For sale is a beautiful Stealth Gray 2012 GMC 3500HD Denali Dually.  To the best of my knowledge, this color is no longer available in the Denali trim.  The interior is ebony leather with heated and cooled seats, Bose 7 speaker sound system.  The truck was purchased new and has never needed to be serviced.  It is accident free and smoke free.  This is a great opportunity to own a like new vehicle in a unique color.  I bought this color since maintaining a black truck this size is a lot of work.  The truck includes clear front bra material to protect the painted front bumper, and Extang Revolution Tonneua cover, bed mat, Duraflap mud flaps (no drilling required) and may include a Reese 18K Signature series 5th wheel hitch for an additional cost.

I have cared for this truck meticulously.  I changed the oil and filter at 500 miles to be sure any break-in metals were removed from the engine, again at 1,000 miles, 2,500 miles, 5,000 miles and 10,000 miles.

I am only selling this truck as we have decided the sell our 5th wheel and step up to a motorhome.  The truck is an absolute pleasure to drive.  It has been rock solid towing our 5th wheel.  The combination of the Duramax engine, great brakes, Allison transmission, grade braking and exhaust brake inspire confidence when traveling.

Shipping or pickup is the responsibility of the buyer.  $500 deposit required and balance to be paid and verified prior to transfer.

GM tells NHTSA pickup truck electronic glitch is 'inconsequential'

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

General Motors has been enduring some serious problems with recalls recently, and it is hoping to avoid launching another major safety campaign. 200,921 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups are under the microscope due to a rare problem with their instruments, an issue GM calls calls "inconsequential to motor vehicle safety." The Detroit-based automaker believes that the glitch is so minor that it has filed a petition with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration asking the government safety watchdog for permission to pass on recalling the vehicles.
The fault at issue can occasionally cause the instrument cluster to reset when drivers use the steering wheel controls to browse songs from an external media device connected to the truck's USB ports. If a song's title information exceeds 2,000 bytes, according to The Detroit News, then the instrument panel can reset, which in turn causes the gauges, shift position indicator and cruise control telltale to turn off briefly. When rebooting, other instrument panel lights may briefly illuminate without their functions actually being activated. GM claims that if this does happen, the instrument display lights go out for about 1.5 seconds and the bulb check lasts a further five seconds. However, this snafu has no actual affect on the truck's operation. The glitch is present in trucks built between January 29, 2013, and October 28, 2013.

2015 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon order guides reveal added power

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

General Motors' Fleet Order Guide system is often the canary in the coal mine for interesting changes on new models. The recent guide for the 2015 Corvette unveiled all sorts of changes that weren't yet known about the sports car. Now, it's time for the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon to take their bow in the spotlight, and they look worth the wait. The new midsize trucks are getting a touch more power than first thought, as well as some very nice features.
Extended Cab models of both trucks come standard with a 2.5-liter, direct-injected four-cylinder rated at 200 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. That's a bit more than the 193 hp and 184 lb-ft originally reported for the duo. The standard transmission for the extended trucks is a six-speed manual, but the Work Truck trim is also available with an optional six-speed automatic. Towing for the four-cylinder is rated at 3,500 pounds.
Crew Cab models come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 hp at 6,800 rpm and 269 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 rpm, with a six-speed automatic. That's also somewhat different than the originally reported rating of 302 hp and 270 lb-ft. Towing for the V6 is rated at 7,000 pounds.

GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.
