You're bidding on a 1993 GMC Sonoma extra-cab that I've owned for approx. 9 years. I bought the truck from a Copart auction locally in Baton Rouge, LA. I had been looking for this year model truck with low mileage for several years. I had owned a 1982 S-10 with a 2.8 V6 that I drove through high school & I had aspirations of shoehorning a V8 into it; unfortunately, I sold it when I started college and my plan never materialized. However, I was determined to make my dream project a reality at some point. This truck is the reality. When I purchased it from Copart auctions, It was a one-owner vehicle with 66,000 miles that had sustained sheet metal damage in an accident. It had damage to the hood, bumper, radiator core support, & right front fender all of which I replaced with GMC factory parts. Because it was going to be my daily driver for many years, I was very particular and wanted it to keep its look as close to stock as possible. The hood & right fender cost over $500 from GMC, whereas aftermarket parts would've cost considerably less at $150. The perfectly- running 4.3 V6 was yanked as soon as I got it home. the undercarriage was repainted semi-gloss black & the drivetrain was replaced with a 1995 LT1 350 & 700 R4 auto tranny from a Buick Roadmaster that I had purchased from the same auction. It had just over 76,000 miles on the motor & transmission. The computer was sent to Performance wiring in Florida where it was retuned & a custom-built wiring harness was made specific for the truck. The engine was torn down, freshened up & a GMC hot cam kit was added to it. The linkage was able to be mated to the column shifter which is another item I wanted to keep as stock. It was repainted its original red and silver using basecoat and clear coat. I had a bedliner sprayed in and added new rims and tires. The only other non-stock item I added was posi-traction. Other than hearing it run, the only sure-fire way to differentiate it from any other S-10 or Sonoma is the aluminum LT1 5.7 liter emblems on each fender. It has power steering & power brakes and the A/C works! It has a slow leak in the condenser & it needs recharging every summer of which I've not done to this point. This was my daily driver for 5-6 years. At the time, I owned a Family Practice Medical clinic which is literally less than 1 1/2 miles from my home, which is why very few miles were put on it. It has never been raced or abused. Now, why am I selling it? I'm a long way from my high school days and now have 2 of my own of which are both in high school. My oldest son is 18 and has been asking me about the truck a lot lately and wants to trade his Honda Accord for it. The truck is as tame or as mean as you want it to be & quite frankly, not the vehicle of choice for an 18 y/o. My daughter will be 16 in September and I'm gonna need to get her a vehicle as well, which will be a total of 5 for the household; considering we have a 3 car garage I'm fast running out of room. I have no room for it & literally drive it around the block every other weekend to keep the battery charged. I didn't decide to sell it without a lot of thought. Its time someone else can enjoy it. Its very reliable and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it to Egypt and back. I don't have an ebay account and this is my wifes account & its hooked to her email. If you have additional questions about the truck feel free to email me at skikstew@aol.com.
Good Luck,

Best cars for snow and ice in 2023 and 2024
Tue, Jan 23 2024What's the best car for snow? The real answer is "the one with winter tires." What do we mean by that? You could have the finest, most advanced all-wheel-drive system or four-wheel drive in the world, but if you're running all-seasons (the spork of tires), your fancy four-wheeler won't matter much. The odds are, any vehicle on the road running good winter tires will probably perform adequately in slippery, slushy and/or snowy road conditions. (Here's a more complete explanation of why winter tires are totally worth it). In other words, you don't really need any of the cars on this list. With a set of winter tires, countless others will do the job, and even these will be at their best with proper rubber. You can find a variety of winter tires for your car here at Tire Rack. Keep in mind that you will need a full set of four snow tires for safety and performance, no matter what you're driving. The days of your dad putting just two snows on the family truckster to get it moving in a straight line are long gone. Don't get us wrong, getting a car that performs well in snow and ice is still a worthy criteria for car buyers. According to the U.S. Transportation Department, 70% of Americans live in places that get snow and ice. And much of the country has been blasted with arctic air for much of the new year. So let's look at the cars. First, we're highlighting choices for a variety of buyers and price points. Second, we're not just considering snow; we're considering general wintery conditions people will experience driving to work or school. As such, these are all choices with advanced all-wheel-drive systems, usually with "torque-vectoring" systems that not only automatically shunt power front and back, but side to side between the rear axles. Most have extra ground clearance for getting through deep snow, and we prefer those vehicles with more responsive steering, throttles and transmissions that provide a greater sense of vehicle control in slippery conditions. Acura RDX Read our Acura RDX Review Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system was one of the first to offer torque-vectoring, and besides often being touted for its ability to greatly enhanced dry-road handling, its benefits in the slick stuff can be profound. It's actually surprising that Acura hasn't leaned into this capability further by offering more rugged versions of its vehicles.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra introduced
2023 GMC Sierra prices up, start at $38,995 for Sierra Pro Regular Cab
Sun, Dec 4 2022It was only 90 days ago that GM Authority, typically a reliable source in these matters, reported on pricing for the 2023 GMC Sierra lineup before official numbers were released. Those early figures were apparently just placeholders. Now that GMC's uploaded the full 2023 configurator for the 2023 Sierra, not only are MSRPs higher except on the base trim, the destination charge has risen from $1,795 to $1,895. The sticker prices including destination and their changes from those late August sums are: Sierra Pro Regular Cab Standard Box 2WD Turbo 2.7L I4 L3B $38,995 ($1,025 less) SLE Double Cab Std Box 2WD Turbo 2.7L I4 L3B $52,095 ($1,100) Elevation Double Cab 2WD Turbo 2.7L I4 L3B $53,795 ($1,200) SLT Crew Cab Short Box 2WD 5.3L V8 L84 $57,795 ($1,300) AT4 Crew Cab Short Box 4WD Turbo-diesel 3.0L I6 LZ0 $68,595 ($1,495) AT4X Crew Cab Short Box 4WD 6.2L V8 L87 $83,595 ($3,395) Denali Crew Cab Short Box 2WD 5.3L V8 L84 $67,595 ($1,095) Denali Ultimate Crew Cab Short Box 4WD Turbo-diesel 3.0L I6 LZ0 $82,940 ($745) The Sierra's price bumps ranging from $745 to $3,395 come in tandem with the prices of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado going up anywhere from $800 to $1,800. The $3,395 MSRP boost on the Sierra AT4X skews the price curve because of extra equipment. GMA reported in July that the standard AT4X would inherit parts from the Sierra ATVX AEV created in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles. That's what's happened. A revised grille with gloss black and dark nickel trim, AEV front and rear bumpers with increased approach and departure angles, a hot-stamped hardened steel front skid plate inflate the cost and give the ATX4 a little more capability off-road. The equipment list also narrows the gap from the regular AT4X to the AT4X AEV, the latter going just a bit further with four more skid plates, AEV's Salta wheels, and a smattering of black trim around the body. We're still waiting for official pricing on the AT4X AEV. The image above shows shows how similar both trucks will look when the AEV arrives, with the standard AT4X on the left, the AT4X AEV on the right.
