My father got this 2003 GMC 2500HD Sierra 4x2 new. He and I are the only ones who has ever really drove it. It is a non smoker.  It only has been a reliable tow vehicle for both my boat and 5th wheel.  About 15-20 thousand of the total miles have been towing the rest have been highway miles. This truck is equipped with a 6.6 liter duramax turbo diesel with a 5sp Allison transmission with PTO capability.  It has power mirrors that are heated and they telescope out. AM/FM CD player, cruise control, Dual climate control with cold A/C, tilt wheel,. Rails in the bed for a 5th wheel hitch and trailer brake box.  It also is equipped with helper air bags and a on board compressor. Remote keyless entry. power windows, rear window defrost. A Rhino Liner that is very durable and a quad fold hard tonno cover and has some dings and dents.  I had 8 new injectors and glow plug installed at 168,000 miles. It has disc brakes front and rear.  About every 6 months I run a bottle of Diesel Kleen through the fuel.  I have replaced fluid in diffs and transmission twice since it was new. Its never been mudded and only went through about 6 inches of water a few times.  I have never noticed any leaks coming from underneath of truck. It has been a real good truck for me with no real problems it averages 18-22mpg.  I just don't need a truck this big anymore since I sold my 5th wheel for a motorhome.  Its set up for pulling and it will do that real well. Please email me with any questions you may have or any other pictures you may want. Non refundable $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of winning bid. Payment due in full within 7 days of auction close. Cash or personal check cashed at your bank if it is local. Will help with delivery if it is local for extra fee. Thank you for looking and happy bidding!!!

GM reportedly recalling select 2014 Silverado, Sierra pickups over airbag issue

Sun, 21 Jul 2013

General Motors is recalling 843 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Crew Cab pickups, due to a fault with the vehicle's airbags. According to GM, the airbags may not inflate properly in the event of a crash. There haven't been any crashes or injuries associated with this recall, which is always good. Naturally, repairs will be free of charge, and GM will begin contacting affected owners soon.
GM has a lot hanging on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Not only is it banking over $12,000 per vehicle on these trucks, as reported by Automotive News, but GM is counting on the Sierra and Silverado to take the fight to cross-town rivals Ford and Ram. The F-150 and Ram 1500 have been on a tear over the past few years, with fresh updates, advanced powertrains, and plenty of solid press while the GM trucks have been waiting for the 2014-model-year upgrades.
It's still entirely too early to judge the Sierra and Silverado, particularly as those 843 recalled trucks make up barely two percent of the over 40,000 units moved so far. But, as AN rightly states, these trucks are the most important vehicles to come out of GM since bankruptcy, with about 60 percent of global profits relating to pickups and SUVs. Starting an introduction of such a big product with a recall, however small, is not the preferred way to do things.

GM thinks Colorado and Canyon midsize trucks will lure crossover buyers

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

The invitation to come out and sample product at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, MI is rarely dull, and after spending this morning driving preproduction versions of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon all we can say is... under strict embargo. Sorry, America, we were as excited as many of you are to learn more about GM's new midsize truck range and take note of how they go down the road, but it's going to be September before we're allowed to share that with all of you. Here's to sweet suspense.
While we might not be able to talk about refinement or handling yet, we did find some of the product positioning and marketing statements from GMC and Chevy officials on hand at the program to be pretty interesting.
Of course, we all know that the literal competitive set for Canyon and Colorado is comprised of two comparatively ancient Japanese midsize trucks: the Toyota Tacoma (which currently owns this segment) and the Nissan Frontier. The Frontier's bones are as old as the 2005 model year, with 2009 marking the last time the truck was updated. The Taco was also launched in 2005, though it did see a freshening for 2012. The point remains that, in every facet from powertrain to dash plastics, the GM midsize truck twins are going to look positively space age by comparison when they hit the market for MY 2015.

GM considering new powertrain options for large SUVs

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Aside from the new General Motors offerings, there's not a whole lot of action going on in the fullsize SUV segment. That doesn't seem to be stopping GM from pushing the envelope in the market as Automotive News is reporting that the automaker is looking to introduce some new powertrain options into the Chevy Tahoe (and Suburban), GMC Yukon (and Yukon XL) and the Cadillac Escalade - all have been redesigned for the 2015 model year.
Now, we already know that GM and Ford are collaborating on nine- and ten-speed transmissions for a broad range of applications (including the big SUVs), but this new report says that GM is also considering other options as a way to one-up the competition and, of course, to optimize fuel economy. AN quotes Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer for GM trucks, as saying that "interesting powertrain technologies" are coming including a return of a hybrid SUV and possibly even a diesel engine. Although it sounds like the latter could come down to how customers respond to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel.
