Gmc Sierra 2500hd 4 Wd Extended Cab Short Bed Wt 6.0 3/4 Ton Chevrolet Silverado on 2040-cars
Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States
I purchased this truck new in Oct. 2004. It was not driven in the winter for several years but has been my daily driver for about five years.
It is a one owner truck. Always serviced when required and has been a very reliable vehicle. I don't need it anymore so, instead of letting it sit I'm selling it. Work Truck trim with added by me options of , cd radio, overhead console , outside temp. mirror , factory alloy wheels, tonneau cover and bed mat. Overhead DVD player with headphones , installed professionally. I've not tried this for years but assume it works .My kids have grown up. New , zero miles Firestone tires . Mobile 1 oil since new. Transmission flush etc . all service done . The brakes are fairly new . Heater power cable upgraded. No towing ever. No off road use ever. One minor accident, a family member hit it in my driveway , the driver's bed side has been replaced . Never a check engine light and for me this is a big deal. Quite unusual . Please note the small rust spots in the pictures . They are both cab corners and the driver's side back door bottom. I consider it to be in excellent condition. the above conditions excepted. Runs great , very powerful and regularly achieves 15 MPG . I don't promise this but driving the speed limit I have gotten 17 MPG. It has been one of the best vehicles I've owned and I drive Honda cars. Getting divorced and downsizing . |

Watch GM's new pickup crash its way to five-star NHTSA ratings
Thu, 09 Jan 2014General Motors has just scored a big win with its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, acing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration New Car Assessment Program. The two full-size trucks had already netted a five-star Overall Vehicle Score in their crew-cab variants, but the new testing certifies them as five-star trucks in both regular and double-cab bodystyles, so GM's trucks offer top ratings across the board.
"Our incredibly capable trucks have been engineered to be some of the safest," Gay Kent, GM's general director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness said. "We've designed the vehicle structure, strategically placed high-strength steel and developed the occupant restraint system to achieve high levels of safety performance."
The scores mark the Silverado and Sierra as the first pickups to net five-star scores since NHTSA beefed up their testing regime in 2011, a nice feather in GM's cap as it continues to slug out the pickup truck wars with crosstown rivals Ford and Ram.
GMC Canyon's jump seats innovate to keep kids safe [w/video]
Sat, 03 May 2014We dig simple solutions to problems. There's something highly gratifying about making a minute change to fix something, rather than tearing up the playbook. That's what GMC has done with the new Canyon midsize pickup.
When putting a car seat in, car seat manufacturers require that at least 80 percent of the seat's base fit on the bottom cushion. That's a big problem in extended-cab pickups like the Canyon, which feature jump seats with shorter bottom cushions, in place of the larger, more traditionally designed bench.
The Canyon gets around this with extendable jump seats - simply pop out the headrest and slot it into the bottom seat cushion, and the truck can now easily accommodate a child's seat.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines
Thu, 13 Dec 2012General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.
