2000 gmc sierra 3500 crew cab slt dually
we bought this truck for pulling trailers. the 7.4 engine started getting weak so we replaced it with a rebuilt 7.4 vortec roller engine. the specs are .030 oversize pistons and .010 crank grind. at that time we decided to have the transmission rebuilt, and replaced the torque convertor. we had the upgraded internals installed. after we got the truck back from the mechanic it started backfiring and acting like it has a miss. Ive replaced the camshaft sensor, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, cleaned the injectors, filters, etc. Im done fighting with the truck. over 8000 in engine, transmission, and labor to date. Im sure its nothing too serious but im done with the headache. went and bought a new 2500hd. this gmc has a great leather interior, tool boxes, goose neck receiver, decent tires, does have a couple minor dings, and a cracked windshield. I have all the paperwork to prove new components and the paperwork will accompany the truck for warranty purposes. i also have the original engine that came out of the truck as I opted not turn the core in. this truck has 11 miles on the new engine and transmission assembly. i have a clear texas title on the truck i will update pictures this week The vehicle is located in Hubbard, TX $500 Deposit due via PayPal at auction close. Chevy Express 1500, GMC Savana 1500 get the axe
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Fans of truck-based, light-duty vans can officially pour one out for the Chevrolet Express 1500 and GMC Savana 1500, as General Motors has officially put its long-serving big/little rigs out to pasture. Things aren't quite as sad as they sound, though. The heavier-duty 2500 and 3500 vans will soldier on, in order to duke it out with the largest members of Ram ProMaster, Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter families.
The move does seem to make a lot of sense. According to GM, customers only purchase the 1500-spec Chevrolet 23 percent of the time, while the GMC captures a mere 7 percent of the Savana family's sales. With numbers like that, it's no shock that GM thinks it can shift some of its buyers into its van family's more capable variants. "We knew we could move a lot of our 1500 customers into 2500-series territory," said GM's Joe Langhauser, the product manager for the company's full-size vans.
It's not just simple sales figures dictating the move, though. The 1500 line is taking up some valuable factory space that will be better spent on an eagerly anticipated new product.
GM 6.2L EcoTec V8 rated at 21 mpg by the EPA
Wed, 02 Oct 2013General Motors is already laying claim to best-in-class power for its new 6.2-liter V8 that will be offered in the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra this fall, and now it has released fuel economy numbers for the big engine. Available as an option on the Silverado LTZ and High Country (shown above) models as well as the the Sierra SLT and Denali trims, the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 will return 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway on rear-wheel-drive trucks; these numbers drop by one mpg each on four-wheel-drive models.
These estimates are in addition to the engine's 420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque and max trailering capacity of 12,000 pounds, and considering all that power it's not terribly far away from the fuel economy of GM's equally new 4.3-liter V6 and its rating of 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. This announcement comes just days after a report indicated that GM is unable to keep up with the demand of the 5.3-liter V8 in the fullsize Chevy and GMC trucks due to supplier issues. GM delivers best Q3 sales since 1980, 2.4M vehicles sold

Even after registering over 70 recalls through the first three-quarters of 2014, General Motors saw its best Q3 results since Jimmy Carter was in the White House, registering over 2.4 million global sales between June and September on the back of strong results in the US and China.
US sales were marshaled by good results for GM's pickups, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, which bumped the manufacturer's truck market share to 35.6 percent, up nearly three points from Q1 2014. Buick has seen healthy growth as well, with the Encore dominating its segment for the sixth month running.
It was China, though, that really bolstered GM's sales, as the company's efforts to top last year's record-setting 3.16 million units continued apace. Small SUV sales saw massive growth, with Encore, Chevrolet Trax and Captiva figures jumping 90 percent in Q3. Brand-wise, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Buick all saw sales gains in the PRC, with each recording double-digit year-over-year jumps. Cadillac sales alone were up 63 percent compared to the first nine months of 2013.
