with all the details.
Next Honda Ridgeline to eschew weird visuals, go mainstream?
Wed, 08 Oct 2014Last year, Honda gave us the first furtive glance at the next-generation Ridgeline with a shadowy photo of it in profile (above), and it promised that the pickup would "come to market in less than two years." That would have put the truck on track for a 2015 debut, but the automaker hasn't said anything more officially about the new model since then.
A new report from USA Today might shed some new light on the mysterious model. It claims that the next Ridgeline has more conventional pickup styling than the original model in a bid to conquest some buyers. You can get that feeling from the sketch, which appears to showing something far more traditional than the unorthodox original Ridgeline, whose odd tapering bedsides terminated in a double-hinged tailgate.
USA Today goes on to claim that the new Ridgeline will go on sale around late 2015 or early 2016. That's a bit later than expected, but fits with an earlier rumor.
