This is a super cool Mild Custom 72 Suburban... Original California Car is clean and restored. This classic was built to be a reliable daily driver. I bought this with a grand plan in mind but thats on hold and this big guy is taking a spot in the garage where I can fit 2 cars... its got to go. It sits exactly as I bought it from a guy who took it as payment on a debt so he did not know full history. I'll tell you what I was told and what I can see...   Was a daily driver. Small block Chevy V8... he said 327... I'll get the number off the block.  Turbo 350 3 speed automatic and 12 bolt rear... posi I think :) This classic rod is in great driver condition all around. Had a budget restoration including Body, Interior, Motor, Trans, and Suspension... looks good with plenty more potential. Excellent runner/driver. Cool vintage hot rod would be awesome weekend cruiser, daily driver, tow vehicle, or addition to any collection...

The body is straight with some minor bumps and blemishes... no signs of collision damage or significant rust that I can see... has just a bit of minor rust at the seam of the drivers footwell... easily addressed in a day. Undercarriage and frame looks super clean and solid.  White over Metallic Gray paint presents well with some imperfections and blemishes... color sand and buff would do wonders. It has a cool stance and period correct hot rod look and maintains a really comfortable ride. Get's looks and compliments everywhere we roll...

The interior is good. Redone Seats, Newer Carpet is decent...redone door panels. Dash redone and have a new gauge surround not installed. A/C car with everything in place except compressor. Nice modern sound system sounds great. Also have a full set of door and trim rubbers not installed. Minor detailing and finishing would make it excellent.

V8 motor appears stock except for headers and custom dual exhaust... sounds cool. Starts idles and runs fantastic... Great power!. Legendary Turbo 350 3 speed auto shifts smooth and strong through the gears...
Heavy duty 12 bolt rear end. Gear ratios are great around town and cruises nice on the freeway as well. Has front (power) disk brakes and power steering. Suspension and brakes feel great... Rides nice and stops straight and sure. Can easily be a daily driver and it drives very well... strong and reliable. Really Nice, powerful, Fun driver.... ready to roll.

Overall this is a cool American Classic Suburban Muscle Car in great condition all around. Awesome weekend cruiser, daily driver, or potential show car.. Great for any enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool Vintage Classic Muscle Car at a great price.

The car is located in Beverly Hills... Inspections are welcome and encouraged... serious buyers can call me at 310 850 8980 but no tire kickers please. I'm open to interesting trades (within ebay guidelines) but no projects or junk please.

GM program sees dealers taking on way more loaner cars

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. Bring your car into the dealership for service, and you may need a loaner car in exchange. And with so many recalls being carried out, that means a lot of loaners – especially at General Motors dealerships. That could be one of the reasons why GM is massively expanding its loaner fleet program. While many Chevrolet and Buick-GMC dealerships have an on-site rental car location operated by a third party like Enterprise (which may or may not provide a GM vehicle), others manage their own loaner fleets. But while the range of dealerships operating such fleets was once small, reports Automotive News, the number has been growing rapidly: from the locations responsible for only 20 percent of those brands' sales two years ago to about 90 percent today. The impetus for that growth comes down to a massive expansion of GM's Courtesy Transportation Program. The initiative encourages dealers to ramp up their loaner fleet to a maximum size determined by GM, with a mix determined by the dealer itself, so that a showroom in Texas can be bolstered with a fleet of pickup trucks and a dealer in California can employ more Volt and Camaro Convertible loaners. The dealership gets a $500 credit for each vehicle its puts in its fleet, and can use those vehicles as loaners for service customers, as multi-day test drivers or to rent out separately. The vehicles remain in the dealer's fleet for 90 days or 7,500 miles, then they can be sold as used, but with new-car incentives. The dealer gets a fleet of loaners, customers get to use the loaners, try out a new car overnight or buy a barely used car with attractive incentives, and GM gets to clock more sales. But therein lies the kicker: the automaker counts the dispatch of the loaner new vehicle to the dealership as a new-car sale, which could end up distorting its sales figures. Counting loaner vehicles as sold vehicles is something of an industry-standard practice, but given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. One dealership - Paddock Chevrolet in Kenmore, NY, for example - had no loaner fleet two years ago, but now runs a fleet of 50 vehicles. Multiply that by the 4,000 or so dealers GM has across America and you're talking about the potential for hundreds of thousands of these sorts of sales.

GM recalls 51k Enclave, Traverse, Acadia crossovers over fuel gauge inaccuracy

Mon, 05 May 2014

With all eyes fixed on General Motors in the wake of the ignition recall debacle, the auto giant has been carefully calling in a wide array of vehicles to fix anything and everything that could prove problematic. Just the other day it issued two separate recalls - one concerning the Cadillac SRX and another its heavy-duty pickups - and now it is issuing another.
This time the vehicles in question are the Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia, three fullsize crossovers based on GM's Lambda platform. In an estimated 51,640 units manufactured between March 26 and August 15, 2013, the engine control module has been found to incorrectly display the level of fuel in the tank.
As a result, owners are being notified to bring their vehicles in to their local dealers to have the ECU reflashed to fix the problem. View the full details in the announcement below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Buick, GMC making OnStar Connected Services standard

Mon, Jul 11 2022

The thing about the future is that so long as you're alive, you're going to get there whether you like it or not. Thanks to over-the-air connections essentially being a compulsory part of EV ownership and an increasingly important — and profitable — component of ICE ownership, it's easiest for automakers to install full-featured Internet connections in every vehicle. GM has taken the first step, a report in GM Authority saying that as of June 2, all Buick and GMC models are sold with the Onstar Connected Services plan good for three years. The OnStar site shows the Connected Vehicle tier that comes with a Wi-Fi hotspot costs $24.99 per month, which would be $900 minus a few pennies for three years. At the top end is OnStar Premium that runs about $1,800 for three years. Both include Connected Services features, yet GMA reports that depending on the vehicles, OnStar Connected Services will cost between $905 and $1,675. Only the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 is excluded for now. GM confirmed the change to GM Authority, saying, "This offering provides our owners with a full suite of OnStar and Connected Services for three years, providing them with more time to enjoy services such as remote key fob, Wi-Fi data and OnStar safety services. By including this plan as standard equipment on the vehicle, it provides more customer value and a more seamless onboarding experience." Three trims of the GMC Sierra 1500 and two trims of the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL come in at the low end, OnStar adding $905 to their MSRPs. Almost every other vehicle gets hit with a $1,500 charge. The GMC Sierra HD Pro is the only model to charge $1,675 for it, which GMA breaks out as a "$1,500 3-year subscription and $175 OnStar & GMC Connected Services Capability." This brings up the question of the price differences; we can't tell if there's a difference in feature content between the price tiers, or why the Sierra HD gets the extra $175 fee. The automaker told GMA the upcharge will be folded into the MSRP. On the configurator for the Sierra 1500 SLE, for instance, the dialog box for three years of OnStar at $1,500 is automatically checked and can't be unchecked. The Buick configurators we tried don't mention OnStar.
