Truck is relisted now with a Rebuilt Michigan title. It passed inspection by a state certified inspector. There was a lot of interest in this truck if it had a rebuilt title so I went through the inspection and relisted it. Buy with confidence I have excellent feedback!

Selling my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4x4. It is the crew cab SLT fully loaded model. It has onstar and leather heated seats. I took pictures of everything. It has the power adjustable towing mirrors and expand out. Please do not mind the truck being dirty, we are having a lot of snow and rain and its hard to keep clean right now. Truck was in a accident previously and I bought it damaged and had it repaired. I just received the red GMC emblem for the front of the truck and installed it. I took pictures and added them after I first listed this. Truck comes with a rebuilt Michigan title. Please check with your state/country laws regarding registering a rebuilt vehicle before buying. The 4x4 works great and I have used it this winter. I have put about a 2,000 miles on the truck this winter and it runs strong and solid. The tires are like new. It has the spray on liner for the bed and was done well. Only thing that bothers me is the speedometer stopped working a few weeks ago. It still registers the miles as i drive but I can not tell how fast I am going. I found these inexpensive on ebay and just did not want to change it since I was selling it and wanted to show the original mileage on the truck. I took pictures to show some of the normal wear and tear on the truck. It is a beautiful work truck and has the luxury options on the inside. The crew cab is great and definitely better than extended cab. I just need buyer to sign a bill of sale I will provide and I will sign title right over. Mileage is now around 142,500 and picture was taken about a month ago. Mileage will go up as I do drive the truck.  Sold as is with no warranty!

GM might lose 90-year U.S. sales crown over chip shortage

Sat, Oct 2 2021

Automotive News editor Nick Bunkley tweeted on October 1 that according to AutoNews data, General Motors "has been the largest seller of vehicles in the U.S. every year since passing Ford in 1931." With automakers having turned in light car and truck sales data for the first three quarters of 2021, GM's 90-year-run might not reach 91. According to AN figures, Toyota was 80,401 vehicles ahead when the October workday started. Worse, GM is so far behind its historic pace that it might only sell enough light vehicles in the U.S. to match its numbers from 1958.  Meanwhile, the New York Times put a few more salient numbers to the pain GM and Toyota are enduring alongside the the rest of the industry. GM sold 33% fewer cars in Q3 2021 than it did in Q3 2019 during the dark days of the pandemic, 446,997 units this year as opposed to 665,192 last year. GM's Q3 2020 was only down 13% on Q3 2019. Over at Toyota, the bottom line showed a 1% gain in Q3 2021 compared to 2020, with 566,005 units moved off dealer lots. The finer numbers show two steps forward and one step back, though; Toyota's September sales were down 22% compared to last year.  GM remains optimistic about what's ahead, GM's president of North American operations telling the NYT, "We look forward to a more stable operating environment through the fall." We'd like to see that happen, but we don't know how it happens. The chip shortage said to have been the inciting incident for the current woes isn't over, and not only can no one agree when it will be over, the automakers, chip producers, and U.S. government still can't get on the same page about who needs what and when. Looking away from that for a second shows articles about "No End In Sight" for supply chain disruptions in early September, before China had to start working through power supply constraints, global supply chain workers started warning of a "system collapse," and roughly 500,000 containers sat waiting to be unloaded at Southern California ports — a record number seemingly broken every week. And back to chips, we're told just a few days ago the chip shortage is "worse than we thought."   For now, the NYT wrote that GM dealer inventory is down 40% from June to roughly 129,000 vehicles, and down 84% from the days when dealers would cumulatively keep about 800,000 light vehicles in stock. However, GM just announced it would have almost all of its U.S. facilities back online next week, although some would run at partial capacity.

GM phasing out light-duty 1500-series vans

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

In the market for a fullsize van but don't need a heavy-duty model? You're in the minority, and you're also out of luck. That's because there are barely any more fullsize vans on the market with gross vehicle weight rating of less than 8,500 pounds, the threshold that separates light- and heavy-duty vans.
According to PickupTrucks.com, neither the Ford E-Series, Ram ProMaster, nor Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are available in light-duty versions. Few of the Ford Transit configurations are, either, and now General Motors is discontinuing production of the 1500-series Chevy Express and GMC Savana.
Apparently light-duty versions accounted for just 23 percent of Express sales and only 7 percent of Savanas. Add to that the fact that these 1500 versions were the only ones using the old generation of engines and suspension, and that the Wentzville plant near St. Louis, Missouri, is trying to make room for the next Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, and the fate of the light-duty GM van was sealed.
